@Sia: Silly employer. Your writing is much more important than whatever they're worrying about.

Your mouth to their ears, Jilly!

(Kept the Kaidan pic, though. )

What you just said makes me want to play some Oblivion so bad. :pinched:

Quick question for Kaiden fans. First I'll state that I have no opinion of him either way since I'm a guy and straight. For femshep I usually choose him (the other LI's are just silly). So what is it that makes you like him over the other LI's?

Good Morning Again Everyone!!!

Okay, because some people showed some interest in the fact that I was having a running argument in my head about Horizon and asked that I write it down.  Well I did.  I put it in as a letter because it made more sense.   It's my first time sharing, so sorry if it isn't the best. anyway if you intersted

Argument

Other then that hope everyone is having a Great Day!!!!

That's what 98% of the npcs say in the Shivering Isles. "From his mouth to your ear" or something.

In Mass Effect 1 or 2?

In either case, the reasons we like him in general are: he is genuinely concerned about Shepard, her well-being, and her feelings.  He is hilariously adorable when he trips talking to her.  He has a strong moral code and sticks by his principles.  He is refreshingly normal and has all his stuff in order, by which I mean he doesn't have any daddy issues/offspring issues/whatever like the whole frigging ME2 squad.

Edit: Oh, and the fact that he's hot helps too.

OOOO!!!! PICK ME!!!1!!!!!!!!!

For starters, you don't have to actively go after him to start something. I feel that his romance progression is very natural and that it's very well-paced. Another thing that I like about it is that even though they're on an epic quest to save all galactic life, the romance feels absolutely normal. It's very much 'guy meets girl; they get to know each other and fall in love'.

I also appreciate that the romance isn't treated like a fling. It's something real that's slowly grown over time since the first mission.

If there was no Shepard, I'd ship Kaidan and Liara. They'd be super cute together.

I agree.  Despite her grimdark makeover in ME2, Liara is the "nicest" party member in either game, other than Kaidan.  They'd be good for each other.

But...my Shepard does exist.  I'm 99.9 percent certain she wasn't the doctor in the email, but I'd be very unhappy if they wrote that out of nowhere.  And you'd think he'd just say it was Liara, instead being vague if it were her.

He's an actual grown up!  (And some fine looking character design, minus the funny looking hair.)

Most VG's require you to lead your potential LI by the hand, and fix all their problems, and Kaidan has totally got his act together.  He'll back Shepard up, he expresses concern about her problems and the things she has to do as a Spectre... and Sbarge's voice is sex incarnate.

Plus, initiating the romance w/Kaidan doesn't require skanky Shep a la the voice she uses w/Jacob or the 'let's be friends with stress-relieving benefits' that starts the Garrus romance or the 'let's talk about your dead wife' conversation that starts Thane.  And Liara, despite being older choronologically, is younger in terms of actual interpersonal experience, so we get back to the hand-holding, not-quite-an-equal-adult dynamic.  (In ME1 at least.  We get totally ignored in ME2, minus an awkward kiss.)

I doubt the Dr. was Liara. They probably won't mention the Dr. ever again.

I personally would ship Kaidan/Ash over Kaidan/Liara (Don't shoot me, Liara fans!  She's a great gal but I just don't see the chemistry between her and Kaidan, whereas I could see the friendship between Ash and Kaidan developing into something more if Shepard were out of the picture and Virmire hadn't happened)

I could see either shippage, depending on which way you wanted to take the idea. If you shipped Kaidan/Ash then it'd be all spicy and hawt and stuff. With Liara, they'd be the quiet couple in the back that mumbles at each other while constantly touching.

I agree I found Liara acted very young, and a bit melodramatic for me.  I liked the natural progression to.  I didn't really know about the romance aspect when I first started the game and I really liked the way it snuck up on me.

@ Milk, did that mean it was Okay?

@Jho: Yay, pic almost ready to be seen!

@Nightodie: Love the letter. Wonderful job.

@Joi: I like Ash/Kaidan together too, tbh. They've got this whole 'fight the good fight together' potential. Ashley gives Kaidan a kick in the butt when he's thinking too much, Kaidan slows Ashley down when she wants to charge into an unknown situation.

I could see Kaidan being protective of Liara, almost like a sibling, but I don't really see the chemistry there either.  Then again, the potential triangle going on in Fort's "Only By a Few Seconds" is completely believable, so I can obviously be convinced otherwise. Everyone loves Kaidan!

eta:  I totally missed Fort's comment about Kaidan/Liara being the cute-hand-holding couple mumbling together in the background, and I can picture that, so I have been convinced.  They could be adorable in a non-Shep universe.

Small question: Could someone PM me a link to the kotor restoration thingy, please? I tried the link from earlier in the thread, but it just gives me an error... :-\\

Also, could I possibly get the flycam instructions for ME2 as well?

<I'm being needy today, apparently. Sorry about that.>

@Nightodie: I wouldn't say ok, I'd say great. I could imagine Shepard going over all these arguments in her head, pacing up and down her cabin and being angry with herself for not telling all of them to Kaidan.

Wow, good job, NO!

Fort:  Ah, I was just paraphrasing the saying, "YOur mouth to God's ear."  I've never been able to play Oblivion, the GUI irritates the hell out of me.

And he'll talk to you about himself when you ask him even if you aren't trying to jump his bones.  Hubby ignored and Virmired him in his first run but after talking to him and taking him on some missions he actually feels bad about preparing to do it again.  <_<
