Honestly, I think he mentioned the doctor to try to clear the air a little with Shepard. He says that his friends talked him into it and it was nothing serious. That means it was just a casual date or two that meant nothing to him.
I think he still cares quite a bit for Shepard. Just because they had a fight doesn't mean that it's time to call it quits IMO. If they can work things out, then their relationship could be even stronger for it.
Anyway, just something to think about =]

First what exactly means " nothing serious" for Kaidan..one date? two? ten? That he don't sleep with her? or it was just " one night"? or what? ( well maybe Im too serious about this, but I had once in rl a boyfriend who slept with other girls and for him it wasn't something serious too-becouse he didn't love them, it was just one night for fun...Posted Image)
Second: I felt really bad after Horizont..Honestly I understand, that for Kaidan this meeting  wasn't easy too , but his lack of trust in woman who he probably loved was just..well it's makes me angry. He never offer his help, he knew, that maybe she will die ( and this time for good) and what he done? Just walk away....nice..
For other hand, I hate to be cheater, and I prefer to clear everything before I will move on..so still hope for " break up" option in ME3

I'm sure there will be half a dozen or more clips of a Kaidan-Garrus or Kaidan-Thane confrontation within a week of ME3 being released if that's the way they go. I admit, given previous history it's the most likely route for Bioware to go but I keep hoping they'll find a quad...

What's that they say about insanity again?

Naw. It'll be Ash-whoever and Liara-whoever. Kaidan doesn't exist in marketing because its canon to kill him and it's canon to be Sheploo and have relations with everyone.

People will still upload recordings of the scene to youtube.  Example: I found 3 videos of the scene where Shepard has to choose between Liara and Kaidan.

And that is what I meant when I said a Kaidan-Garrus or Kaidan-Thane confrontation.  I meant where they force Shepard to choose between them.  Like I said, I would be willing to bet that vids of such a scene would appear on YouTube in short order.

Oh. Yes, I see what you mean.

And under the videos will be multiple postings cheering for Kaidan's death. <_<

Is there any way to break up with Kaidan at Horizont ( any dialog option),? Im asking, becouse Im still in " relationship" with him, but I think ( especially after mail from him) that we should go separate ways, In this same time, I don't want to have any new LI for my main Shep which I want to take to ME3 ( while to have new LI looks as a only way to finish my relationship with Kaidan).

There is no way to break up with your ME1 LI. Outside of Horizon, there is no contact with Kaidan; there's absolutely no way to talk things out or break things off.

Crappy writing, if you ask me. It's forcing a conflict in ME3.

exactly..there should be option to break up with Kaidan, so my Shep don't have to be " cheater" or so. While I don't plan for her any ME2 LIs, I hope, that at last there will be option for that in ME3, becouse I think, that Kaidan should ratcher stay with his new girlfriend from Citadele( hmm..Im wonder if this doctor that's doctor Michel?), than try to rebuild his relationship with  my Shep, especially after Horizont  and his lack of trust about her work for Cerberus....

I really don't think that the Doctor from the Citadel is Kaidan's new girlfriend.  He was set up on a date with her, and the way it sounded in the email, just going for drinks with a woman was a huge step for him.  Considering that Shepard had been dead for two years, that's not unreasonable at all.  And there's no indication that it's Dr. Michel, her email sounded like she's pining for Garrus.

As for Horizon, if you prefer working for the Illusive Man to the Systems Alliance, that's your prerogative.  Kaidan's probably not a good romance option for a renegade leaning character who doesn't want to work with the Alliance.  You should cut him some slack, however, since he does remember how Cerberus was presented in the first game, and even in ME2, this organization is horrible.

The Illusive Man is using Shepard, and is giving her pretty gifts, and surrounding her with loyal crew members, to lull her into a false sense of security.  This is still the man who led the organization that purposely killed and tortured Marines on Akuze, who killed Kahoku, who tortured Jack, who killed other biotic children in order to experiment on Jack, who tried to commit terrorism on the Migrant Fleet...and so on.  He also lies about Liara, lures Kaidan/Ashley to Horizon as bait for the Collectors, plants rumors that Shepard was alive all this time and working with Cerberus...these are facts that the game gives us.  But we are unable to cut ties with this organization, for the sake of plot.

After seeing the Horizon scene for the first time, I was upset, but I quickly realized that I was much more sympathetic towards Kaidan's point of view than my own character's in that scene.  In fact, Shepard does and says nothing that would convince Kaidan/Ashley that working for Cerberus is the right thing.  I'm glad that Kaidan and Ashley acted like adults with their own minds, who are loyal to the Alliance, and weren't going to just follow Shepard blindly.  I just wish I could have roleplayed my character as a thinking adult also, who could have ditched Cerberus, or at least questioned their actions more.

i agree, shepard doesn't say anything that deffends her and her situation, or something that convice them to join you...or even anything that clarify that she was dead for the past two years...as far as i can see...Kaidan believes that shep was alive all the time

He says in ME1 that he doesn't have sex lightly; so I can say that I'm about 99% sure he didn't sleep with the Dr.

On Kaidan's side of things, though, how is he supposed to trust Shepard after she disappears for two years? He's been completely out of the loop. First he's mad about her not talking to him in two years then she says that she was dead but Cerberus revived her. I think he would have been fine and calmed down, but Shepard mentions Cerberus. It's unknown what they've been up to since Shepard has died, but given the fact that the Council calls them "sworn enemies" and that they've grown exponentially in two years shows that it probably isn't good.

I'm not saying that Kaidan is blameless in this, but I do think does deserve some slack and a chance to explain things in ME3. But I'm sure there will be a way to break things off with him in ME3, so I wouldn't worry about it too much about being stuck.

Personally think Kaidan went out for a cup of coffee, made awkward small talk, and went home early, but that's just me.

hmm..Im not sure, but I think, that there was a dialog line, when my Shep said to Kaidan that she was in coma or something like that, so how she could conact with him?. Also I agree, that in dialog between Shep and Kaidan there was almost nothing to say about her lack of interest in work for Cerberus ( my Shep isn't saint, but she always, when I had this option said clearly to TIM that she don't work for him and Cerberus). But at last the man who love my PC, slept with her, fight at her side  etc should have a little trust in her.
Anyway thank You all for interesting posts Posted Image

Just another quick thing.

He says, "I trust you, but I don't trust Cerberus."

That's the reason he didn't join. It's not her; it's the terrorist organization she's working for.

It better not. I'm angry enough at the poor writing and attention that was paid to the cameos. Part of me hopes for a bridging dlc that patches things up before ME3, but I won't hold my breath. The way things were handled in ME2 shows that Bioware doesn't seem to care much about the ME1 LIs at all.

Probably.

But they'll most likely make a Liara dlc instead. That's nice for the Liara fans but it sure doesn't look good for Ash/Kaidan fans.

It wasn't the fight, Fort.  It was the walking away.

He probably left before he got even angrier.

Regardless, the whole thing was crappy writing. It's forcing drama in where it doesn't have to be.

Well, we agree there... ;)

But Shep and Kaidan can fight, adults do that.  It was the walking away and the "loved" that was really hard.

@fort

the thing with the Liara dlc is that it will probably have to do with the shadow broker...everyone wants that mission right now. It is interesting and believe me, everyone wants to meet him (saying that he is an alien and not an organization)

but i really want it for ME3...

(sorry liara fans)

Calling it a night but before I go. If you have a serious suggestion as to the perfect 'station' on the SR-2 that could be Kaidan's spot, feel free to post it. And not the "Shepard's bed" thing hehe ;)
I think it's time Alenko gets a spot on the new Normandy! (in pic form)

Depends, where are Zaeed and Kasumi sitting (I don't have them, so I don't know where they are.)

There's a panel on Engineering that over looks the cargobay.  He could be there.  Or he could be in Engineering itself, after all, none of us have... christened it... with Miri.

Night Jho, sweet dreams
btw I like your new pic even if it isn't my favourite subject matter, lol

I still say we kick Samara out and give him the observation deck, although he could go where Thane is. (I'm assuming if thane survived the suicide mission he will want to spend time with his son).  Kasumi's area seems a little too public seeing as it contains a bunch of lounges and a barPosted Image

So I'm to the Hold the Line portion and so far I'm down Garrus, Thane, Jacob, and Legion. Wow, seems like I have a grudge against the femShep ME2 love interests.

The final tally: Miranda, Samara, Zaeed, and Grunt survived.
