Kaidan would be the answer to all your problems right now.  First of all, he's a sentinel, so he could fix your power if you really wanted.  2nd, he could just keep you safe by cuddling up close in the dark if the whole power thing didn't work out.

YES!  But what wait...puppy?  It's going to take me awhile to go back and catch up on the thread but...Conrad's genetic material would probably create one of those small, annoying, yippie dogs.  The kind that are just soooo..kickable. 

That could be even more annoying than Conrad himself.
