Hmm... would someone like to help me decide what I should play? Either DA:O or ME2?

Definitely the latter.

Heh... well I am facing the problem of Horizon vs. some sweet and innocent Alistair loving...
ME2... is faster paced and action loaded - DA:O is more RPG... Nyar... I think I'll at least import my characters into ME2... and later I can spend some time with Alistair.

Horizon first definitely, then cheer yourself up with Alistair.  Posted Image

@Shenzi: Exactly, that's what I was thinking.

@Night: Absolutely, right? I am mediocre good at making decisions... but when it comes to games, especially BW games, I am challenged.

Man I would hate, if they make Kaidan/Ashley come after us like that.

Sesh and I have been working on a little fan fic project. It started fairly innocently.  I commented on a bit of Aussie slang she used in one of her fics and we started having one of those *just because it's English doesn't mean the word mean the same thing to everyone* convos. Next thing ya know, we started into one of those "what would happen if Kaidan and Shep took shoreleave on a planet primarily inhabited by the descendants of Earth's Aussies" kind of conversations.

The result is Misunderstandings;  a short one-short story and brief Aussie-English Dictionary. Posted ImagePosted Image  While Sesh is becoming a writing pro, this is my first fic in years.  It was a lot of fun to write a story with her.  We hope you like it too.

Morning all, just quoting the above for those that haven't seen Star's fic.

@Jho - I like the re-done pic

I just realized again how much I like the Mass Effect Soundtracks - how important music actually is to games and movies. It's amazing that I get goosebumps listening to some track because I connect it with something... *sighs* I am so happy to be manipulable in such ways.

@Kioux - I know what you mean. I absolutely love the music from the ME2 fight for the lost trailer and listen to it all the time, as well as the opening music from ME and DAO.

Jho, I love the new/revised pic.  I wish my Shepard could have given him some kind of reassurance.  Posted Image

Is anyone else getting their hopes (slightly) raised about the story DLC that's supposed to be announced today?  I don't want to be roped in again, just for more disappointment, but they seem to get me every time...Posted Image

@Sesh: Aye, I am so easily affected by music and BioWare really is great at choosing the right tracks. The one for the Suicide Mission or the End Run for example... I really love it - the music made the scene a lot more... epic than it actually was or would have been without music.
Reflections always gets me close to cry, lol.
I think  I'll order the e-version...

@Teen - I find it easier nowadays not to get my hopes up and to expect the worst. One of these days I might be pleasantly surprised, lol. I'm quickly losing faith in Bioware and after seeing the new DAO dlc its not looking like it will be restored anytime soon.

Nuh, my hope and expectations have found a deep and dark place to lay dormant for the next two years... After seeing the Darkspawn Chronicles for DA:O... I am not expecting anything that will really sweep me off my feet anymore.

I believe a dev said that there would be more information about a story based DLC this week, and that was all we know at the moment.  I am just wishing they'd put me out of my misery and announce the new DLC today.  Posted Image

And thanks all :)

This impression-questioner and opinion-seeker is looking for Alpha and Beta Readers for Chapter 8 and possibly 9. Yell if you are incredibly bored and have little hopes...

Legbamel, Lisa_H, Kioux, Sialater, TeenZombie, Jillyfae, Fortunesque, Sapphyre - thanks for the answers ten pages (and three days) back. (I can't check this thread very often; sorry!)

In general, I think that something a number of you focused on - Shepard's natural charisma, talent for leadership, and overall force of personality - is the main contrast between her and Kaidan. He is more low-key, more reserved. Well, unless Shepard's charisma is a front, in which case she's super-reserved too. But I like the fact that, whether or not Shepard is biotic, he doesn't have to worry about hurting her.

In particular, I have rarely read a more different Shepard (when it comes to Kaidan) than Fort's Faith. But the relationship works so well! Often hilarious, yet often touching. The only time I'd ever venture near a place called Adult Fan Fic is to read Parallax, but it was well rewarded!

I largely find myself agreeing with you re. the prospects that face us in ME3 - whether Kaidan will be leaving the Alliance, or whether the Alliance will welcome Shepard back. I hope for the latter. At the same time, I don't think any of us could have predicted the start of ME2 when we'd finished playing ME1, so it's hard to know if either of those options will even matter - will there be a third option?

Hey Ki, I'll trade ya, I've got a rough draft of Chapter 8 I've been working on that could use some feedback.
