I love the soundtrack too. I have both the soundracks for ME1 and ME2 in my ipod:happy: My boyfriend says I'm crazy when I forces him to listen to it in the car.

I agree with most everything in your post, and I would never have guessed that the writers were going to put Ashley/Kaidan in that position on Horizon.  I was shocked when they announced they wouldn't be teammates, and I was slightly less worried when Casey Hudson claimed that they were being held back for ME3, and this was just the second part of the love story arc for these characters -- but I don't see that in the role Kaidan, Ashley OR Liara played in ME2.  It seems to me that they were deliberately trying to make players hate these characters, and move on from them.  That's not part of the traditional arc of a three-part love story.  So I have no real expectations for ME3.  I know what I'd like, and what would make sense...but we didn't get much logic when it came to the ME1 love interests in ME2.  So I'll just keep supporting Kaidan on the forum, and hope for the best.  If there is a third option, I can't really think of one, but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something even more illogical and infuriating to my favorite squadmate.

i think that probably we'll spend the whole game convincing every organization to fight the reapers. probably shepard will get the option of wich organization she wants to convince, just like you get the choice of which parts of the ship you can upgrade, but i believe that if you get backup from the Alliance, they'll have to send someone to check on us...and that will be our beloved virmirre survivor.

This seems to be the general consensus as to the probably ME3 plot.... which makes me think it can't actually be it, cause the general forum-brain is usually wrong.   However, I haven't been able to think up anything better either, so I will continue to go with it for my fic-ing as well.  (That is so almost a very bad sentence.  )

I would be greatly thrilled if ME3 started up w/Shep getting hunted down by the Virmire Survivor, confrontation right there, front and center:  what do you want, what are you doing, what do you need. blah blah.  If any of the pre-ME2 teasing is remotely accurate, Liara and Ashley or Kaidan have to be part of the plot, in the same way Alistair and Morrigan were integral to the plot of DAO.  You could kill or dismiss everyone besides them, after all, in the same way everyone in ME2 could potentially die.

Perfectly reasonable reaction to the story in ME2, actually, I'm just determined to have a bit more hope than that. Cause I'd rather cry at the video game cause the story is that good, not cause it's that bad... of course, I cry at everything, so that doesn't take much either way.

Awww, you know, Jacob is actually a really nice guy (with the exception of his final romance scene). He is similar to Kaidan in that they're both humans, nice guys and have/had a bit of a blind spot when it came to their respective employers at the beginning of their games.



However, I like Kaidan better.



Hmmm, you know, I wonder if ME3 will be the time when we actually get a form of a loyalty mission for Kaidan/Ashley. It was rather conspicuous by its absence in ME1.

I personally hope that Ash/Kaidan don't have a loyalty mission in ME3 if they're squadmates. In ME2, they both state, "I trust you; I just don't trust Cerberus". So, even while they're fighting with Shepard, there still is a degree of loyalty and trust there. There's also a very high level of worry on their part that Cerberus is trying to manipulate Shepard.



To give them a loyalty mission in ME3 would be silly unless it were completely optional and didn't have a bearing on their survivability. I think the fact that Shepard's defeated the Collectors ought to be enough evidence for Ash and Kaidan that Shep's in the right place.
