I personally hope that Ash/Kaidan don't have a loyalty mission in ME3 if they're squadmates. In ME2, they both state, "I trust you; I just don't trust Cerberus". So, even while they're fighting with Shepard, there still is a degree of loyalty and trust there. There's also a very high level of worry on their part that Cerberus is trying to manipulate Shepard.

To give them a loyalty mission in ME3 would be silly unless it were completely optional and didn't have a bearing on their survivability. I think the fact that Shepard's defeated the Collectors ought to be enough evidence for Ash and Kaidan that Shep's in the right place.

@Fort: The Virmire survivor having a mission specifically to ensure their loyalty would be completely ludicrous, I agree, but it would be nice to have something in game, specifically tied to their respective backstories, that you could do for them. Not sure what that something would be, but it would be nice.

I agree that it'd be nice to have a sidequest of sorts for them, but it'd be tough to have something to implement that wouldn't suck. Both Ash and Kaidan don't really have any loose ends. I mean, there could be a quest to restore Ash's grandfather's honor, but Kaidan doesn't have anything comparable.

For Kaidan they'd probably do something Conatix/BaAT/Rahna related, although I really would like to know more about his life other than Jump Zero.  I'd fall down dead from surprise if they actually do something new and different with him or Ashley.

the thing is that the writers just focus on his life in the BaAt<_<...they don't mention other things in his life...i want to know moar,but i also want to meet Rahna and beat her sooo

Well, I would welcome any chance to see the families of Kaidan and Ash, maybe the quest could involve them in some way. You don't have to have big dark past for your family to get into trouble.

Taking about families, I would also be nice if a Spacer-Shep and Kaidan could meet her mom in ME3.

I had this strange thought of Rana... Rhana showing back after she found out that Kaidan has been promoted and has received his share of fame.

I don't know why - I mean he describes her as a nice girl and everything,but I also got the impression of her being a spoiled bi... brat who collects people around herself to get them to do things for her.

Oooh, there we go. A virmire focus within a Shep-specific-quest or two. Meet the families, go to Mindoir, testify against the Reds... all sorts of options there.

i'd love that...i just hate how Shep treats her mom. you mom sends you a mail and you can't even answer it. i just imagine their reunion:
shep's mom: "OMG shepard, you're alive, don't care for a hug?"
shepard: "whatever, gotta save the word"

My irritation that Shep couldn't answer her mom's mail came very close to the irritation that Shep could not answer Kaidan's mail.

That e-mail address was spilled along with the rumors of Shepard being Cerberus... you know so that people could start accusations and so on and so on.

Rhana was just a teenage hormone driven infatuation, even though it didn't get very far.



In ME3 I expect Kaidan to be on my squad. I don't care what reason they come up with for him being there as long as he is on the Normandy, lol. I would gladly boot anyone else off the squad to make room for him. I wouldn't mind if Shep & Kaidan meet up on a Cerberus related mission to get TIM (whether one of them has to rescue the other or not I don't care), but that would only work for Shepards who told TIM where to go.
