Hi everyone

I remember the first time I was faced with the Virmire choice and I literally stared at my screen like ?!?o.O?!? I'd never faced such a choice in a game before and I loved both the characters, but since Kaidan captured me from the start I had to choose him, it took minutes and tears to decide though.

I normally send him with the bomb (highest officer, biggest priority mission, Shepard picking him up...) but I'm gonig to send him with the salarians this time and save him there, probably be worse becasue I here that you see Ash with the bomb watching you fly off. Why couldn't they have nuked it from orbit!!!!!! It was the only way *sage nod*.

That's funny you should say that.  The first time I was faced with the choice I put the computer down and called my friend who had got me into the game (male) and said, you mean I really have to pick one? - he hadn't gotten up to that part and he didn't know.  He told me to pick Ash, and I will be honest with you I didn't know about the romance content when I first played the game so I never realized Kaidan was my love interest until I picked him to save and then he and Liara confronted me.  I was like whoa, when did that happen, I thought they were just being nice to me... silly now when I play I realize I must not have been paying attention to the dialog the first time, because you can't miss it.

Okay so sometimes my intelligence just disappears.

I understand. It's what makes the choice difficult, knowing that Shepard likely cares a lot for both of them and that Ash has a big family. We can insert "logical conclusions" into it all we want, but Shepard still has to make the choice to allow someone to die.

Given the nature of the suicide mission in ME2 I was really surprised that we weren't faced with another no win situation where we'd have to pick who lives and who dies again.

When I first played, I was told that "it's fun to be a jerk". So I was mean to everyone, including Kaikais. And it killed me to be mean to him; he was cute and he did nothing wrong. I had fallen victim to the over-simplification that top right is nice, bottom right is mean, and middle is neutral. So if I was going to play as a sketchy hero, I would always choose the bottom right option.



And then I later found out about the romance content. I was too dense to pick up on the fact that he had a thing for Shepard my first time around! >.<



In my first playthrough, I wondered why Shepard suddenly told Kaidan that she was all hot for Liara... I remember saying, "hey... I'm not gay. It figures that they'd have girl on girl in a videogame. I want the cute guy with the pretty eyes..."

Agreed. I thought my team would be dropping like flies and that was very much not the case.

Yay!  Your story inspired me to do a new elven mage romancing Zevran run...although I *WISH* we could have both guys without installing a mod.  I can't have Alistair doing something yucky like marrying Anora, and it will be very cruel to send him to Morrigan at the end if he hasn't been romanced...  Your Moira is a lucky lady to have her problems with men...

Unfortunately, you can only do it in fanfic.  *sigh*  Though I did exploit a bug without even knowing it. 

And if DA:O was hard.... Meghan's going to have problems in ME3 if she's got to choose again.  OK, if I have to choose again.

I just hope it's not coming across as some sort of lame romance-y Moira Does Ferelden thing.  That she's not a Mary Sue.  They like her because of her idiosyncracies (and that they're not lame ones, either).

Okay as Jilly pointed out to me I am fictionally impared. I put chapter 2 up twice it seems, now I deleted it and fixed it but it doesn't seem to have worked. There might be a time delay. It's called Planetfall, so if you read survey and it comes up again don't bother. I hope it works
