A Mid Winter's Thaw - http://pagerunner-j....l.com/4102.html, it's one of my guilty pleasures.

It takes place 8 years after the blight, Alistair has returned to highever after leaving before the arch demon fight.  Fergus is now king (married to Anorna).

In chapter 29 (updated m/w/f) Alistar and Elinora have just been interrupted in the library by Fergus -

"Yes, it's Alistair Theirin, bastard son of King Maric, Grey Warden, notorious deserter, recently returned from such an ignominious disappearance in order to help in a time of crisis, and yes, a former companion of mine in both battle and in bed, which is indeed why you just walked in on your sister attempting to climb him like a tree. Now would you stop staring at him like that."

If anyone enjoys DA:O fics and needs reading material I highly recommend it.

Reading this now, and trying to get dinner started...too addicting. Thanks for the link!

Ok... just have to say, Jaer is comedic gold.

Isn't she though?  Not that I wanted any of that particular Udina imagery in my head...

Or a bromance between him and Joker. :)

Thank you. And thank you to everyone else for the kind reviews. Gotta be honest, though, the DragUdina is Fort's fault. Jho's, too, if I recall correctly. The thread was discussing Kaidan's bachelor party, it degenerated (of course, lol ) and somewhere around that same time I saw DragUdina. The evil snickering started then.

As an afternote...I've never done a Couple Talk version, though I've contemplated it (sounds too much like therapy, but Shepard trying to adjust to a guy living in her space has potential), but if I had, Kaidan would have had his lap dance that night ;)   No Udina involved...except maybe at a bad flashback moment for Kaidan.

What day in Sept Liam? I got married on my 25th birthday on 9/9/95 so hitting the big 40 this year.

The 12th. 9/12/98  I hit 40 in march. So I sometimes feel like the white bearded old wise man of the Ash thread.

LOL.  Oh stop it you two! Posted Image  I've got 10 years on ya. I certainly don't feel old  -- I think I'm stuck at about 33 most of the time and sometimes at about 10 -- and I intend to stay there!

Ha Ha I have 10 years on you too Shenzi, and I agree with Star, you still feel the same inside... and it goes so fast.  I still feel the way I did when I was in my 30's.  To be quite honest, I think I am happier now then I have been in years.

MUST KEEP ON TOPIC:

@ Fort...for my Shep it was less about the strippers for Kaidan and more about messing with Joker. Udina was just a means to an end for her, lol.

Now I have to figure out the Bachelorette Party. Can't see Miranda arranging male strippers. She's a little too proper for that...and it would annoy Jack if there weren't any. Chambers, too, come to think of it. A traditional bridal party...something that your mother would be comfortable at...was suggested because it wouldn't be expected.

Plus, oddly enough, my Shep is a bit of a prude when she's around others. Unless she thinks she can say something outrageous to get Kaidan to blush. She likes that.

Hm.... maybe someone Shepard has been an acquaintance with would find the strippers. Perhaps Jenna from ME1? She seems like a gal in the know.

It's a damn shame Ash died. Could you imagine her with male strippers?!!!

Yes. I can. Damn, my Shep need someone like Ash to arrange it. I could do so much with Ash at a bachelorette party. I could just see Jack handing over a gift basket, my Shep going Posted Image at the toys and having Ash try and explain them with input from Chambers and suggestions from Jack. Posted Image

Curse you, Bioware.

@Jho, Kioux, NightOdie Yay, fans! Don't worry, I'm working on Chapter 8, promise. No Joker planned in that one though, sorry.

@Sia: You knows I loves your stuff, but I just realized I haven't technically commented on the last couple chapters... my bad.

@Jaer: You could probably write an actual therapy session, and I'd still be amused. And I always like your Shepard and Kaidan together. Whatever works. ^_~

@Fort: Emily Wong should come. She'd definitely know the best strippers. (And yes, Ashley would've been the bestest fun at a bachelorette party!)

I was thinking about her too. She seems like a lot of fun, but it'd be in poor taste to invite the media along, no matter how nice she is and that she could be trusted.

Ash giving Kaidan the "talk" before the wedding night...the more he blushes, the more graphic she gets. Possible object lessons involving lubricants and flavored gels...oh, it could go on.

Yeah, Emily's one of those 'can be trusted to a point'.

The bartender from Illium would throw a kickass party. Aelthya? Something. She would have male strippers. What species of male, not so sure on, but they would be male.

Illium would involve Liara...possibly even Liara arranging the party, leaving Miranda out of it...hmm...
Dammit, Kaidan's party was on the Citadel and I'm pretty sure the wedding will be. I might be able to work something...

Aw...don't worry about that.  Dunno what your experience has been but in mine, no couples' therapy is ever the same and it usually isn't as most people imagine it to be (or as it's portrayed in movies/tv).  Certain there's usually very little humor and most of your work is pretty humerous!!

One of the things that had me contemplating Couple Talk was a chat about children after a pregnancy scare...I think Sesh has actually read a bit of that. Shepard was sick, not pregnant. Shepard stating she's not ready for children...they get interrupted to go settle a fight between Jack and Grunt. Come back, Kaidan wants to know when she'll be ready...they get interrupted because Miranda is tired of Zaeed continually putting surveillance devices in the women's restroom...etc. You get the idea.

lol.  That sounds like a terrific story! There's such opportunity for misunderstanding, double meanings and some serious conversation to move the relationship forward.  And when I think about Miranda's ass, Zaeed and surveillance.... the mind boggles:blink:

Sorry...I was distracted when Sia told me Kaidan was on top.

I'm not supposed to be this degenerate at work. I have got to lay off the cold medicine.

I'll see what pops. I like doing the light, fluffy ones. I've been working on the sequel to A Soldier's Weakness (yeah, totally lied to myself about taking a break, I'm already 3,000 words into it) and fluffy is a nice break from the havok I'm wreaking in my Shep & Kaidan's lives.
