@Jho - men are so dense sometimes, lol

No kidding lol

Hmm...made him some eggs. Think Shepard can do the same? She's always portrayed as being a horrible cook but what if she's a genius in the kitchen? Imagine Kaidan's surprise hehe

Hehe... know I"m 8 hours behind (no pun intended after all the rear-view jokes!)  Anyway, I really enjoy fics that allow Shep to be more than just an archetypal warrior and all the asumptions that go with it.   My primary Shep is pretty efficient.  She's good at many things. She cooks, she likes to keep her room clean, she likes to wear make up and yet she's also very good at her job both the managerial aspects and the fighting aspects.  What she's not good at is pet care and has many many dead fish to prove it.

@Star - I actually managed to keep the fish alive in 1 playthrough ,but I had to really think about it. It was actually a pain to have to keep remembering them. After that I thought stuff it, and I just don't bother even buying them in subsequent playthroughs, lol

I see my Shep as quite a good cook as well...though leaning towards baking. For some reason she finds it relaxing, though she tends to make a horrible mess out of the kitchen and herself while doing so. In fact, despite her being so darn efficient in her work, she's one hell of a slob in private.
Which in my eyes is a nice contrast with the, no doubt, tidy Kaidan
I can see Kaidan being highly organized in whatever he undertakes...his work or just doing laundry lol...dunno why.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

@ Teen: I was afraid to post my fic, but people like it.  I guess if you like your story then someone else is bound to like it too.  You have nothing to lose.  Someone will like it.  I mean lets face it, my stuff is pretty sappy and full of fluff but people seem to like it.

@ Jo congrats auntie

@ Sesh you can always send your kids out and take a nap.

@ Shenzi I like your fic it's not fluff

@ Od - hope the rest of the day is better for you!!

@ Star I think in the 2180s they will have makeup that you put on once and then never have to worry like tattoos (silly I know but it is why Shepards makeup never changes, you get it done when your a teen and never need worry - voila your beautiful.  And my Shepard needs her makeup - she isn't pretty by any means)

And I think the fish tank is pretty without the fish.  I have fish in real life and unless it is a plecostomus (I swear they last forever/ they eat algae from the tank sides and they get huge) they die really fast so I didn't buy any in the game.  Also I am a cat lover so no hamsters.

Yay! Caught up.

Have Fun!!!

Okay have a question. I was trying to think if Shepard had not died. How would we have defeated the Collectors with out the help of Cerberus. No one believed in the Reapers and I don't think the council would have changed their toon. She would have Kaidan but would have been fighting a losing battle for two years and the Collectors wouldn't have been stopped. Thoughts?

@ Sesh - I'm impressed you managed to keep the d*** fish alive!  I ended up with the hamster which seemed to be reasonably self-sufficient. Much like my Mr. Ginger and Abu, my cats.  And of course the hamster was a nice reminder of BGII (I devoted many hours to writing BG II fic. lol)

@ Jho - I can see Kaidan and Shep in a kind of Oscar/Felix-odd couple-relationship in regards to their tidiness in the kitchen.  In fact, I think that that might be the one of the few places my Shep also really allows herself to relax (the shower being the other, lol!) and be creative.  I think she'd probably toss dirty clothes on the bed but be very tidy about her clean uniforms, guns and armor. There are a lot of military men in my family and the Navy guys in particular are especially neat. Something about having to make do in extremely small spaces with little storage I guess.

@ Night - yeah it would be great to have more permanent makeup.  I'd like to think that it could be semi-permanent though since fashions do change.  I remember in the 80s/90s people there was a move towards permanent makeup; one of my friends had permanent eyeliner done. Sort of a tattoo process but much prettier.  Still my Shep has to have her makeup.  There's a piece of her that's still a girly girl. Some of my Shep's even have pink armor.  Pink Camo armor that is.  :P

hehe my Shep just uses a bit of eye makeup. I can see permanent cosmetics in the ME universe sure. My brother's wife has the permanent eyeliner and have to say I don't like it. Not only is her 'look' pretty much always the same, it has faded over time and just isn't of the same quality as regular eyeliner.
While I like makeup, I like changing it around a lot too. Keep it natural or go all out, with permanent makeup you don't have that choice.
But hey I'm sure there are like Estee Lauder and Clinique booths in ME where you just choose what you want to wear, pay for it, step into the booth and FLASH all done

LOL. Jho, you are my kinda girl (nh).  My Shep would be fighting her way to the front of the line at Estee Lauder. And perhaps Lancome. ;)  No permanent make up for her though for the reasons you mentioned above. My friend's eyeliner also faded over time and seems somewhat out of date.

Well in RL I never wear make up.  but I figure in 150 years they should be able to improve what they have now.

Absolutely!

Although I admit, I only leave the house w/o makeup when it's dark.  Like at 5:30 a.m for my morning walk. Just me, the dog and the coyotes who certainly don't care! Posted Image

lol I do wonder though...the ME universe seems to keep things 'real'. No pew pew lasers but bullets and that sort of stuff. I think the cosmetic industry will have developed in a way that it's less time consuming to look good but nothing drastic like the booth I mentioned ;)

Then again if it's easier to look good in the future, why the hell did they make those dresses so tight? No wonder most women stand still in ME, it must be a pain to move in those things...they are like cocoons.

I'm pretty sure those dresses are neck to toe spandex.

Good thing they seemed to have cured obesity. ;)

Hey Sia :) Well in case of those dresses, obesity would hardly matter...they seem to be a  'one size fits all'.

Posted Image  Good point.  I always assume the dresses must be made of lycra or spandex since the women do seem to be able to dance in the dresses (thinking of Flux and After life here).   I also notice how no one--particularly the women -- seem to carry any extra weight.

Edit:  Posted Image by Sia!  Great minds think alike. :)

Just catching up on the housework I ignored this morning while fic'ing.
