Dell's tech support is amazing.

I have a Dell laptop, and the mother board went bad on it while it was under warranty.  They sent me a container pre-paid to ship it back to them, did the repair, found and corrected another problem I didn't know about and then shipped it back to me all in under a week.

I've never very much liked the whole support thread thing to be honest... I mean sure it's great to have threads for characters you like but I feel as if it is dividing the community. It's like each support thread is it's own seperate clan. The members of the Tali clan (Tali-ban) keep peace with the Miranda clan (Miridians) but neither one dares to roam into the others thread lest all hell break loose. The Ash clan and Kaidan (Kaidanites) clan have long held a pact, but there is still a subtle rivalry among them. Then there is the Liara, Garrus, Samara, Thane and Jack clan... and perhaps even hints of the start of a Shiala clan. The last thing either wants is war.



I dislike that I basically have to "belong" to one of these clans or else I really have no sway on the forums... I have to belong somewhere or else people will not be interested in an in-depth discussion. Is it not possible for a person to like all or none of the squadmembers? It is dividing way the forum way too much IMO and is taking up the campaign quests and storylines forum which I would have thought would be reserved for actual questions about the story...

Outside of this thread, I haven't the faintest idea who "belongs" to what "clan". If people didn't post their preferences in their sig lines I often wouldn't have the faintest idea, nor would I care. I do think that the threads are very particular to a certain mindset but I really don't see that affecting my interaction on other threads. YMMV, but I've never had anyone write "You're just a Kaidanite" or something equally dismissive in response to me.



While this particular page doesn't really show it, there is a lot of discussion about character interaction and background on this thread, both speculative and canon. There's a lot of fluff, too, but the support threads aren't all rabid drooling and chanting in unison.

thanks Sapphy. I needed that Kaidan. This fic has taken a lot out of me, lol. Its my longest one so far. I just hope its worth actually reading and doesn't cause Star's head to explode. I do think it has an occasional flash of goodness though. I won't go so far as to say brilliance, lol

As the lovely people at the Garrus thread pointed out to me several weeks ago, you can "belong" to one fanbase but still go to the other threads and interact. For the most part, so long as you are not trolling the fanbase threads, you don't have to worry if you "belong" or not.

If you want to participate, ask questions, or try to spark discussion, then just start the ball rolling. Most of the threads that I've seen will have their frequent posters who will happily reply even if they've already said it before.

STOP IT!  I was a productive person before you.  I only had Netflix for rainy days!  Next thing your know I'll be ordering cable or some such.

Although, I'm hesitant to watch it.  It always seemed advertised as some teen angst drama.
