Wait, wait, wait.  Joss did Buffy?  Sold.

No, hold up a sec....is my absolute favorite character going to die in some tragic manner?

I have no clue who your favorite character could be if you haven't watched it, but keep in mind this is Joss. And Buffy is really what launched him.

I've never very much liked the whole support thread thing to be honest... I mean sure it's great to have threads for characters you like but I feel as if it is dividing the community. It's like each support thread is it's own seperate clan. The members of the Tali clan (Tali-ban) keep peace with the Miranda clan (Miridians) but neither one dares to roam into the others thread lest all hell break loose. The Ash clan and Kaidan (Kaidanites) clan have long held a pact, but there is still a subtle rivalry among them. Then there is the Liara, Garrus, Samara, Thane and Jack clan... and perhaps even hints of the start of a Shiala clan. The last thing either wants is war.

I dislike that I basically have to "belong" to one of these clans or else I really have no sway on the forums... I have to belong somewhere or else people will not be interested in an in-depth discussion. Is it not possible for a person to like all or none of the squadmembers? It is dividing way the forum way too much IMO and is taking up the campaign quests and storylines forum which I would have thought would be reserved for actual questions about the story...

I wasn't aware that there was any kind of divisive war on the forums due specifically to character threads. If someone has an opposing view to the current mood of *any* thread, they're generally treated poorly. (Ex: look at the dlc threads).

Nobody forces anyone to join a "clan" of any sort on this forum in order to talk; indeed, there are many who don't bother posting in character threads or bounce around between different character threads. People that post in character threads do because they like the character that is being discussed in the thread. The characters are part of the storyline, after all.

Respectfully, I do not get where you're coming from, especially with the notion that having a character thread on this forum is a recipe for factions and whatnot.

Hmmm....is there a quirky, funny character whom everyone loves?  'Cause I don't want to see him harpooned in the chest. That would make chem light sad.

I personally post in the Kaidan thread because it is nice to be in a group of similarly minded people who can commiserate with me over the lack of Kaidan in ME2.

Not to mention, all the awesome fanarts and fanfics.

Well, if anyone's interested, I have a new poem thingy here:
http://social.biowar...0366/blog/4957/

It seems really short to me, and too rhyme-y, but that seems to be the way it wishes to stay.  Posted Image

For those that missed it, the previous one is here:
http://social.biowar...0366/blog/4523/

And other than the fact that the male referred to it as "girly," I've decided I'm happy with it after all.  Posted Image
(especially since I got so many nice comments on it, thanks!)

Anyway, don't mind me!  Carry on!Posted Image

There are a couple of characters that fit the "quirky, funny" category.
I can't really discuss any Wash-esque happenstances because that could potentially ruin a character story.

I'll also add to this that I enjoy this thread because it's predominantly female gamers which in all my time of playing MMOs I never had the opportunity to interact with that many of given that I was always one of a very small number of real life woman in any guild I belonged too.  I have to qualify it as real life woman because  there were always tons of female toons, just most of them were played by men.

*pulls metal brand out of the tribal fire* Hush and take your tribal brand like a man! er... a woman.  A manly woman.

In seriousness, I have to agree.  Plus, after spending some time in one thread, you start to learn the people and enjoy catching up with them.  I 'd hazard to guess a good...*considers* 25% of our thread discussion isn't even related to Kaidan.  It is a "social" network.

I mean, since I've been here, I've learned about new and interesting shows/movies, been exposed to music from other countries I never would have heard otherwise, found great betas, and in general have had a great time discussing everything from what Kaidan's favorite pet would be to the comiseration of the new armor DLC.

I'd hazard to guess people stay in threads for the people in them almost as much as the person they are about.

I agree. Despite the fact that one would assume animosity between the Ash and Kaidan camps - given you have to choose to let one of the two die - there has always been a solidarity between the Virmire Survivor threads.

*sticks out booty for brand mark*

Yeah, but seriously, I don't venture out into the main forums usually because of the amount of jerks out there. If you have a minority opinion on say, ME2's shooter combat or ME2's plot, people will rake you over the coals about it.

There's divisiveness everywhere, regardless of what character you're a fan of. The thing I find refreshing is that I can come back to this thread and the ME1 LI group and not be ostracized for my viewpoint.

*pulls pants back up*

On second thought, the brand doesn't sound like it'd feel too good

Well, both characters are straight so there's no real rivalry love interest wise. And the choice is very equal - both of them being two perfectly able and equal people. Granted I have seen a lot of irrational hate for Kaidan from those who saved Ashley, but between the threads themselves they seem to be on very good terms.

We in the Ash thread have mostly given Kaidan a runthrough and I bet vice-versa here. Plus, the character's fates are bound together. What one gets the other is likely to get as well.
