Glad things are so rushed for you right now. My hubby does SAR with our local Sheriff's office.  Multiple calls last night at pretty ghastly hours.    Don't know how you manage these all nighters!

Well I am hurting tonight cause I didn't get much sleep, but I am one of those people who stay up at work at night. Drives my coworkers nuts cause they want naps!

I come bearing offerings (and shameless plugs), Kaidanites!

On the note of the character threads dividing the fandom too much, I have to say that I agree to a certain extent. Unlike Lady of Water, I fully support the existence of such threads and their purpose - I regularly post in the Tali and Garrus threads and have been known to show up in several others, including this one. But I do agree that sometimes there's a degree of competitiveness and rivalry that is unhealthy.

With this purpose in mind, I've created a group for those who want to show their support for all the characters -our favorite handsome and gentle-mannered biotic commando included. For those who wish to join in this effort, you need only click here. We're very open and as long as you don't troll or flame anyone else, you're more than welcome.

I for one want to see Kaidan back in action for ME3. He was one of my favorite party members in ME1 and, as I've stated previously here, a good friend to all my Shepards. But I don't want his inclusion to come at the expense of any of the ME2 party members or Liara. Who's with me?

Thanks for the link and the support.  I too want to see the ME1 LIs (and the ME2 LIs for that matter) come back and do so in substantial ways. 

Re posts, I've been out here a long time.  Longer than many -- I posted in some of the original BG threads actually and have seen a rise in competitiveness and attacks on other posters who hold a minority perspective, although not within or from this thread.  And as several of of mentioned to Lady, there are multiple reasons why a number of us post in this particular thread. Certainly Kaidan is one of them, but the opportunity to socialize with a large number of other  women gamers also has its appeal.  Certainly we can post in other threads and many do. But some of us feel most comfortable posting here.  I guess I don't understand why that is somehow less acceptable to some folks.

Anyway, appreciate you stopping by.  We're pretty quiet right now.  The day shift doesn't come on for a few hours but I'm betting you'll get more response when they do.

On that note, I think you have a good point. A lot of people are attracted to the same characters for the same reasons and I think it's fair to say that each of the threads has it's own personality. For instance, the Garrus thread seems to be very laidback and tongue firmly-in-cheek, the Jack thread seems highly analytical, and the Tali thread, when it's not being derailed, has a tendency to go into long and in-depth conversations about the ME universe and the species that inhabit it (mostly about quarians, of course).

I think it may be that the characters are why the posters come, but it's not why they stay - at least not always.

I have to agree that different threads do have different personalities. I know that every once in a while, lurkers will decloak in the KAAS thread. It' s always nice to see them and we do try to encourage them. 

I think we've all become more used to social networking and certainly the new forums seem to indicate some intent to foster a different sort of community than previous forums support.  I notice, for example, that some form groups which aren't part of the main forum threads.  Several of our original members went off in that direction. Some come back and say hi from time to time, some post in multiple threads, including the new group and this one.  So, it seems to me that posting is largely where one feels most comfortable with the topic and the participants.  Anyway,  good to talk with you although I think I'm starting to babble about now as is undoubtedly to be expected given what time it is in my zone!

Finally caught up to the thread, lots of interesting discussions going on. Sadly I'm not awake enough to contribute, nor am I good with words.
I do agree with what's been said by the others and couldn't have said it better myself, so that's me taking the easy way out while my eyes try to stay open

Oddly enough, my eyes picked up on something specific and I spend some time giggling like crazy over the mental image...

Well, this is what I was saying.
"I never save Kaiden, might as well save it and see what he says afterwards.
The whole cinematic came up with Ash blowing up, I couldnt watch, I just shut my eyes. Saddening.
Then I go down to Kaidan on the Normandy, looking to get more backstory outta him and I get "Dont worry Commander, were all in for the duration."
I was just like "This is all I get? I killed Ash for you! What the sh*t? I shouldve left your ass on Virmire! Im glad I killed you! You're WORTHLESS."
What a waste.
Sorry for bashing, but thats how I felt.

Blame the writing. Nobody acknowledges LIs in ME1.
