Alistair, good looking, lovely voice, but ....too much handwalking. In Dragon Age, my Cousland warden needs someone to hold her hand on occassion you know. To tell her it will all be alright, that they are there for her, that they see she's tired and scared at times as well. But no, it's about Duncan whaaaaaaa.
Alistair is funny and cute and I had no problems comforting him at first but I grew sick of it later on in the game. He had potential, but I'm too old for a romance like that. It's sweet and adorable but I can only take so much of that ;)

I did find that weird, as a male player. I mean, it makes sense as far as the story's concerned, but Alistair's a lot more experienced as a Warden then my character is. Shouldn't he have been leading us?

He should be, but....I think most players don't like their character to be lead through a game by a NPC ;) Just look at how many got all pissed at Kaidan NOT following Shepard blindly in ME2...*chuckles* The main character is the hero after all, he/she should lead, make the calls and in case of ME2, bed the entire crew whenever he/she feels like it because the hero is just that awesome.

Ah, yes, Carth does have the same problem. Though as you know, Collider, I have a rationalization for that in my head that I love to espouse when given the chance.

Indeed, though I think they did a great job in Jade Empire with Zu. He never felt like he was bossing you around, but he served in a nice "senior advisor and not really answering to you" sort of position. Course, I think Zu's the single best character in JE by a longshot.

To me alistair has been very lonely up until Duncan recruited him. I don't get the impression that he had any friends as such and he didn't really fit in with the templars given his sense of humour. He latched on to Duncan and became to attached to him because he was the first person in years to show any interest in him. In a way it is the same with my female warden. she showed an interest in him so he latched onto her. I understand his issues with not wanting to lead - he's never been asked for his opinion or been expected to have to think for himself.

Yes well, at one point...you need to grow up and in Alistair's case, grow up fast. And he does in a way, in the end, but really at times I wanted the option to smack some sense into him and tell him to grow up.
Like I said, I don't have the patience for that type anymore. No matter how cute he may be or how much he can make you laugh or how understandable it is. Not my cup of tea anymore. Said it before, a character like Alistair would make me all a flutter ten years ago ;)

And Zu, yes, liked that character. For the same reason I like Teagan in DA as well. Not the perfect looks, but being able to lead, be strong and yet show a soft side and a sense of humor is just lovely.
I love all of Teagan's cutscenes in DA, now there's a man. Though there's no telling what he would have been like as a fully developed party NPC. Oh and he's agile....just look at him dance...

Morning Jho, Shenzi & Sesh! Welcome

Well maybe it's Kaidan's maturity that draws me to him over Alistair- but I think it might actually be those puppy dog eyes... Oh yeah - and that butt !!!

Having fun yet?

Meh I can't stand Teagan, lol. Alistair is the only one for me in DAO,( although I wouldn't have minded having a go at Ser Gilmore or the templar in charge at the chantry in Lothering,,lol) just like Kaidan is the only one in ME, and Carth in Kotor

Well i feel the same about Gilmore as you do Teagan hehe...I don't have a ONE in DA oddly enough. Kaidan hit the right buttons for me, as did Carth though in a different way. Alistair started hitting the buttons but he took too long to find them lol
Sky from JE, um...let's say he touched the buttons but never really pushed them. Anomen was my first game romance I think so my buttons had not been pushed yet, which gave him the advantage.

And that ends the Jho's buttons story...hehe

@Jho - well Kaidan and Carth have the advantage over everyone else - its the voice, lol. Steve Valentine did a brilliant job as Alistair and there were some things he said that gave me goosebumps the way he said them, but its just not the same, lol

@Stephee - god help you if you have too much in common with me, lol. I am totally crazy & I'm probably old enough to be your mother, lmao.

For anyone that's been busy being resurrected by Cerberus and out of the loop I put my 3 random stupidities - Dreams, Booty, and Amoeba on ff.net today. Blame Star for that, lol

Morning all. Just stopping by before heading off to work.

I think right now it's Kaidan as my favorite with a tie between Carth and Alistair. Love all three for different reasons. There's also a few other male characters that are in games without PC romances persay that have caught my fancy over the years.

Morning Sapphy.

When I see that picture I can see the wheels turning in Shep's head. "Is he staring at my ass?"

@Stephee - well I don't remember having any kids 26 years ago but I had a very misspent youth so anythings possible, lol. and if you're 26 then I am old enough to be your mother at 47 in a couple of weeks, lmao. I don't think my mind ever got beyond a very silly 16 though.

@shenzi - well everyone's seen them all already anyway, lol. I am having trouble with rs4, my muse is being contrary and wants to jump ahead to rs5 even though I've told her she can't.

@Sesh: Just do what the muse wants. Going against her wishes normally means nothing gets done.

@Sapphy - I'm actually trying to ignore rs for the moment and get one of my other fics out of the way first. then I'll only have 1 normal one in the works, although that one will be a biggy I think, and I can concentrate on some of the rs ideas I've been adding to my list which is getting very long, lol.

@Sesh: Ok, well just remember to go where the ideas are. Otherwise, there's just staring at a blank page.

Anywho, time for work. See you folks later.
