Good evening everyone - Night crew is online!

I am on iPhone so can't answer questions right now it would take all night :)

The first time I played ME I didn't realize that Liara was being romanced so I got the jealousy cut scene. Yeah, I haven't seen it since. I find her a bit childish for my tastes & a little melodramatic.

@ Fort I learned a trick about sleeping - it comes a lot quicker if you TURN OFF The computer ;)

Carry On!

@Night: You can turn the computer off, but if you lay in bed with eyes wide open, it doesn't help.

Morning already everyone. For some reason, despite my sleep apnea, I am already awake.

Morning everyone... gosh I need coffee...

@Teen: I was a linguistic tester... which had one disadvantage: German games used to be censored. Luckily they've started to change and we get our games 18+, and not with green blood or without headshots. But anyway, it was fun... though you can imagine that having to go through a game over and over again, to check and control for text-based or functionality issues can be very tiresome, especially if you are chosen for a genre you don't get along with.

Having to check if bugs have been fixed can also be... difficult. Some of the functionality testers found bugs in situations that I never dreamed existed... trying to reproduce them to see if things were fixed could be incredibly frustrating.

I also realized that developers can be a royal pain in the butt... last minutes changes, ignoring the changes or advices of their testers and the idea that we have 2 weeks less time to finish our testing than originally planned are just a few of the issues we saw.

But I can't deny it was great fun, we were very mixed group of Europeans (mainly - for the linguistic testers) and of some Americans and Canadians (mainly functionality). A lot of us were in the same boat and we learned quickly to help each other out in all matters. Those memories are very dear to me... *sighs*

Oh and the worst thing that can happen to you as a tester... you get chosen to test a game you actually want to play, lol. Now that really sucks.

 1. What is the best armor for Kaidan? Anything but the Phoenix and Scorpion (Scorpion just bores me)

2. Is Kaidan your favorite love interest of all time? If not, who is? Yes, he is very very closely followed by Alistair (I really would have liked a real romantic conclusion with Obsidian's Atton Rand though, he is a great character)

3. How did you first get into ME1? I was already a major BioWare fan and JE/KOTOR (Also KOTOR II, while not BioWare was pretty much BioWare gameplay) were my most played games. So from when they announced ME I was waiting with eager anticipation :)

4. Did you paragon or renegade Kaidan? Or left him as is? Even on my one play through as a renegade Shepard I could not do that

5. What is your preferred romance conclusion for Kaidan in ME3? Ambiguous? Conclusive? I would like the choice for it to be completely in the player's hands, that BioWare give you an option for a definite conclusion or that it is left open for those who would prefer to imagine Shepard being Shepard after the player stops playing, iyswim?

6. How do you think Kaidan would get along with the squad mates in ME2? Fine, he is an easy going guy, who would probably come out of his shell a bit because of the way he has grown over the past couple of years, I think he would 'friend', Thane, Samara, Mordin and Garrus mostly as those are the ones he would gel with best. I think he would be friendly with Tali, but they don't really have much that would make them friends (in the same way that he states he wouldn't be interested in someone like Liara) Blimey... Have I over thought this?

7. Assuming there is (hopefully) banter in ME3, who would you most like to see Kaidan bantering with? For comedy value? Garrus, Jack and Mordin. Serious chat/confrontation? Miranda and Jacob (but I see him and Jacob eventually getting along when he realises Jacob isn't just another Cerberus 'grunt')

8. Pistol or assault rifle for Kaidan? Tch, pistol, definitely.

9. Besides being your love interest, what are some reasons you would save Kaidan on Virmire? He was the more 'logical', choice because of his special talents and his superior rank, but man, it still hurt killing my best girl pal :crying:

10. Did you know that Kaidan means "ghost story"? Do you think that has any relevance to his character? I think they just thought it was cool, lol.

11. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Kaidan in terms of his views? I think IRL I would get on really well with him because he is honest, honourable and just a good guy (I might want him to explore his sense of fun a bit more)
Also, thanks everyone for your kind thoughts the other day, my husband resting at home and seems a bit better (we still have to wait for them to do further tests, tut) Honestly, talk about everything happening at once! You can't write this stuff, no one would believe it....... <_<
On a lighter note our one year old has taken his first proper steps this past week :D (Also have kept up with the thread, but been lurking)

@Jen: Good to see you back and that things have relaxed a little for you. I also hope that the test results will turn out well. Additionally congratulations to you and your boy, now that time of mobility has come... that'll spice up the excitement level a bit, hehe.

Anyway, I'll attempt to drown myself in coffee... just to wake up all the way.

Don't worry, I'll do my best to stay on topic, just sometimes I can't help it and try to draw power and amusement from elsewhere.

I'm wondering if Kaidan is allergic to something... and if he was, to what.
Food? Animals? Plants?

1. What is the best armor for Kaidan?
Whatever it is he's wearing on Horizon. Why? Because it suits him. Although I would love to see him in some upgraded armor like Shepards.

2. Is Kaidan your favorite love interest of all time? If not, who is?
He is, though I have a soft spot for Kivan of BG2 as well (modded into a LI)

3. How did you first get into ME1?
You kidding? As a rabid Bioware fangirl I bought every game since BG1 without even a second thought. Though that has changed now, but that's another story.

4. Did you paragon or renegade Kaidan? Or left him as is?
Well my Shep is paragon so that rubbed off on Kaidan no doubt. Never ever tried renegading him, or my Shepard for that matter.

5. What is your preferred romance conclusion for Kaidan in ME3? Ambiguous? Conclusive?
Going all out, over the top romantic conclusion. A proposal would be nice but a happy end for sure and a fully voiced, happy ending scene...no textbox of doom.

6. How do you think Kaidan would get along with the squad mates in ME2?
He'll be suspicious of some, interested in others but he's professional enough to work with all of them. He may voice some concerns about extreme cases but there's a job to be done and  he'll help Shepard do it, no matter what.

7. Assuming there is (hopefully) banter in ME3, who would you most like to see Kaidan bantering with?
You know, the first name coming to mind was Jacob. But I don't know why lol. With giving it more thought, I would say Legion, Miranda and Jack. Mostly because I think the Alliance/Cerberus angle can still be fun to see, Legion banter is just hilarious no doubt and Jack and Kaidan may have something in common...despite her being mental ;)

8. Pistol or assault rifle for Kaidan?
Tssk...pistol. The AR is Ash's, please seperate the two characters Bioware.

9. Besides being your love interest, what are some reasons you would save Kaidan on Virmire?
Despite me loving Ash, Kaidan was the logical choice. Handpicked by Anderson, powerful biotic, higher ranked officer, medical skills, decryption and electronics etc etc.

10. Did you know that Kaidan means "ghost story"? Do you think that has any relevance to his character?
My RL name means birthday, Christ's birthday to be specific, so basically Christmas eh? Does it say something about me? Hell no, so I'm going to assume Ghost Story says absolutely nothing about Kaidan either ktnx lol Names and meanings...the fact that I know mine is bad enough :P

11. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Kaidan in terms of his views?
I really agree with him on the whole Cerberus thing. Though he could have given Shepard some room to explain herself but that's Bioware's dreaded writing, not Kaidans.

Fun questions, thanks.

I see there was a sleep discussion going on earlier.

I have fibromyalgia, insomnia comes with the territory. If I'm not tired enough to fall sleep right away I don't go to bed. Clocking watching drivies me insane, and typically once I wake up I'm awake instantly and have to get out of bed.

Sapphy do you need to sleep with a forced air mask for your sleep apnea? I can't imagine adapting to one of those.

@Shenzi: Yes, I have a CPAP machine. I can't imagine sleeping without it now. Before I was diagnosed though, I thought I'd never be able to sleep with it on. Plus, it has that whole unsexy thing to it.

@Jho: I'm with you on the names. My real name literally means hardened tree sap. And I have been known to introduce myself that way when feeling especially glib. Sometimes, names are just names. Posted Image

They aren't so sure about the meaning of my name. It's either something like 'little woman' or warrior (female version - yes, German differentiate between genders within a word)

Either way, I'm don't like my name all that much... but I suppose there's worse...

Nothing wrong with a bit pride over your own work - especially if it is worth being proud of (and I apologize for that odd sentence structure... I've had 4 cups of coffee and still can't fully wake up...)

The things I tend to be proud of are usually completly ignored, lol, typical - just my kind of luck. Oh wow, my morbid/black/pessimistic humor excels today - I see nothing but flaws and can't help but giggle about it.
I really should just turn to lurking mode for the rest of the day.... *swoosh*

I use a CPAP too - I can't sleep without it I stop breathing too often.

@ Fort I didn't mean any disrespect. I was trying to make you laugh, sorry it had the opposite effect :(

Hope everyone is having fun!

Hi Night, just working on my fic. This chapter is back to diving into way less light hearted material.

My meniere's is flaring up really bad today so I'll be here pretty much all day even if it' s just lurking while I work on this chapter,   My husband describes it as 'being my own amusement park ride' when I'm like this.

@Ki, yeah tell me, he seems much more 'naughty', than my other kids were at that age, lol! And thanks :-) Also, loving the Platypus of Death...

Morning, Night ;-) (Sorry I just love saying 'morning, night', it amuses me) How's it going on the night shift?

Anyone actually going to get the new DLC when it comes out? I am in two minds, neither of them are happy minds though..... Both still think the Hammerhead is BioWare's way of making fans realise that the Mako was OK!

The update was good though from a planet scanning point of view, let's hope that the BioWare ability to listen has already reached TPTB on the romance front!

My getting the DLC will depend on whether or not I'm in the mood to play ME2 by the time it's released. As it is now, no I won't be getting it just like I didn't get Kasumi either.
I'm in that "nope, not getting my money" mindset. Only thing to change that is some sort of Kaidan related announcement by Bioware, which will make me happy and when I'm happy...I'll spend money on ME2

I did get the Kasumi DLC and tbh, I really like it and really like her (she's no Ashley Williams, but she feels like a girlfriend, iyswim?) She also has some good skills. But I am really not sure about the Hammerhead one the one hand it is extra playtime in the game but on the other hand Casey mentioned that the HH has some part in a 'boss', fight and I can't be doing with how weak the HH is, unless a shield boost or better armour is included with the DLC it might be just another thing I can't complete <_<
