I think Kaidan does get jealous easily...no matter what he told Shep when they had that scene with Liara. It's like Shep said...he looked like he could have taken her head off. That's one of the interesting things about him in my opinion...I think that he digs deep to maintain that self control because I think that underneath it all he feels things a lot more intensely than a lot of other people. Some really great discussion going on! Wish I had the chance to participate more actively right now...

First of all, I agree with everyone who doesn't really see Shep and Kaidan doing the traditional marriage and settling down thing. My Shep will stay with him for as long as he'll have her (= forever), but neither of them will want to leave the Alliance/stop being a Spectre for a long time to come. There are so many things they'll want to do and places they'll want to go, that for them, both of them knowing they belong together will be enough. Maybe in a couple of years, they'll have a quiet little thing where they exchange rings, perhaps, but Shep isn't going to become Mrs Alenko, stay at home mom any time soon. Besides, they still have Cerberus to take down! 

I interpret Kaidan's character the same way Michelle does - and this to me is part of what makes him so attractive as a love interest! Scratch the surface of the quiet, rational man with the ironclad self-control and there's a whole lot of feeling underneath, I love it! This is also why his falling for Shep is so sexy, because you know he knows it's SO wrong, but he just can't help himself, emotion ends up overriding all logic. <3

hehe I see where you are going with that. I still have the raw video of that scene. I know there is a way to make them with flash, and I have made them with flash, but they don't look high quality. I will talk to one of the designers here at work and see if they can help me,

Chrome is a lot simpler...I think that with Firefox all the updates eventually bog the thing down. It got to where it wouldn't even let me download my Fallout 3 mods so I tossed the thing.

I personally don't care if Shep & Kaidan don't get married but I do want some sort of acknowledement that they will be together. I'm not sure though whether Shep will stay with the alliance or as a spectre - by the time she defeats the reapers she will probably have had a gutful of the council anyway. I just take clues from stuff she says :to Grunt about not wanting to do this forever, & to Gianna Parasini - "must be nice having a job you really enjoy".



I'm really hoping that the relationship resolution doesn't come across as just something that was tacked on at the end. I'm trusting that BW will do the right thing by the fans after they made a big deal about keeping the ME1 LI's alive for ME3.

Personally, my Shep would love a chance to finally put all this "saving the galaxy" behind her and have a chance at a more normal life. That does not mean she'd be content to be a stay at home kind of wife/mother, but getting married should mean something more than that.

I think this is where the role playing comes into play. I don't see my Shepard as a free spirit by any means...more of a tough 'get the job done' kind of girl. 

Without the role play element...the backgrounds all seem to point to the fact that Shep would want to settle down.

Spacer background...a lot of times children of successful marriages(and I know we don't know much about her Dad but it sounded successful) often follow the parents footsteps by doing the same.

Colonist background...after losing her family I would think she would long to settle down and have a family of her own.

Earthborn...having no family...I would think she would want the one thing she's never had.

Just my viewpoint.

I'm with those that think marriage and a family wouldn't be out of character for Shepard. I think that after all of this Reaper business, Shep has earned an early retirement. I don't, however, see her as the big white dress wedding sort of gal. I see something akin to the end of the Pirates of the Caribbean ending, where Elizabeth and Will get married during the final battle.

Haha, I consider myself a big, squishy romantic when it comes to movies and books and games, but when my husband and I decided to get married, it was because I was pregnant and we decided it was the easiest way to deal with health insurance and other paperwork.  If we had no other considerations, we would have been happy living in sin with our illegitimate kid, just to horrify our families.

lol That's what we did We have an 8 year old child, paper work is easy(ish) here so no need to marry for that, but another thing I forgot to consider and mention are religions. I guess that's not really an issue if you go to the court house, but I come from a very catholic background and my parents were horrified I wouldn't get my daughter baptised.. If I got married my family would expect it to be in a catholic church, but I deny my religious background and technically my husband is protestant.. ! He'd have to get converted, my best friend actually had to do this, or her protestant husband did...  Seemed like a lot just to get married in a church. And now they're divorced too! Ha! 

Okay now I have a rainy cloud on my head, *checks out Kaidan's bum*  Better!!

I don't know...honestly I wouldn't object to a marriage/engagement...but it's not a requirement IMO...I'm sort of on the fence about it...all I really want to see is some sort of satisfying conclusion for Kaidan/Femshep's relationship that sort of solidifies their intentions to be together and continue to meander around the galaxy, making lots of love and putting fear into the hearts of those who would threaten the good citizens of the galaxy...

In regards to seeing Kaidan do some "saving".....yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that...even if it's something on a relatively small scale (like someone mentioned having him biotically push away husks intent on getting Shep), or maybe having him push her out of the way of a hail of gunfire, land on top of her and have another one of those "faces really close/almost kiss" moments that we saw in the first game....of which are almost as sexy as the actual love scenes...

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has sat here wondering how Kaidan would react to the new crew...I think Jack's "bluntnesss" would put him off at first, but once they started talking to each other, they'd likely get along well...as has been said, they do have quite a bit in common.

Yeah, I think Kaidan may feel somewhat of a kinship with Jacob, but there'll be some hearty distrust there due to the cerberus angle, as there would be with Miranda...

Garrus, Tali, Dr. Chakwas, Joker would be a comfort to him methinks, old familiar faces and people that he both liked and respected...and with Kaidan around, you know Joker is going to comment..."wow, now it REALLY is like old times"...

Thane, yah as has been said I do agree that Kaidan would likely have some issues with Thane's philosophy regarding killing, but I also think that Thane's calm and collected personality would eventually win him over...

I'm not sure about Samara...Grunt, I think he'd be amused by...

Ah...now on the flip side, what do you think the new crew members would think of Kaidan?

I found that scene hilariously funny instead of romantic though. That being said, I could see it happen actually. The final battle and before they start, Kaidan grabs her by the arm and proposes. 
Oh I dunno, it's not what we want in the end..it's how Bioware is going to handle all the choices they gave us. Just so many different LI's now...

I also don't get how he is boring, but that's preference, for example I've always thought Tali wasn't boring per se, I just never developed an interest in her...she's too generic for me, but a lot of people think otherwise...it not because a character is boring, it's because people have different preferences.
