Hey, just dropping by to show you something wonderful. If you like ME music that is. This video presents tracks (extracted) from the first game not included on the soundtrack. Better: you can download them all, if you miss that Normandy tune from the beginning of the game, or Ilos confrontation music. Or the one during Shepard's speech. Elevator medleys! Well, all of it. Brings back good memories.

They've modeled the class so much around Shepard that I don't see how any other person could ever fight like that and not die.
I just assume he'll get his own class that doesnt contradict what we came to understand about him in ME1.
I always saw it as Kaidan seeking a balance to reduce strain, seeking out a  fighting style where biotics are not the sole tactical element (especially considering he never liked to seriously hurt people with them); increasing his utility rather than, basically, weaponizing himself like the ME2 Sentinel does.

Yeah sometimes I wonder how some characters became the best of the best with the few skills they have ...and lack of armor ;)

I do hope they give the squadmates a bit more skills in ME3, especially Kaidan who could be tweaked to work so well with whatever your Shepard could do. More biotics? Sure. More of a hacker? No problem. Field Medic? Yes please.

Morning... ffs it's annoying to have a large construction site just across the street... I wanna start throwing things at them...
As for Kaidan's class, as long as they keep it in perspective with ME1, I don't care what they call his class. Maybe he got some additional training during the last two years - that would work for me as well.

*rant on*
And on a little side-note about ratings... I keep being startled over priorities on most of those sites. Violence seems to be much more accepted than sex... you know, the act of physical excitement responsible for the existence of most people on this world.
"WHAT?? Two lover want to do what? No.. ban it, ban it!! Oh... what's this? Someone describes in great detail how a dagger is plunged through ever major organ, as well as the agony it causes? SOLD!!"
Forgive me - certain things just frustrate me. Glorification of violence usually comes with alienation of sex, which seems (emphasizing seems - I'm no expert) to lead to more and more young people leading to violence and not knowing anything about sex... hurrary what a lovely idea. *rant off*

Going back to topic... I want more than 30 seconds for the Kaidan love scene... ya hear me BW?

If you'd like to discuss that topic, Kioux, I recommend this group:

social.bioware.com/group/1826/

It's an interesting topic but may not be suitable for this thread.

I agree, moreover the other part of this issue is that many teens now see sex and violence as the same thing. That violence is a part of sexual excitement. Maybe because of the high levels of explicit violence we are exposed to while 'shielding', them from something great and necessary  <_<

That's why I stopped right there, and in a certain way it does concern, especially considering the mainly adult fanbase for Kaidan (and other ME characters) and a lot of the story content we write. But as I said, I'll drop it and leave it be.

*waves little white flag*

Btw, Jho... would you allow one of your works being used by me as a T-Shirt motive?

I understand completely what you're saying, but fanfiction.net is in a harder position than most places for creative output, because there are many authors and copyright holders who look at fan fiction as nothing but infringement upon their intellectual property.  If fanfiction.net is going to continue to survive without litigation, they do have to be careful with what they accept on the site.

It would be much easier to shut a site down that is hosting x-rated material using an author's characters and setting, than it would be if the stories were more "innocent"...even if the material is r-rated and violent.

Well let me drop my 2 cents on this issue. People are more likely to be sexually active than to be violent on the scale illustrated in fiction or media. Most people cannot realistically emulate much of the violence shown in writing, movies, tv, etc. Whether because it is physically impossible, it's outside their morals or personality, it's against the law, or some other factor.

Therefore sexuality is seen as something of more corrupting influence, and imminent danger. Of course this is for the most part purely dependant on the culture - some societies have sexuality as a rather nonissue and instead revile depictions of violence more.

@Teen: I do understand the problematic nature, and I think I was heading a bit further off from just publishing websites. It's a general thing that bugs me. So I understand that ff.net has to be careful and take precautions, and hell, if aff was as nicely organized as ff.net, I wouldn't even have started publishing on ff.

@Collider: I'm not sure how to take that posting. I'd be glad if people's sexual activity is higher than their violent behavior... really. Sex is a normal part of life and to just say it may seem like a 'corrupting influence' really gets to me. However I am annoyed with people not knowing or caring a damn thing about their sexual behavior - I also admit (and yes, that may sound drastic) I'm annoyed with pregnant teenager (just as an example).
The problem is that so many see sex as dirty or unnatural (seriously... ) that it any open discussion about is silenced because it is embarrassing or dirty or wrong. So if it is silenced... how the hell are people (especially kids and teens) supposed to handle it? It's a taboo, so you don't talk... so you learn from pornos and websites... *sighs*

Ok... really stopping now... lol. I actually get angry at things like this, and I apologize.. besides my sentences probably do not make much sense. I'm still trying to wake up. Can someone give me a Kai-Kai please?

Note that I am not saying that I agree with those people who think of depictions of sexuality as worse than those of violence. I am trying to see why they may see depictions of sexuality as more offensive than depictions of violence. I don't necessarily agree with their reasoning.

Haha, nothing to apologize for, I have the same frustration when my mother-in-law gets upset when my son is watching a show and two characters start to kiss.  Really?  Out of everything on television, kisses are what are going to corrupt my kid?  Anyway...here's a Kai-Kai!

@Teen: Thanks a lot - and it's sparkle eye Kai... *sighs*

I had a seminar about the meaning and handling of death in today's society... and the fact that it is turned into a taboo-topic. How are people supposed to deal with a topic if you are not allowed to ask questions.

Sadly, it seems the same way with sex... oh the horror. Oh well, while all those who consider it corrupt will just miss lots of things... I cherish my gutter thoughts - Hurray.

Now... I can't decide which would make the best t-shirt motive... L2 Headache, Sentinel (with shirt), Picking up the Pieces or Thinking... (all Jho's works... ) any help with my decision would be welcome :)
