Aw, what's he going to say then now that he outranks Shepard?

She's a Spectre.... she still does outrank him in most cases.  And it'll be more obvious.

Yeah somehow I think he will still say it.

And when he does, there will a puddle of melted Sia to clean up off the couch.

That's a good image for later in your new fic to work with, even if it takes 20 or 30 chapters to get Avery and Kaidan to that point.  Posted Image

@Sage...oh, my Shep is 'mannish'. She swears, she's more likely to solve a situation by shooting/punching something rather than negotiate. I imagine she could probably drink most of the Normandy crew under the table. Kaidan brings out her softer side because it is there, she just likes to keep it deeply buried so no one will think she's weak. He's one of the few, possibly the only, who gets to see it. It's why, particularly in GT3, he isn't worried about the shenanigans she pulls. He knows a part of her the rest probably won't ever know.

is your shep a renegade? not that she has to be.  i like your read on her relationship with kaidan. that was sort of what i read into it also. it's why i've come to like kaidan over all these playthroughs - even with horizons (which sucked) their relationship just plays out as more complex. it's really kind of nice to see that in a VG - not just the "i'll chat you up until the sex scene before endgame" but something that develops, cools, grows again, etc.

i tend to play my shep as a bit of an ice queen, which i like, though there are moments where that sort of slips a little thanks to the actual dialog options. anyhow - am actively working on a fanfic here. we'll see how it goes...

Next chapter is up for those that have been reading it Just Because Horizon Was That Bloody Awful Posted Image.

The story is staying out of fluff territory for the next 2 chapters, which were originally supposed to be a single chapter, but the whole thing was becoming way to long so now it's in 2 parts.

Okay, I've finally managed to finish my Thane/Shep/Kaidan story. Chapter 24 is up and is the end. I'm going to leave it alone for a couple of weeks and then go through and edit/proofread the whole thing at one go but I have to step away and get some perspective. I could have kept going but I felt like I finally got where I'd intended to go and any more would just be self-indulgent.

Depends on my Shep. Kaet is who I write and she's more paragade than anything. Sometimes punching someone or blowing the gas tank under their feet is simply a quicker means to an end, just as cutting Mordin off in the middle of a bout of vocal diarrhea does. She always does what she thinks is right, her methods are what get a bit iffy. I blame a lack of Kaidan. She was much more Paragon in ME1 than ME2, lol. A lack of Alliance rules she has to answer to, coupled with frustration with their apparent inaction in ME2, make her a bit more renegade, but she's still out to help the best way she can. She and Mordin have a bit of the meeting of the minds when it comes to killing someone to save lives. Like the bartender in afterlife poisoning humans.

Well that's good cause Chapter 13 is almost finished...and should be up tomorrow morning my time 0700 pst / -8 hrs gmt. (okay when I get home from work.) Posted Image

Tonight I work on Chapter 14.  I don't know how far I will get, it's Wednesday night which means it could be bad, could be good.  14 will go fast if it's good / slow if someone gets shot... we will see.  Did I ever tell you I really live in a small town now, to hear me talk you'd never believe it.

wha? huh? what bartender? i totally missed that.

i like kaet. she's a great take on shep. i think it's harder to get a read on shep's motivations because they are so changeable. that's part of why i made my "guide" to the backstories, because i was having so much trouble coming up with how i felt like roleplaying shep. i'm funny that way - i need to make the char in my own mind before i can settle into playing her.

randomly, speaking of stuff i *totally* missed. i have made - oh, i dunno how many alts - at least 20 - that i'd play through eden prime just to get a feel for them and then abandoned nearly all of them.

on this last playthrough, i got this cutscene at the end of eden prime that i had NEVER seen before. if you holster your weapon and walk towards the railing behind the beacon, you get this scene that sweeps out to show the devastation to the colony and kaidan and ashley talk about it. i couldn't believe i'd missed that. i thought i'd played every part of that game. i'd honestly never really payed attention to the background there.

it felt very moving for my colonist shep to look out and see that. iguess i took it as a sign that this latest shep ishould be and remain my main. lol

Wow, something I need to look for, then, cause I've never seen it.  Where on the railing. Every time I get near the beacon THAT cut scene triggers.  Not that I don't mind rescuing Kaidan... but I'd like to see that.

Wrong bartender.  The batarian bartender in the lower level of Afterlife hates humans and poisons you if you order a drink from him.  Fortunately, Shep is superhuman and survives.  Though if you bring Garrus, he tells you, "I should have warned you."  Really, buddy, you SHOULD have warned me?   <_<

The one in the Dark Star on the Citadel is the one that puts more stuff in the thing more stuff goes in.

the cutscene i mean is before the beacon cutscene. the beacon cutscene triggers by activating the beacon -  getting up next to it - getting the circle on the beacon and hitting the "E" key. the cutscene i'm talking about just triggers with NO clicking on anything.

i figured out that you only get it if your weapons are holstered (put away, i mean - Q). you walk past the beacon to the railing and suddenly the camera swings up and wide and you get this cutscene illustrating the devestation of eden prime. i always had my guns out so i never got it before.

it's quite cool. i really loved it because it made me realize what a big deal eden prime was. to me it had always just been the tutorial, you know?

and after that, you can still click on the beacon and get the rescue kaidan/saren/medbay cutscene sequence.

I have the 360 version.  No clicking required, you just walk up to it.  I guess I need to put my weapons away to experiment.
