Haha, I think "mature" means using euphemisms with fancy words, while "graphic" means you just flat out describe stuff.

I like "graphic"!  (although mature is okay too, when done right)

Graphic has to do with the amount of detailed used.  Mature describes the audience your work is intended for.

I would guess they would consider "adult themes" things such as controversial subjects, morality, just and just killings, drug use, etc...

hmm...it's sort of funny you have to tag it at all. i guess i'm sort of the mindset that if it offends you, stop reading it/playing it/listening to it. never really got censorship, ever.

It's to protect younger readers from reading sexually explicit writing. IMO, it's a good thing, probably because I was one of those kids that stumbled into an extremely explicit fic when I was 7.

And people wonder why I'm so strange

I love XKCD.

I just can't wrap my head around the question of, what if your graphic violence has a solid literary grounding? 
Like 300.  Severed heads in a historical setting.  Is that explicit?  Mature?  What about
something like Henry and June?  It's got some pretty detailed
descriptions, but it's not really porn, is it?  But maybe I'm just warped from looking up what Shakespeare was really talking about when I was but a child.

Yeah it looks like it was there in ME1 too...WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?!?!?! I must know. Childhood accident? Fight with neiborhood kids/brother/father? Terrible battle bot project gone horrible wrong? Sporting event? Vehicle accident? BaAt? Vyrnus? Early mission?

I grossed out a friend by making up a story where Luke and Han kissed when I was in junior high school.  At least, she said she was grossed out, but she still wanted to know how it ended. This was before I even knew this was a thing that other people did.  I was just bored out of my mind.
