Yes Sesh has been on and off for the last few days.

Jho that is good news about the pictures, you know we love them but it's nice to know others do too and care also.

Firstly I'd like to say sorry for your loss, nightoldie (I hope I'm not out of line saying that)



Secondly I'd like to say that I am happy that this character Kaidan has inspired more people to start writing or continue writing, and be passionate about making and reading fanfiction.

Ive always thought that Kaidan was Bi-sexual. Is this true? Is there anything in the story that even hints this? Or am I just over-analyzing?

at one point, it was intended for ashley and kaidan to be a LI for a shep of either gender but that content was cut before the game was released. as for the game as it is in retail version, it is not possible for male to romance Kaidan.

i can see your point jho. Kaidan thinks things through and that would be considered out of character for him (amongst other things:whistle:)

Doubtful, Bioware has taken a specific stance on the gay romances in Mass Effect sadly. They are even denying Liara and femshep are basically a f/f romance, stating Liara has no gender heh.

In all honesty, I hope they create a new character for the gay community instead of altering a character like Kaidan who's been straight for two games now. Well...one game and a cameo It wouldn't bother me if he were bi, but I would find it odd if he became bi for the last game all of a sudden.
Then again, Shepard has been out for two years, who knows what could  have happened.

I don't think we can say for certain that Kaidan was intended to be bisexual. All we have is the word of one person from Bioware who also said that he wasn't absolutely certain. It may have been that he knew there were same sex lines from Shepard recorded and he assumed that that meant that Kaidan and Ashley were to be bisexual.

In reality all of the romances with the possibility exception of Jacob have recorded romance lines from Male and Female Shepard. I think that just means that they recorded those lines as convenience (may as well record a lot of dialog just from reading off the script while the voice actors are there in the studio) in case they used them - after all, 8/9 out of 9 romances all being bisexual is extremely farfetched.

I never took Kaidan as being or seeming bisexual at all. Just because he's not beating his chest trying to be Mr. Macho doesn't mean he swings both ways.

Agreed, Kaidan never seemed the type to me either but neither was I paying attention to it.  But with the few dialogues per character we have in mass effect, a romance is just defined by a few extra lines and the cutscenes. Didn't someone figure out the romance vs friendship dialogues and how little difference there actually is? Think I read a comment somewhere..hmm.

The romances themselves in these games are like you said - just a few line changes relatively. Probably any single romance in both games could fit under 10 or 15 minutes of total content (in terms of dialog specific to the romance). Unfortunately I never got the feeling that Male Shepard was developing a friendship with Kaidan. I could be wrong because I haven't played either games recently, though. May need my memory refreshed.

I would have liked the option to be because someone level headed like Kaidan would be a good friend to Shepard I think.

I do welcome friendship paths ala DA in ME3. Would be very good.
