Firstly I'd like to say sorry for your loss, nightoldie (I hope I'm not out of line saying that)
Secondly I'd like to say that I am happy that this character Kaidan has inspired more people to start writing or continue writing, and be passionate about making and reading fanfiction.
Thank you Coll. We actually had a little repreve and he is home, but he is not long for this world. Thanks for thinking of me.
Jho, okay so armor it is....
I was writing Chapter 15 and nodding off, woke up with Kkkkkkkkkkkkk across the screen. Think I need to take a nap. See you all later.
These fics were updated yesterday:
Mass Effect Memories by quantumparadigm
Life on the Normandy by pmartin33 (warning this chapter was pretty graphic smex)
Tiger Tiger Burning Bright by Sesh
The Double by Leg
The Weekend by Kass Black
ME2: The Aftermath (male Shep) by SirX
To Make a Hero By the_wierdwolf
Walls Can Be Breached (can't imagine who would have written this tripe)
How the Holo Got There by Sage
Because Horizon Was so Bloody Awful by Shenzi
I know that some are not from the board, but I was trying to be fair and I don't know if maybe they have a different name here then on FFN
Have Fun!!!
Night, I’m sorry about the kitty
I think we’re all inspired to write fic because ME2 is just so disappointing in the romance department, if there was a better storyline with more Kai Kai, we’d all be replaying it instead of writing our own stories about it.
General warning about my fic, it vers away from fluff territory in the current chapter but I promise a quick return to it!

The romances themselves in these games are like you said - just a few line changes relatively. Probably any single romance in both games could fit under 10 or 15 minutes of total content (in terms of dialog specific to the romance). Unfortunately I never got the feeling that Male Shepard was developing a friendship with Kaidan. I could be wrong because I haven't played either games recently, though. May need my memory refreshed.
I would have liked the option to be because someone level headed like Kaidan would be a good friend to Shepard I think.
I do welcome friendship paths ala DA in ME3. Would be very good.
More conversations and definitely party banter ala DA.

Good morning everyone. *stretches* It's great to sleep in. Watch T.V. on the couch. Try to watch Bones and not be able to because Shenzi didn't want you about Liara style derailment of one of your favorite characters. Although while on that subject, I totally claim King of the Thread for noticing Kaidan's scar.
It took me by surprise too, you actually got through it all before me.
I would put it on while writing and kept having to restart episodes because I'd realize it was half way through one and I couldn't recall any of it.

I usually don't show anyone what I've written till I've gotten close to a completed draft but for the last chapter I kept tossing just the rough dialogue in front of Star while I figured out Shepard's mental state and how in how much detail I should go and how much I should be torturing Kaidan. Then once I got down to a completed draft I showed it to Sia and another half of it went into trash and the Shenko ending got added on.

I was writing this for a long time before I was brave enough to print it. Months of slow nights at work do that. We are very limited by what we are alowed to do on the floor at the comm center. They don't want us to have the iphones on the floor (which is why I sometimes disappear on you guys). God forbid we should watch tv or anything else that would keep us awake. So I started to write in the computer and then remove it in the morning to a thumb drive. It works and keeps me alert for the officers.
I started writing after reading some fics because I was thinking that what if she had hidden her feelings so long that she didn't know what to do with them. It is a little silly at the begining because I notice that is the way it is. New realtionships always have that young silly does he still like me/ does she still want me / need for reassurance in it. -
The reason 1-14 went up so fast is because I already wrote up to ilos and had read and reread it so many times. Every once in a while something new comes to mind (Like the dress, I don't know where that came from, but I liked it)
but the deep chapters (like post Vimire) they are already written
Hope that makes sense. You didn't really want to know all that did you....I have diarrhea fingers this morning.
Sorry

I tend to just start with one image in my head of something I haven' t seen done before. In my case it was Shepard repeating the line "Kaidan, go now" to him after he's released from captivity on the Collector's base because that would be the overriding image of his nightmares for the past 2+ years. Never would have actually hit the page without encouragement from everyone here.
Was supposed to be 3 chapters and uh hi2u chapter 12 on my monitor.
And if Chem's still lurking out there I want more Kyler and Kaidan!

It's not ME fanfic, it's a DA piece but I mention it here periodically because it's so frigging addicting. It's updated every M/W/F with a new chapter.
If you want something to read during downtime at work I highly recommend A Mid Winter's Thaw.

To be honest though Argument was written in the middle what got me started was the gym scene in Chapter 8. We were here on the KAST talking about showers, towels and booty and I asked about a gym. Don't know why it came to me but that is how that angry scene happen - and it's really one of my favorites. Then things came to me - like the Survey - that was written seporate and I put it in when it fit. I don't have much of ME 2 written but I do have the meeting after the Collector's base written. It just came to me the other day, and I wrote it down. It isn't completely worked out, but mostly because that is how I write.
@ Everyone - Just to confirm Shenzi is right I write too fast - Here is Chapter 15 - it's just fun little fluff,
Have Fun Everybody-- We are one more day closer to ME3!!!! (and more Kaidan (or pitchforks, tar and feathers with sequins))

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat, Night. I lost one of my cats last year, and it still hurts to think about him. I had lost other pets growing up, but he and his brother were the first pets that were mine since I moved out, so it was especially rough. My sympathies for you.
On the subject of writing, it normally takes me awhile to write anything because I mull it over in my head for quite some time. I'm actually more of an auditory person than a visual one, so I have to listen to music and then I have to feel like I could hear their thoughts or dialogue for the scene. Which is why my stories focus on just the one of them really in each chapter. I also find that sometimes I'll set out to write a Shep chapter, and it turns out it needs to be a Kaidan chapter, or vice versa.

It's actually helped writing Kaidan's PoV first, his personality is pretty well established but I've been finding out who Kate is in more depth as I write each chapter.
