Ok question... Anyone else notice the differences in how Carth Onasi and Kaidan are voiced? Hubby thinks I'm crazy, thinks they sound exactly alike, only after I told him they were the same VA. But Kaidan's sounds almost huskier... Is it just me?

Nope, not just you. Kaidan's got a somewhat deeper voice.

Thirded. I think they sound noticeably different. I mean, yes, obviously the same VA, but clearly different characters.

Carth is far more snarky for one!

Carth's voice does seem higher pitched. He also talks faster. Kaidan's voice acting is usually very chillaxed.

I wonder what motivated him to have Kaidan sound deeper. What about his description screamed Sexy! Husky! ness.

Carth always just sounds more sarcastic and snippy. Could be the lines they wrote for him... were quite funny at times.

Only a couple of Kaidan's lines carry that attitude across... where I perk up and go Carth? You're back?!

But normally it's just Kaidan... smart controlled, strong Kaidan

I think Raphael Sbarge did a great job using tone and inflection to differentiate the two characters.  He must have known what people were going to say when Bioware cast him in a similar role (the leading male/love interest) in two games close to each other.  Even though people were going to complain no matter what, I like how the two are subtly different.

LOL, I'm reading this during Lost commercial breaks.  I'm sure your story will end up more satisfying and logical than this.

@chem: that poster's wondrous! I actually got a weird look from my husband, as I was sitting at the laptop making funny/happy/giggly noises. I Pilot. (And I so need to talk someone into buying me the Farscape box set for a belated birthday present. Too bad my family's all broke... *snorts*)

At least they've come out in more convienent and cheaper packaging now.

Yes, Carth's voice is generally lighter than Kaidan's, and I did miss some of the banter/laughter in ME. Would love a good couple dialogue heavy Kaidan interactions w/some humor. Or smexy innuendo. Or both! Cause Sbarge chuckling? Turns me into fangirl goo.

@Chem: So true. Never managed to get the original discs cause of the ludicrous packaging. Will pick it up eventually, I'm sure.

You’d think they hadn’t seen each other in months, rather than just this morning. Standing there ogling each other right in front of me. That has got to be the sappiest pair of smiles I’ve ever… what the ****, is he going in for a kiss? Alenko? Staff Commander by-the-book/more-discreet-than-my-Grandmother Alenko? But that… that is way more tongue than I expected either of them to include when kissing in public. And now they’re both turning blue. That’s kinda freaky. I approve.
