Ashidan really needs to have ended with Horizon.

Kaidan is higher ranked and is more collected.Sialater wrote...
Yeah, if they do develop the characters separately and don't treat them as the same person, then yes, I can see Kaidan as a Spectre.
I don't really know why I can't see Ashley as one.

That is one thing I'd like to learn more about. We hear from Chakwas and other sources that Kaidan is a decorated soldier, with mountains of achievements. Knowing that is nice, and makes the Virmire decision a little less scarring for my Shepards, but I'd really like to know how Kaidan earned them exactly. I'd love to hear those tales - how one operation turned out in a completely unexpected way and Kaidan ended up prevailing against seemingly impossible odds or something. So I think there's a lot of potential for us to learn about how and why Kaidan has so many medals.TeenZombie wrote...

Other than the higher rank, there is still the issue of her grandfather. It would be hard to believe that the turian Councillor would be willing to make a Williams a Spectre.
Also, as much as I love Ash, and think she's a capable soldier, she didn't have an illustrious career before joining the Normandy's crew. Kaidan was hand picked by Anderson, which means he must have had a noteworthy record up to that point.

I'm not so certain. I think the Reapers are going to take one look at Kaidan in his heart shape boxers and go "Damn, this guy means business. We better pack up and leave."
If one had the foresight to save Kaidan in ME1, I suspect this is how the Reapers will be defeated in the next game.

yeah. instead of a specter, they've made him into a SpecBer: special reconnaissance and boxer services.
or...maybe not. weighing in on the specter question, i'm with sia - as ashaiden - nope. on kaidan's own...mebbe. whose fanfic had that? it was well done there, but somehow i wonder if bioware would bother. they barely mentioned shep's own spectre status...or specter. i have american spellcheck - it has issues with that word.

I seriously hope they come up with separate storylines for Ashley and Kaidan in ME3.
Ashidan really needs to have ended with Horizon.

Good morning, Night. Finally got a semi-function computer at work so I'm back to my lurking status, lol. Wondering if I can get away with Jho's lovely trio as wallpaper.

Hi, Shenzi!! Yeah, having my work comp down for 3 days has put a real cramp in everything including my fic writing since I do most of it in my down time at work. However, ASW2 is moving easily so I should be able to make up time.
@Jho...your beat up Kaidan had perfect timing. I just abused the poor darling (not in a good way) and when Shepard finds out, someone will pay.

huh. slightly off topic, but playing through ME1 again, i'm suddenly hit with the thought that banes = illusive man?
you remember banes? the guy was working on top secret alliance stuff (via wiki), then was supposedly dead, then is making threats. everyone who found his "body" went missing thanks to cerberus. and the illusive man sure doesn't look like a normal dude - more like he's been tampered with. maybe shepard isn't the first to be "brought back"
looked in the "read this before posting spoilers" thread and saw nothing on the guy.
well i guess it's not off topic. am collecting theories for a possible FF take on me2
