This thread is my home page, I didn't know we were moved.

@ Star I got the confrontation even though I said Kaidan was special to Liara. (Okay the first time I played I didn't realize that she was hitting on me okay.  No one had told me about the LI thing and I am old that's my excuse)  I still got the confrontation I think because I told her she was special too. When he asked I told him I wasn't into her but still got the confrontation. go figure.

And More Kaidans for all!!!

Oh, sure, now it works.  :pinched:

If you had the thread open before the forum move, and tried to post, it didn't work.  I did the same thing, before I knew what the heck was happening.

I know that renegade-ing Kaidan or paragon-ing Ashley won't carry over into ME3, but I do wish that it was possible, it would make it worth it to have a renegadeKaidan runthrough.  I wonder if they'll have the same sort of mechanic available for Kaidan/Ash again?

Yeah I watched the video of renegade Kaidan, I didn't like it. Guess it goes too much against my grain.

But in RL I am not that sweet ... no really ... honest ... cookie anyone?

Hi!

Yes and we have to stay on topic, so talk about Kaidan, lots of Kaidan.

Oh that's what we do anyway...

Strawberries & Cream anyone?

That was the only thing I could think of that I really did differently, besides killing the Rachni queen, but at the end of the game the two of them were going on about "now humanity can show them how awesome we are" and "it's about time we forced them to give us the respect we deserve" and "bow down before us, puny aliens".  (That might be an exaggeration.  :P)  No matter how many times I argued that "we should work with the aliens to protect the galaxy" they'd say, "No, you were right.  Aliens suck."

Hehe, yes we must stay on topic as much as possible, though I don't think we'll have trouble with that. When you get a gaggle of females and honorary females in a group, we can go on forever. :innocent:

Here's an interesting thought: How many calories a day do you think Kaidan needs? I mean, don't soldiers in general require a lot of calories? What about a biotic one? Wouldn't the L2s add to those needs?

My mind is boggled.

Biotics, according to the Codex, need 4000 calories a day.

There was something in the Codex that seemed to imply that Biotics got extra rations, but their math was off by a lot.  They didn't even meet the basic requirements for a soldier today.  Not an American one, anyway.  I would assume it is a lot higher than a normal soldier.

Also, the idea of Kaidan pigging out on snacks at midnight just amuses me to no end.

I know that the fics talk about biotics needing more food, but is it actually in the game?

Edit: nevermind / I need to read my codex apparently.

Yeah, I saw the 4k calories thing for biotics... but I dunno how much sense that would make for a physically active male biotic soldier. Essentially, a biotic needs 2k more calories than an average person... but that makes no sense for an active soldier that uses biotics.

How much do soldiers need anyway? o.o

I think my husband was allotted 3K in Basic.

So, an active duty biotic might need 5k?

ooooh! hawt! i've not seen this one before.

*stands back. admires the view*

vaary nice.

so we got moved? huh. well as long as we're not locked.

biotics + food: i loved this idea. maybe *thats* why kaidan is down near the mess hall all the time. biotic kaidan = endless coffee breaks.  or would you have to eat straight protein shakes?  eating that much would be a pain, actually.

and i must add, i love renegade dialog, but not renegade choices. mebbe that's weird. i dunno. i guess it's my fondness for jane austen: the heroes have that sense of irony about how stupid other people are, but they themselves are actually decent folks. :bandit:

Here's something about it in the wikipedia article about MREs:

Most recently, MREs have been developed using the Dietary Reference Intake, created by the Institute of Medicine (IOM). The IOM indicated that servicemembers (who were classified as highly active men between the ages of 18 and 30) typically burn about 4,200 Calories a day, but tended to only consume about 2,400 Calories a day during combat, entering a negative energy balance. This imbalance occurs when servicemembers fail to consume full portions of their rations.[4] Although manipulations to the food items and distribution of macronutrients in order to help boost the amount of kilocalories per MRE have been made, more studies are showing that many servicemembers still do not meet today's standards of daily consumption, often trading and discarding portions of the ration.[5] Researchers continue to study the habits and eating preferences of servicemembers, making constant changes that encourage servicemembers to eat the entire meal and thus get full nutritional value.

@ Sia- That makes more sense I think, perhaps 6k? That's a hell of a lot of food XD

@ SQ- That's how I RP Faith Shepard. She makes major paragon decisions, but a majority of what she does is renegade. Even with saving the rachni queen and the council, she turns out over 70% renegade.

Or parts of the people

Maybe he just needs to eat a huge amount once in a while like a gator or something. :wizard:

But yeah, I have to say, Gardner has his work cut out for him in 2. He's got at least 3, if not 4 human biotics, a drell biotic, and an asari to feed.

Bring Kaidan and Liara on the ship in 3 and my Sheps may give that man a raise.

My point was that you can't express an opposing opinion on the other forum without getting torched. Sorry if I offended.

Posting an opposing opinion about Mass Effect 2 on the Mass Effect 2 subforum has a tendency to do that.

Just like posting an opposing opinion about Kaidan in a Kaidan thread.

:innocent:

Gardner doesn't always wash his hands after cleaning the bathrooms. I'd be eating take-out all the time.

What restaurants would Kaidan prefer??

Actually, we have no problem with people who come into this thread and ask us why we like Kaidan, or tell us that they didn't find him interesting.  As long as they post in an intelligent, well thought out way, no one has a problem talking to them.

Unlike the dozens of threads where people will immediately accuse someone with a ME1 LI sig or avatar of being unfairly biased against ME2, or they'll even threaten to dig up unflattering quotes to use against them.  Crazy, huh?

As I mentioned before with the quoting, I've only done that once (and in response to being insulted for roleplaying as a specific character every so often). Of course, you'd have to dig up my posts in order to prove that, which kind of cancels out the point.

But anyway, back to the topic...

@Night...I was worried it was cute in the pink fuzzy bunny slippers on a five year old girl in pig tails sort of way. Funny is fine, I think both Kaidan and Shep show each other sides no one else sees, but cute made me think 'too sweet' and 'not realistic'.
Hmm, don't know if that made sense. Shutting up, now, Sir!

Jaer, I love your stories! I was laughing out loud again today as I reread the lingerie shopping. I wish I could hire someone to put that into a drawing.

Your fics remind me of my favorite part of a manga compilation. The funny stories at the end where all characters from the main story are shorter and cuter!

Thank you for sharing them and you have me hooked! :)

Edited for spelling. WTH is 'reming' anyways??!!

CiCi's Pizza,  Four dollars all you can eat.

OR Chinese Buffett, all you can eat.

OR a Golden Coral type place....all you can eat.

All you can eat being the theme here.

And Fort, don't you dare.  I know where you're going with this before you even clicked quote. :P
