re: DLC, i just keep thinking there has got to be a liara-takes-on-the-shadow-broker DLC. because 1) that needs to get cleared up before the me3 reaper mission begins 2) liara for sure made it to me3, 3) liara was the subject of the comic tie-over from me1 to me2, so it would make sense she is in a tie-over from me2 to me3. 4) that story would matter a lot to the fans who already are playing the storyline but 5) that story would be a pretty weird tangent for people who are starting with me3 and 6) it's critical to the full storyline, but not to the reaper thread.



so...yeah. i keep thinking that the "big dlc" that comes out before me3 that they talk about would most likely be picking up liara and the virmire survivor and taking out the shadow broker with them as squaddies. possibly rescuing the virmire survivor FROM shadow broker? it would neatly re-introduce those characters and give shep the full squad at the beginning of me3 to get going on the reapers.



my theory anyhow. possibly optimistic, but there you go.

question (and this *is* on topic as it affects the fanfic i'm working on)



if you finish all main quests for ME1 (noveria, feros, virmire, therum), i know you then get called back to the citadel to talk to the council again. is this the Moment you hit the galaxy map or just when you go to the citadel?



i always do virmire last, but am considering doing them out of order, but i suspect that will keep me from hitting the last few side quests you get after noveria.

I think you get recalled after all 4, no matter what order you've done them in.

Technically you can complete side missions after escaping the lockdown before going to Ilos even if it doesn't make sense from a story perspective.  The only thing is I think you can't go back to the Citadel so if that happens to be necessary to turn in any of the quests, you're out of luck.

Yeah, I found this out the hard way when I was trying to finish the Armistan Banes quest one time.  Luckily it's one of the quests that doesn't seem to carry over, even in an email or news broadcast (at least, I never heard it).  

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great holiday (or regular) weekend!

I almost always do Noveria last.

For one, talking to Saren during the last confrontation, he mentions having a few upgrades since your talk on Virmire. This makes me think there is some time between the two confrontations, time to allow Saren to start doubting himself, Sovereign to convince him to upgrade, and Saren getting used to the upgrades.

But aside from that, I get a really sense of urgency after talking to Benezia. She says she's just given Saren the location of the Mu Relay. He's already accessed the two beacons, already gotten the cipher from the Thorian. The only bits of information he needs to finish the puzzle is knowing about the planet Ilos and the location of the relay. He obviously knows about Ilos (from some unknown source, since we have to learn about it from Liara), so all he needs is the location of the relay. So once Benezia gives it to him, there is nothing left for Saren to do other than to go.

So if Noveria is one of the first stops, I start to wonder just what's delaying Saren from going through the Mu Relay. Even if you do it right before Virmire, why is Saren still there? I would think he'd be through the relay the very second he got the coordinates from Benezia.

There are two missions I can think of that get their start from Noveria, so if you save Noveria for last, you're stuck doing the missions after Shepard has stolen the Normandy. As someone already pointed out, it's something you can technically do, but doesn't make sense storywise. One of the missions is the one about Toombs, and that system is actually open for you to visit at any time. The only thing you get from Noveria is a terminal message directing you to which system that is, but you don't need the message to do the mission. The other mission is the rachni mission at the Styx Theta cluster. The only way to open up that mission is to finish the one on Noveria, though.

ETA: Oh, and you can't go back to the Citadel once you steal the ship. You can go anywhere else, but the Citadel is closed to you on the galaxy map.

ETAA: Oh, and the Armistan Banes' quest never really finishes anyway. It's just a way to guide you to Kahoku. You never learn more about why Banes was trying to blackmail Dr. Michel or why he was killed in the first place.

I ponder on the DLC discussions we have quite a bit and as much as I would love some Liara AND Virmire survivor DLC, I wonder if they will ever deliver that on the grounds that not everyone has access to DLC and it would be a hell of a gip to buy the first two games and plan to buy the third only to find that either it makes no sense cos you don't have it, or you don't get access to those characters if it happens the way Sage suggests (as wonderful as it sounds, sage)

They would have to have some serious retcon going on, surely? How do you think they could deal with our desires against delivering a full game to people who loyally buy all 3 games but no DLC?

Good Morning Sage, Jo, Pac & Teen - everyone else I'm back (scared yet?)
I am another person that does Vimire last.  It makes sense in the Ash time anyway. I also am one of those obsesive people that has to do every single quest for max xp points - need to get my Sheps up to lvl 60 to import.  Anyway you need to go to Noveria to get the Styx Theta rachni quest / you get mucho xp from there especially if you get out of the mako.  (told you / obsessive right?)
Well since I started that new fic I need to learn everything about the Collectors and Cerberus that I can.  I still don't know which way to go and I have been thinking of several things concerning Collectors, Cerberus, Kaidan, Shepard, Shadow broker.... my head hurts, maybe this wasn't a good idea but for better or worse it's started. Lets see what Shepard and Kaidan can do with the two lost years ... Tally Ho!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend ... for me two nights down (and they were bad ones) two to go.

Yeah but they can always offer ME3 deluxe version with the DLC from ME2 as a special price one time only offer and make money that way.  Or offer it as a "Game of the Year Version like Bethesda does for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

They can get it to ME3 buyers somehow.
