But nothing wants to be written right now and hasn't been for a few weeks.

Just keep writing whatever comes to mind even if it doesn't fit ... that's how Walls started.  I have chapters all over the place and then sometimes they fit and sometimes they need to be adjusted.  Fishing was like that - it was going to be the boat ride, but that just didn't fit somehow and we ended up fishing instead.  Just write what you feel like writing and you'll find a place for it...you'll see

Which raises a good question. After two years, would Kaidan still have a picture of Shepard or would it be gone as he tried moving on (like Kaidan's pic in ME2 hehe). And thanks Sia

I think the way you had it works quite well   Might have been nice to do what you describe but I think it would have been a hell of a lot of work.

And my vote is he still has a picture.  Maybe not on display because their relationship was kept secret but definitely easily accessible.  You know how long it took my mom to finally go through my brother's things after he died?  4 years.  And it probably would have been longer except that I kind of gently nudged her that I wanted to move in there because it was bigger and had more bookshelf space than my old room.  And we still have pictures of him all over the place.
