Hi everyone,

I just started to play ME1 again and right now I´m on the Citadel. Well, this time I picked up Wrex and Tali first. Now I wanted to get Garrus at Dr.Michel´s place. But he isn´t there... Also I don´t get this cute scene with Kaidan and Ash at this viewpoint on the Citadel (that means I will have to start again anyways, because I just have to have it ;))

Did somebody else get the same experience and will you be able to pick up Garrus later?

You can only get the cutscene before you pick anyone else up for your squad, yes.  And Garrus will be at C-Sec later if you still want to pick him up.  (If you don't, he hangs out by the elevator for the whole game.)

I didn't know that I always get Garrus first, I will have to try that once just to see it. So I am off to Lunch with a friend and will be lurking in about an hour.... Keep Kaidan warm for me...

More Panoplied later, Chapter 4 is just about finished. Tell you it is really different from Walls .... what was I thinking..,,,

Later!!

To be on Kaidan topic, what's wrong with this picture? Hint - two things.

jacob seems to be checking out kaidan more than shep?

kaidan and shep are both clothed?

kaidan's about to start yelling at her?

i'm confused. there are a lot of things wrong with this.

You're welcome. As an added note, if you never pick up Garrus in the first game, while you still recognize him in the second game, there's no way to trigger a romance. I thought that was rather awesome, as it makes the build up of their relationship so much better. It's all about the slow build up of respect from the first game into the second. :) (Not that many people here play his romance, but still, FYI.)

And to stay on topic, sorta... excerpt from the current WIP:

Shepard resisted the urge to smile as she rode the elevator down to the crew deck. Lawson would not be amused, but it felt so right having Alenko at her back again. The whole Universe was miraculously steadier than it had been just a few short days ago. She suddenly had the impression that maybe they’d actually survive the next few years. That’d be nice.

And the twitter Kaidan/Shepard are being ridiculously cute, for those of you who aren't addicted to their ellipse-filled soap opera. *snickers*

He contradicted himself:

Well, we're not talking too much about Mass Effect 3 right now, but the second story in a trilogy is where you traditionally end up in a fairly dark place. The third story is where you try and bring some fun and lightness back into it. One thing we tried to do with Mass Effect 2 was as well as bringing in the more mature stuff, we also tried to bring in a lot more humour so that we can go to these places without making it an overbearing experience. I think we have a lot more fun this time through characters like Joker and EDI. Mass Effect 3 is going to be the epic conclusion... so, a lot more darkness but also a lot more humour.

Really?
Bring happy stuff in with a lot more darkness...

A sappy Shep & Kaidan reunion would make up for  a lot of darkness.

@Fort: That is do-able, just very difficult to get a balance...take HP6 for example- they always say the next Potter film is going to be darker, but they put that much comedy in there that it didn't really work as a dark fantasy (ROMCOM ANYONE? well imo...).

We just have to hope that they can pull it off!

well, here's hoping for more happy stuff. me2 got bleak at times. i respected it, but i really wanted kaidan there to make things happy.

speaking of which... Chapters 33-35 of Valkyrie are up. smex scenes in honor of page 1500 coming up. actually, they ended up being a lot cleaner that i expected.

and...caveat here: i wrote the ilos scenes as a one off and have have been hanging on to them for weeks. kept going to edit them up a lot, then just kept leaving them as they were. not sure how they'll be received. was just trying to follow the character i'd created, but it ended up going where i didn't quite expect.

well, anyhow...this was my take. cheers.
