Yeah, Shep might say, "You're a sweetheart, Kaidan,"  but only if she followed it up with, "now don't make me kick your ass."

The way I thought about it, Night, is sure, the others aren't Alliance.  But they're under her command just as surely as Ash and Kaidan and a leader who saved someone just because she was sleeping with him wouldn't be much of a leader.  Or at least, I wouldn't respect them as a leader.  Thank God the logical choice in my opinion and what I wanted to do concided in that case or I don't think I could have finished the game.  I don't know what I would have done as a dudeShep romancing Ashley.

I've seen this shot with Ashley before but never with Kaidan.  Kind of wanted to take it myself.  Now this is great fodder for a motivational of some sort.

Yeah, Shepard does say stupid things that we can't justify, Horizons proof of that.

at least you cut "JOKER"S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE" out of the fic sage, that line just never makes sense.

I kept it in in my version. I actually thought it was a perfectly logical thing to say, just the change in tone was a bit abrupt.

fair enough joi, i guess the line itself makes some sense, but why did he have to yell it at me?

I agree with that, but that's more an issue with the voice acting than the writing.  I think I heard that line was copied wholesale from another conversation (sometime after Eden Prime before reaching the Citadel, I believe)

Yes but people who pretend that emotions don't come into decisions are fools.  I agree that he shouldn't have said that at that time, cerainly not.  And to point it out fully "because of us" , when really at that point other the flurting nothing else had happen.  Yeah it was odd, but in the end I still think that part of the strength of her command is that she does use her heart to make decisions too.

The way I've always seen it, the line right before was just for Shep.

"JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE!"  was just in case Joker was still listening in.

Every time I look at this, I picture him being yanked off the stage on The Gong Show, still singing his heart out.  I can't help but think that Kaidan couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
