Dear Kaidan:

If you’re reading this, that means you and Shepard have patched things up. While I understand the shock you were both under on Horizon, I was a bit disappointed that neither of you seemed able to work past it. Guess it must be love if it turns two such strong, capable soldiers into blithering idiots.

I hope you’ve also worked things out with Joker. I know you must be disappointed in those of us who jumped the Alliance’s ship and agreed to work for a bunch of villainous maniacs like Cerberus, but sometimes the enemy of my enemy is my friend, especially when trying to get one’s allies to do the right thing is a losing battle. I couldn’t stand to see him grounded, and neither could you, if you’d only just admit it. He misses you. Though I’m sure he won’t admit that either.

Knowing you, as I do, (I’ve got a stash of your migraine medicine in the top left drawer, by the way, right above the cabinet with the brandy, if you need either), you’ll find all the medical documentation I managed to pry out of Miranda regarding the work The Lazarus Project did on Shepard in the attached folder. Be warned, it is a nasty read, even if you think you know what you’re expecting. And it has a lot of pictures. You might want to try some brandy before you get started

@Sage: But the only Kaidan who's at all interested in the doctor is the a/u one who got dumped by an a/u Shepard. So he's got cause. *nods* I think. It's hard to follow, since I usually only swing by periodically. They're a bunch of crazy people, having way too much fun. *snorts*

And thanks Sia. I like Chakwas. She's a nice lady. Even if I, personally, have never been particularly fond of brandy.

It's like he's played by a Kaidan-basher that feels that Horizon brought out his true colors and that he's a traitor and that he somehow betrayed Shepard by saying that he wouldn't work with Cerberus.

I don't get that "betrayal" thing... that isn't betraying anyone and people that assume that need to get a dictionary.

What is this about CDR_Alenko?

We were venting about the twitter RP-group that plays with multiple versions of the ME characters. Kaidan_Alenko is still the Lieutenant from the first game, mostly failing to maintain a professional relationship with Fem_CmdrShepard. CDR_Alenko is an A/U version who's been dumped and had his heart stomped on, and turned into a weird jock/jerk type. Fort thinks he's actually played by someone who dislikes the character, as he's very different. (I think he's just someone who enjoys riling up the other RP-ers, myself, and is playing w/the whacked out Assault Rifle version of Kaidan we got on Horizon.)

CDR_Alenko and CitadelDoctor are making me sad right now.  Choose the Savant X, Fem_CmdrShepard!  The X is the right choice!!!

i am staying away from that twitter stuff. that's only going to annoy me. i have the story straight in my head and it's happy... well, no it's really angsty. but in it kaidan and femshep are still in love. so there's hope (yes, i AM a hopeless romantic)

and fort, i totally second you on the "betrayal" thing. cerberus is whacked. they killed how many people in the first game? most of them innocent colonists? hello UNC: Colony of the Dead? my shep hasn't forgotten that. she doesn't believe TIM for a second about his wanting to help people. the fact that kaidan hates cerberus makes me admire him. it's just too bad we couldn't explain that shep doesn't like cerberus either. at least mine doesn't.

anyhow.

but that would assume that certain elements of the gaming world used dictionaries and logic and...brains. might be asking a lot:devil:

And yes, I admire Kaidan for standing by his principles when faced with Cerberus. Anything else would've just been too crazy. (And I wish my Shepard had better ways to express her disgust w/Cerberus too.)

I've always said that my issue with Horizon isn't Kaidan.

Jo made me this motivational, pretty much sums up my feelings on Horizon.

@ jilly: i agree.  i just don't want twitter messing with my white space (a fantastic way of putting it courtesy of penny arcade's tycho. i think it brilliantly sums up how i feel about fanfic.) in my head, kaidan is not like the jocks from highschool.

and i love that motivational. it's like the mess that is horizon completely rests on shepard's momentary brain fart that yeah, it hasn't been a few weeks for kaidan. in her defense, we can only assume that the hug did something to melt her brain a little.

Insanity is only hard the first time around... once you finish on Insanity... you won't be able to play on anything but hardcore and insanity.
