Good question.  Heh, you think you feel like evil incarnate?  I think the devs should feel like evil incarnate after the crummy job they did with Horizon, and Kaidan (or the lack thereof) in ME2 in general.  I swear to God I almost think Obsidian did a better job of including Carth in KotOR 2 and that's saying something if you know what I think of that game.

Dunno. I don't think Horizon is much longer than 800 words anyway

For my fics, I don't usually have a word goal. I write as long as it needs to be for it to tell the story I had in mind. Granted, so far I've only done a series of connected one-shots, but I'm applying the same philosophy to my current multi-chapter saga. I break chapters where it seems most natural to do so.

My chapters have varied from about 1.5k to 3.5k, I don't set a goal either. I usually have a goal of what I want to accomplish for the chapter and write to that, although my muse often takes me in strange directions.

It depends on what the characters decide they want to do in the chapter. I don't aim for any length. I let Joker and EDI kind of run amuk in this last chapter, and it turned out to be longer than the others because of it. I normally set out with an idea of "X" needs to happen, and let things run from there.

And for all those complaining about "cliffhangers", they tend to be good stopping points to recoup the muse's energy.

ooh ooh! *raises hand*

yes to both, because kaidan is so laid back. BUT i think he'd tease carth because that's how carth likes to treat people. and i think secretly alistair would sort of amuse and yet annoy him because he's kind of immature (sorry, alistair is a cutey-pie, but he is way immature).  i think if either of them made a move on femshep once femshep had romanced kaidan though, he'd take them out with his biotics.

nd yes, i think kaidan could take both carth and alistair. handily.

omg, i KNOW isn't it awful? sheesh, i keep writing this stuff and going "wth is wrong with you, woman? this is depressing" 

but yeah. 11 is making me tear up. 

i have fluff coming soon, but it's completely wrapped around angst. or maybe the angst is wrapped around it. it's coming soon. i just need a few chapters in the middle here. i think i'm going to drop dead of sad story before i ever get to shepard coming back.

so yeah, Shen. bring on the bubble bath. that's sounds a heck of a lot happier than what i'm writing. ><

(Hey, I'm not going to dispute that Alistair is young and inexperienced.) Yeah, my personal thought is that Kaidan and Carth would probably have a mutual professional respect, and that once Kaidan loosened up a bit they would probably enjoy each other's senses of humor. Carth's trust issues might create some friction between them, though. I think with Alistair it would be more of a big brother/little brother relationship.

Seriously, we need to run sekrit bubble beard Kaidan by Jho when she gets on.

I hope in ME3 they give squadmates the same amount of powers as Shepard. When I get Kaidan and Liara back I want Kaidan to be able to use all sentinel powers and I want Liara to be able to use singularity and warp. And give us back Barrier for all biotic classes (without that stupid 12 second cool down).
