Ah, he can smile!
There are some times when I do wish Kaidan had Alistair's or Carth's more open sense of humor. But then that would interfere with my belief that Kaidan is a deadpan snarker.

I'm pretty sure that's a shopped smile... the original was quite a bit more subtle.  Kaidan definitely has a sneaky sense of humor... a total deadpan snarker indeed. (I love that about him, actually.)  Some extra banter would be nice though.  *sighs*

i think he is. this is something they should explore more in me3.

i mean, take the "i could shoot something if you want" and "what, you don't think they're here for the food?" or "always helps to rtfm, ma'am."

i think kaidan is very funny - he just doesn't get many chances to show it. but for me, i liked the glimpses of humor rather than always making him the clown.

I would love to get my hands on the original writers notes on Kaidan. And the instructions left for the VO. Heh.

How do you get your in your head stories on paper anyway?

Only if it leads to this:
"Galaxy on the balance and you trip talking to me <3"

Practice.  I haven't written much in years before starting Lost for Words, but I used to pretty regularly.  (I got asked at band camp why I was sitting on a saxophone case, cause they thought, having seen me scribbling in a note-book all week, I was there for the creative writing program. *laughs*)  It's really the only thing that works.  You write down whatever is in your head, and then start over doing it again with the next thing in your head.  *shrugs*

And oh dear lord, I'd love a copy of Sbarge's voice-acting sessions.  Likely to be hysterical.  Plus, extra time w/the voice. *grins*

Thanks Night, for the list! I am so far behind on fics it's ridiculous, and this gives me a really good place to start catching up!

I would add one more to the list (not sure if I can get the link to work), but Brijenieve also has ME fic and art on her website, and hosts for other ME fic writers, a lot of it not strictly Kaidan-related. There's a lot of crossover with your list, but just thought I would put it out there. I especially recommend the letters to Shepard (I like the Tali one a lot). :D

Hellos everyone! There's a lot to catch up on I see.

Twitter is being a jerk, so don't expect to hear a lot from Faith Shepard today. You can ask her stuff with formspring though. http://www.formspring.me/effShep

About fanfic: I tend to go to ff.net and turn the "all ratings" and Kaidan setting on then I just browse and see if something new comes up. There are some great authors here but there are some outside of our thread that might not get as many reviews because they're not connected to our little gaggle. That Blurred Line comes to mind. It's on AFF as well, at the bottom of the Mass Effect section's first page. The author is a really good writer and it'd be nice to see her write more stuff.

Other recommendations:

Kendoka_Girl has some very interesting spacerShep stuff going on in her fic and she's establishing Shenko.

Architects of Their Own Fortune is another good one.

Ooh!!!  If we're recommending other Shenko authors, Impsy is awesome.  I recommend all her Mass Effect stories.  I'm sure there are others I can't think of right now...

I would absolutely love it if Bioware did a developers' commentary much as Valve did with Portal. It was interesting to hear how the developers at Valve made certain design decisions based on testing, and it was particularly interesting to hear the voice actress for GLaDOS talk about the direction she received for the character. And how the character actually changed based on her voice acting.

You don't sign up with your email...

The front page of AFF is an age check. You just enter your birthdate then sign it, stating that you are 18+
