I agree wholeheartedly. I've been taking a break from ME1, and ME2 is missing that crucial ingredient that would make it a true RPG for me. No matter what direction they take ME3 in, though, all is forgiven if they give us this:![]()

Now with Mass Effect, I really, really hope that the stuff I've been reading is plausible and happens in the third game. In fact, I'll be kind of crushed if some of it doesn't. And with my disappointment in ME2, fanfiction is definitely softening the blow I felt at first. Thanks, fan fiction writers!!!

It's funny, I started reading and writing fan fiction a long time ago because the couple I liked seemed extremely unlikely to ever get together...Buffy and Spike, in the early seasons. And then they did, and that wasn't half as awesome as the fanfic. Then some of the authors I enjoyed moved over to writing Harry Potter stuff, and I enjoyed it, mostly because it was about things that had NO chance of happening in the books.

@TeenZombie - was the disappointment because of the lack of Kaidan? >D because that was my only problem with it.

I don't want to complain here, but I'll just say the changes the devs made to ME2 weren't my cup of tea. I'm not that interested in shooters, I wanted more dialogue with squadmates I was not romancing (and by being faithful on all my characters, I missed a lot), the story was disjointed by the mission format and didn't carry the overall plot forward...in my opinion. I did like the new characters, and there are tons of funny, entertaining moments in ME2, but I wish that the game was more like ME1 in general. But that's just my preference, I'm an old school RPG and adventure
gamer, new fangled shooters aren't my style.
But yeah, I fully admit that if they had handled Kaidan and Liara's cameos differently, I might cut the game more slack. Right now I'm just waiting to see how ME3 is. That will color my view of ME2, also, I think.
Enough of that, though, let's get back on topic:
