In ME 2 Garrus was about always with me. The other I changed from place to place. I missed, besides Kaidan:wub:,
Wrex... I just loved him... ah, I mean platonic, of course;)

Yeah, in deed femshep looked a little bit funny, the way she walked around. I thaught worst was in Kasumi´s quest... the way she moved... didn´t fit her nice dress at all...:pinched:

Just to stay on topic:

Who else thought they should have used a better picture in the frame on Shepard's desk? *waves hands*

Btw...when I get back to my WarpStar (my desktop that I upgraded so it's AWESOME) I am going to make a fantrailer of Horizon...because I'm watching trailers on youtube...and I WANT TO DO THAT!

Afternoon all

I knew when I got ME2 that Kaidan only had a cameo but it could have been handled so much better and quite honestly it felt like it was added on as an afterthought.
I have to say that I liked ME2, although reading my post you may not believe that, lol, but its not in my list of top 5 games. I am also not a shooter fan and have only played 1 game that can be classed as a true shooter before. ME is so much better in terms of story, there's just no comparison. The romances in ME were far superior to the cheesy nonsense we got in ME2, with femShep getting the worst of the cheese. I hated the lazy Kaidan/Ash cookie cutter scene and I'm sure the writers were on a major bender when they wrote the Horizon dialogue. I have no problem with what Kaidan said or his attitude towards Shepard, but her dialague stinks, lol. Then of course we have the infamous "I just want to talk for a bit" sleezy c'mon that we are subjected to just because we are trying to talk to Jacob without event thinking of romancing him. Whoever thought that voice acting was ok should be smacked upside the head. It also would have been nice to be able to reply to damn emails. Quite honestly we are in a ship that is superior to the original Normandy where we could actually talk to Hackett or shep's mother over the comm system but now the technology is such that we can't even send a freaking email.
The whole concept of a "suicide mission" was also pretty lame, given that it was ridiculously easy to get everyone out alive just by using common sense. There were no real hard decisions, like Virmire that had to be made. There were also way too many squadmates, given that only 2 squadmates can go with Shep on any given mission, and someone is going to have to go to make room for Kaidan.
I was never a fan of the Mako, but hell I'd kill to have it back after the agony of planet scanning and trying to control the stupid Hammerhead. as for dlc, none of it excites me so far. Kasumi was a waste of time, she sucks in combat, including in her own flaming dlc. The only thing that came from that dlc was another new weapon. The dress meant nothing to me, especially as femShep walks with all the grace of a frontrow footballer, and sits like one too.
To me it was like Bioware put so much time, effort, and resources into the combat system in an effort to woo the shooter crowd that they forgot what it is about bioware games that make them so great, and everything else just seemed like an afterthought, or a rushed job. Hopefully we will have a return to some actual rpg elements in ME3.

Forgive me I'm in a very bad mood. As I said I like the game but it just doesn't have the same replayability factor the first one has for me.  I'll step off my soapbox now and go back to killing darkspawn.

EDI couldn't find anything better. (<--shameless self-promotion of my silly take)

personally, i really loved ME2. i'll admit it. ME1 made me like shooters, and i loved the combat system in ME2 so much more. as an adept, i found the heat sinks a fun challenge. must make  headshots count, cause i only have 18 shots in the canifex...

i loved the graphics, the sadder story, the richer universe, the development from the first. for gameplay, i liked me2 better. for story, i like it different. it's just a different style of story and one that's more...impressionistic? the first game was more linear and me2 was more like a pointillism - a lot of story dots that made up a tale

and as i was afraid ash/kaidan might not come back at all, i was glad they did. i dislike horizons, but i will reserve judgment until me3 comes out. i sort of feel like that would be like saying i hate the part in empire strikes back where they freeze han solo. i mean, i DO, but it works because he comes back. i watched star wars as a kid back-to-back. i cannot imagine waiting for return of the jedi to come out and wondering what they heck was going to happen.

no, strike that - i think it's like waiting for me3.:(

i'm getting long winded. sheesh.

well, evening and night - got caught up and now crashing.

I actually don't mind the pic of Kaidan they used for Shep's desk. It was better than the one fans of Ash and Liara got.

@Sage - I actually made it Joker who put the pic is Shep's cabin in a fic that I'm still working on, lol.

That said (because I am and Adept)... I liked both stories I just would have liked the ability to pick up quests on planets and go somewhere and do them rather than just go to a planet, discover something, do it and then have it be done.  It feels a little too disconected.  On the other hand I liked that the enviroments were all varied.  So... pros and cons.  I do wish biotics could work through defenses a little more.  It would have been nice if they would at least make enemies stagger when hit (even if it only hurt their shields or armor).  Ok... I've said blah blah blah enough.

Also... I remember going to see Return of the Jedi in the theatre with my father (but I was only six... so I don't remember much of the experience well).  It is one of my favorite movies as a child though (and as an adult now).

@ Phoenix I wouldn´t mind a shirtless pic on the desk ;-)

I love the fantrailers, too. I watched a lot btw, but I never could do one myself...

@ Sesh, you are right in a lot of points... The mako was pain, especially in the mountains, but also fun. My steering... Oh well, the first time I used teh Mako, I drove right over the edge... But later I got better and used to have fun... I mean this Mako was tough, I fell so often of some mountains... and it still was doing fine... wish could do that to my car, too... lol...

The scanning for minerals got boring after a few times and I hated to get always new satellites...

I really hope the do a better Job on Kaidan/Ash as in ME2.

I know this is of topic, but will you watch Soccer on Sunday?

Here is something to hopeful cheer you up a little bit :-)

Yes, ma'am!

I reserve my strong opinion on the judgment of the squaddies in ME2 until I've had the chance to play it a few more times. For now, though, it rests that I did enjoy the variety of the characters. Each had a different flavor and fit their role well. Each species was engrossing (though I think Jacob was the least so), but on the whole I'd have to say a condensing would be appreciated for ME3.

The graphics were outstanding, but the replay value declined. ME1 still holds that title in my opinion.

Slightly vague review, but this girl needs sleep. Sweet dreams everyone, and to encourage that:

Hey Aslan, here's a nice shirtless Kaidan that would have looked good on Shep's desk.
ps : no won't be watching soccer, its not something I normally watch even though I used to play way back in the dark ages.  don't watch a lot of sport, which is probably heresy for an Aussie, lol, but I do like cricket.

No problem, that was great...I wish we could have gotten more dialogue like that.

Or Kaidan gets injured, but comes along and hangs out in Shepard's cabin for the rest of the game....

Either one.

[/quote]

wouldn't that be grand... been thinking about the empty cabin throught the whole damn game :P  I tell you if they don't bring him back I'll disown Bioware!!!

I wanted to use one like this to cheer you up, too. But somehow i screwed it... Maybe need more coffee...
I will think about you Sunday and in the case my team will loose, even when you´re not interested in soccer, I´ll think about you and clink my bottle of beer with you in my mind... :D (hope I used the right words)
I would wonder, which kind of sports would Kaidan like? I doubt soccer... maybe basketball. Or swimming? He would look awsome... Just imagine him walking out of the ocean... *sighs* (I hope my english isn´t to messed up)

I approve of all the Kaidans on this page, makes my day a lot better. Morning all, delurking for a short bit before going back to work. Great job on all the fics, been trying to work the reading of them into the busy mix and it's a welcome distraction! Gotta run again. *eyes the gutter and sighs* How I miss thee.

It seems that many, not to say most cause I don't know how close to the numbers that would be, of us have the same issues. Femshep walked and moved like a marine since ME1 but at some point it's been overdone. It's fine having only one behavioural model for the player character, but honestly now, how many women do you know who spread their arms and buff when ordering drinks in a bar? I don't mind the hardcore **** look, but, Maker's blood, Jack was more feminine! Gives me the feeling tha they put it in and "hoped we don't notice'. Well, I say we did. She's the hottest woman in the galaxy and her actual sensuality is at 0%. Yeah fine, go on ahead and headbutt Krogans all you like, but when she needs to get some charm out she's got as much charm as an oyster. And as you already said, i just stopped talking to jacob cause of the "i just wanna talk sweetcheeks" smirk/sleezy swagger, honestly. I had to shoot him two renegade really rude replies just to get rid of the romancing aspect, what gives? I really just wanted to talk. same goes for Jack, I tried to make friends and I got "I'm like you Shepard, I don't do women" O.O Erhm, hello? We don't all walk around with our brains in our crotch, that's a male attribute.

The shootemup aspect of the game I enjoyed I must say, although I have to agree that with a soldier character I basically spent all my time searching the floors for bullets. Haven't tried the DLCs yet, and I'm curious about Zaed and Kasumi, but I'll be reserved, judging from the comments in here.

The intense scanning sort of annoyed me as well, but what annoyed me THE MOST was the lack of funds. At some point i had billions of resources and no money to complete my reasearch and buy new upgrades at all! What's up with that!? You can't complete the achievements cause you can't complete all upgrades cause you don't have money O.o how does that make any sense? I felt like a bum trying not to waste a buck in case I came across some updrage for the ability/weapon I wanted... hey give us a break, already.

As for the RPG element, well, that wasn't role playing actually, I mean you have to be given some options, some alternatives to roleplay, here you just try to catch up with the renegade button when it appears onscreen, i can hardly call that RP. I think I ended up romancing half the crew and getting the boot by Mordin who told me he doesn't dig me, just cause i was trying to strike up a convo trying to rp with them somehow...  TO THE DEVS: Listen kids, I don't want to shag the entire Normandy crew, the ONLY one whom I wanted around you kicked off. Well done, thumbs up, don't expect me to enjoy this.

It definitely helped me out, thanks :)

I'm taking things with facebook slowly. I felt that's a good idea to white "bloglike" short notes about my Shep's "everydays", since English is not my first. And it doesn't take much time.

If someone would like to check it out, some info is not "private", so here's the linky to Marge's facebook page. There's some Kaidan too. I;m not sure what language will pop up, so if it's not English, let me know.

Besides, I was welcomed by the fandom warmly, and I giggle looking on the stuff they write. Turian councillor engaged? Definitely funny.

Edit, morning Shenzi, hi everyone. Almost noon here. Hot and very humid.

Agree with almost the entire post,, I think I liked the ME2 companions a little more than you did.  Now saying that, I wouldn't hesitate to empty the entire Normandy if that's what it takes to get Kaidan back although I'll be annoyed if Garrus isn't around for ME3.  Posted Image

just sneak in... hello everyone,
@ Octarin, there´s a lot truth in what you are saying (exuse, my english). I didn´t like the forced linear way either.
The crew was okay, besides like you mentioned that it was hard to talk to them without getting in danger to start a romance and like I wrote before, worst of it, was to talk to Jacob... That´s why I avoid to talk to him...
For Me 3 I hope to keep my crew. I have a good crew and the only one who´s missing, is Kaidan. And I hope the devs going to have a nice story around him this time... since his litlle presence in ME2..
@ Ako : You are welcome

*waves* and goes back to the cellar ....

Good Morning all The Night Crew is back online

Little late thought... gotta love nights off!!!

Kaidan back on the ship, even if I can't romance him (been loyal every time but with bioware you never know)

I hate the hammerhead .. would take the mako and mountains everytime ...

I would rather have a non linear side quest like ME .... The follow the path root was boring ...ooooh said the B word, hope we don't get busy tonight.

I liked the overheat in ME rather then the heat sink in ME2

I liked that I could personalize my armor in two but not that I couldn't put armor on everyone else (color coordinate, maybe but hey, I would get rid of that cat suit and cover those tattoos in a second!)

Scanning system on ME -- also would have like more on the Citadel - those tiny littel quests were nothing like running around and trying to find Saren.

Yes wanted better options on Horizons, Yes wanted to answer Email .. even to my mother for that matter.

Think that's it..

Have a great Day!!!

(Here's to more Kaidan in ME3)
