Disregarding the fact that any modern day music would be 200 year old relics by the time of Mass Effect, what sort of music do you think Kaidan would enjoy? Do you think he plays a musical instrument? He strikes me as the sort who took piano lessons and grumbled about it the entire time. But plays some mean jazz now that he's older.
Mmm. Jazzy Kaidan.

Kaidan strikes me as more of a trumpet guy, but very definitely still jazzy.  If we're still playing Mozart then he can gosh darn well have learned some Duke.   But singing?  Nope.  I have a feeling he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

Oh, and good morning, all!

Man, I wish I could do anything more than half-assed in Photoshop (or even just draw) because I've gotten this really strong image of the Kaidan in the tux picture with a trumpet in his hand. I could do a cheesy version but I'd never make it look good. But who'd be in the band with him? Joker on piano? Chakwas at the mic?  Oooh, fic idea!

If you cheated on them (or killed Wrex), you're forced to choose between the two at the beginning of ME3 - and if you choose against Ashley/Kaidan/Liara, you permanently lose a whole mission from that save file as well as their loyalty and dialogue. If you choose the other, you permanently lose that ME2 squadmate's loyalty and dialogue. Since loyalty carries over from ME2 and it is required to romance them, it makes sense that loyalty goes beyond just helping people out with personal favors - it is also a reward (or a penalty) for the Shepards who remained loyal or unloyal in their relationship.

Or something like that. Still, you get to keep both squadmates, but you won't benefit from both of them in the final battle against the Reapers if you were unfaithful.

okay, see, this makes sense. this is sort of what i was thinking. like, you have a mission at some point, and whichever LI is loyal (i.e., the one you chose) then that one would have loyalty-armor for a mission and make it through. the other would not.

eh...that does sound evil. but...dramatic.

Virmire'ing the ME2 squadmate someone romanced while their Virmire Survivor was away is the best dramatic solution.

Aww, Chakwas in a shimmering, silver or black dress, high heels and dazzling jewelry. That's a one nice vision.

That it is. I pictured her somewhat similarly myself. She strikes me as a classy dresser when she's off the ship and not in uniform.

I get the feeling that she's not going to be in the next game because they didn't make her completely plot invincible (she'll survive the tank regardless, but won't survive without the escort). The rest of the crew talks about shore leave after you rescue them from the mission as well.

Personally, I think they should have made the escort "specialist" a necessary position.

Heck, yeah!  You can't sing torch songs in military casual.  She's gotta be able to really cut loose!  The men will be in tuxes, of course, yummy tail coats with black bow ties.

Isn't Chakwas attached to Joker?  If he comes back, she will too (assuming she's alive).

I never thought I would be so happy to see Kaidan on Horizon. I just barely beat Horizon on Insanity, and every harsh word he had to say could not bring me down.

Just wish he would have kept talking.

:(

i hear you. i always pretend in my head that shepard is so hopped up on adrenaline after fighting those scions that this is why she just says, "how you doin'?" she wasn't trying to be mean. she's just tired and feeling emotional (and like many takes on shep, mine has trouble with being emotional, especially in front of a crowd), and just says something stupid.

leg, i love the idea that kaidan can't sing. i dunno why. it's just so sweet. like he can do all these other things, but not sing. for some reason i see shep as being able to sing - mebbe because jennifer hale is a dinsey princess in her off-ME time....

okay. off to read the fic. mebbe to write some.

I don't think Kaidan can sing at all either, bless his heart.

And he's probably too shy/reserved to bother singing around others as well or even hum a little.

I don't even want to remember how many times I died. Fortunately, the game gives you checkpoints during that last fight, so I was able to not have to keep going back to the two scions at the start. And the Praetorian (which I feared with unhealthy reason) never killed me once.

I admittedly saved up all my heavy weapons ammo and used the Particle Beam to destroy his barrier before running like a little girl away from him. It worked quite well though.

that is my tactic also. still haven't gotten past the scions on hardcore yet. that is coming soon for me.:?

i wish i could bring the Cain AND the beam.

okay, question: what do you think kaidan is doing all that time you're fighting? stuck in stasis? or somehow got out of it (with his biotic awesomeness) and is fighting to shep?

I have rarely used the Cain. I prefer the Missle Launcher when the Beam isn't applicable.

I think Kaidan was in stasis until the ship pulled off, but that's just me.

I think the question of what Kaidan's doing is up to interpretation.

Personally, I think he metabolized the seeker venom much faster than everyone and was able to stumble off to a hiding place to recover (Ash would have metabolized it faster too because of her Alliance upgrades). Because he was frozen close to Lilith, I think this is the most reasonable idea because she was captured. Either that or they were about to grab him but Shepard intervened.

I don't subscribe to the second idea though. The collectors would have seen the value of the Virmire survivor and would have grabbed them quickly on their way out.

Good morning!

Several new chapters/fics this morning! Lots of ready/look forward to?

@ Sage: I'd sure like to know what Kaidan is doing as well. All I can think is that he's doing his best to overcome his paralysis and I can't actually imagine how he would do that except to wait. What I actually wonder is where he is since he comes strolling out from nearby after Shep kills the Praetorian and why she and her team don't see him lying there during the fight (yes I know they are busy but she's running around a lot dammit!)

On insanity I do a lot of running around. Particle beam to destroy the scions and Praetorian's armor. I also picked up the locust smg during the Kasumi mission. I find that while it needs more frequent reloading, it's much more accurate than the other SMGs and makes quite an impact on the baddies. Literally.....

I was so stingy that I never used any of HV ammo during my Insanity. I was always like: "I'm sure I'll need it more in another mission."

I'm presuming that he was in stasis (although I don't have a good reason for why he didn't get taken) but at some distance from the final battle. He likely would have been making his way over as fast as the fading venom would have let him but arrived too late for the final battle. He was about to turn the corner but was hesitating before confronting Shepard when the other guy jumped up and started yelling at her. He collected himself aaaaaand...the rest is history. Herstory. Their story.

I got to sidetracked I forgot why I came in here!  I checked the wiki and searched the forum but couldn't find an answer.  Does Pressly have a first name?  I didn't see it anywhere.  The wiki just refers to him as Navigator Pressly and most other places just used his last name or XO.

Would you like to know the cheat that allows you to kill the scions before the battle even starts?
