Thanks...it was my last one for a while...I'm doing some painting and I'm hoping to have time to play ME again just to get my self re-familiarized with Kaidan's character again. Hoping that will spark some ideas for some fics for the future. 

I think that one is my favorite of yours so far. It was beautiful. Very moving.

I think Kaidan's romance was almost perfect ..I'll leave a little wiggle room just in case in the future they might top it, but for now...none of the others even come close.

Ack, making Shepard and Kaidan stay apart for two years after Horizon would be awful.  It would mean the characters were both acting even denser than they did on Horizon, for two more years.  I'm sure they could come up with a reason as to why they wouldn't stay in contact for two more years, but it would have to be a REALLY good reason...and not dead Shepard again.

And as for how the female love interests were written in ME2, I definitely think that Jacob was written more as a buddy for maleShep, and the romance was tacked on for female characters, because there were no human male love interests in this game.  It's the only way I could explain how they wrote it.

Thane's character seemed more thoughtfully designed...and then we found out that they cribbed Carth's backstory for him, and he's DYING to boot, and I'm scratching my head again.  I know that tragic love stories can be really good, but if I had been a Thane fan before the game came out, I would be extremely anxious now, wondering how they'll handle him in the next game.  (And if two years in game time pass by, Thane will be dead!  )  Plus, he's talking about his dead wife, and one of my dialogue options is "I want you"...who actually does that???

Garrus's romance is weird to me.  He was a completely platonic friend, and all of a sudden my character had the option to proposition sex with him.  That was not very romantic.  His love scene was way better, and I'm glad that those who had always wanted a Garrus romance got it, but the way it was handled seems ham-handed, like they didn't know how to work it in.

So yeah, I think the writers wanted to do something different for these three than they did with Kaidan, but in the end the Kaidan romance was just way better and more thoughtfully executed, in my own humble opinion.

I agree on Jacob, Garrus and Thane.  I thought the Thane romance contained a little more meaning than the others, but s till it lacked something.  The others were just.... fail.  As for keeping Kaidan and Shepard apart for another two years, that would just be... ridiculous.  I very much think the next game will be at most a few months ingame after ME2.  It just makes no sense to try and say another 2 years have passed...  I mean, did everyone just decide "I don't feel threatened enough, let's all chill and do something on the opposite side of the galaxy for a few years."  

Bioware can't exactly make anything significant happen without the player, I guess Shepard could be off looking for ways to combat the reapers, but you would think that would occur where she could enlist aid, even if the Alliance and Council are mildly retarded on that matter, but I just doubt she'd be off in dark space trying to find a way to kill the reapers all by herself, I'm pretty sure things will pick up pretty close to where they left off in ME2.  

Shepard needs Kaidan... 4 years without him would kill her.  like it's going to kill me.  <_<

I absolutely love your fanfics, and I agree 'The Lie'  has to be my favourite. xD I adore the end, it gave me goosebumps. x) You are definitely an accomplished writer, well done.

And about a reunion in ME3 with Shepard and Kaidan, I really do love the happy endings on some films, but I think that a more devastating ending would be more emotional such as either shepard dying in kaidan's arms, or them both dying together, sacrificing their lives for the rest of the galaxy, that would be soo romantic in my eyes. xD But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a happy ending for them both, that would be good as well.

Well, if they;re going to absoluely have to sacrifice shepard (again), they better mke the Kaiden / Shep reunion 1) very happy and 2) last a whiles. I dont reallylike dry spells...which is what ME2 was. A massive dry spell xD

And now I think about it, shepard dying would be a bit too much, seeing as he/she has already been brought back to life. 

Whatever it is I really hope the reunion is good or I will not be pleased.

Oh heck, even if we don't get a storybook fairytale happily ever after ending, I'd still like to see something "hopeful"...that leaves you with the idea that Femshep and Kaidan are likely to stay together and go on to have more adventures/engage in more intergalactic asskicking...

Like an arm around each other, some epic background music and gazing out the window at the stars...

I'd agree that one of them dying, or both of them dying would be more emotional....but I'm also in agreement with some of the others in that there's just been soooooooooooooo much death in the ME universe, that it's just been played out...we've had to sacrifice people before, we've experienced our own character's "death" and subsequent resurrection, we've lost squad members in a suicide mission (if that's what happened in your particular game)....I'd really just love to see a satisfying conclusion to Shep's story that doesn't involve more personal tragedy.

Things don't have to be overly sugarly sweet/everyone's happy and whistling zippity friggin' doo dah in the galaxy...but after everything Shep (and Kaidan or any other chosen LI) have been through, can't we just do something epic to stop the reapers/kick their asses back into dark space without having to give everything else (including our lives)up?

As to the sad ending, I've said it before and I will say it again.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

There's enough sad endings in the real world d@mn it and I for one am playing the friggin' game as an escape.  I can see where it would be more artistic, where BW could say they were making a statement about the individual sacrificing for society.

But once, just once in this life I would like to see good conquer all even if it's fictional.  It would seem especially fitting for the paragons amongst us.  

I'm so sick of these darker, fallen heros.  I"m sick of watching the good guy get it in the end as a "plot twist."

Let me have my d@mn happy ending.

Oh... my... god... that was amazing!  Literally brought me to tears, and that doesn't happen often.  Pretty much echoed my Shepard's thoughts after Horizon, which were gleefully confirmed by a certain e-mail.  ME 3 can't come soon enough... looking forward to more Shenko goodness.
