I don't expect them to make any Kaidan background dlc.

Leliana was one of DAO's most popular characters. They're more likely to do a Garrus origins something... which wouldn't really interest me :P

Let's face it... we're a minority group on this thread. We're female, most play femShep and we like Kaidan.

Uh oh, looks like we need positivity and happy thoughts right now!  Posted Image

Positive thinking:  Kaidan will be the first squadmate we meet in ME3, the romance subplot will be satisfying and engaging, and the main story will be wrapped up in a suitably epic and well written manner.

Also, there will be ridable shifty cows.

And a happy thought:

Thank you for those happy thoughts, Teen... The smut turned angsty.

I wonder what will Shepard and Kaidan do when the Reapers are gone? I think, my femshep would kidnap Kaidan and go to a place out of reach by any communicators (hope I spelled that word right). Mabey a nice lodge at a nice lake somewhere in the wilds... :whistle:Oh, and I bet she would keep him so busy that he will forget the alliance for a while:innocent::devil:

@fortunesque - I like Garrus as like a best friend to my Fem!Shep. Him, Tali, Kasumi and Thane. BEST BUDS! ooo don't forget Joker. So I wouldn't mind if they did background dlc on him.

HIII! Lol

P.S. I passed car inspection now I got a sticker that is the color of Garrus's armor. >.<! hehe.

Also....haha...my fanfic will get updated sometime today.

Actually, what I was thinking (or hoping) is that if the Shadow Broker DLC is ever produced, both Ashley/Kaidan and Liara will be temporary squadmates for that mission.

Any romantic conflicts between those two squadmates were resolved in ME1, and the writers won't have to deal with what would happen if someone brought their ME2 love interest to the Shadow Broker mission, since Shepard will be working with two squadmates already.

It would also be easier to bring back Raphael Sbarge, Kimberly Brooks, Ali Hillis, Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale to voice a DLC.

EDIT: Also, at the end of the mission, you'll get an apology from Ashley/Kaidan, which varies depending on whether you've romanced them or not.

@ ecael: i agree. i think such a DLC would work beautifully. i wonder if it would be just a straight-up 'take out the shadow broker' or a 'virmire-survivor OR liara got taken by the shadow broker and you need to save them'

i see much dramatic and SQUEE possibilities either way.

*femshep saves kaidan from the shadow broker's nasty jail cell and takes him back to the normandy to clean him up....*

squee

more writing up. the upside of a rainy day

It's a good idea, but I'm very skeptical as to whether or not they want to do something like this with these characters. Liara seems to still be popular and the devs seem to have put more effort in to her.

The Virmire survivor... not so much.

@ecael: i like your dlc idea but i would have femshep apologize to kaidan instead of the other way around. she was so indifferent to him on horizon and then didn't talk to him afterwards that i think she has some explaining to do.

I just can't imagine them doing anything to reconcile Shepard and the Virmire survivor in a DLC, as that would cut out players of the trilogy who don't get DLC, which they said they wouldn't do. As the Liara relationship was left a lot more open, (w/o an actual fight to complicate things, just an odd almost greeting) it would be easier to have her resolution of screen and just have her back in ME3, for non-DLC players. Virmire squadmate, however, really needs a proper confrontation/conversation, which is why I like the idea of a DLC prequel. Get some character time w/o interfering w/the current story arc, such as it is.

That would actually be a very smart way to do it.  ... I mean, if they aren't gonna give Ashley/Kaidan their own and try to get as much money out of DLC as possible (if they didn't feel it viable), it wouldn't take that much more effort than doing just Liara on her own.

Then again, I get the impression (haven't played them) that the Dragon Age DLC is modular and the Mass Effect DLC isn't.  Fighting the Shadow Broker is probably going to be something you can do in the context of ME2 while still working for Cerberus.

The Virmire survivor... not so much.

They did re-texture their armor and faces - and the homogenized animations means that there's no problem including temporary squadmates (like Wilson from the Lazarus Project). The only thing they'd have to do is voice the dialogue and combat calls. If they really wanted to save time, they could just voice new dialogue but re-use the combat calls from Mass Effect 1.

Skills would already be maxxed out, since it's likely to be a post-endgame mission anyway. All their powers would be accessible through the powers menu already:

Liara (Weapons: SMG/Pistol):
Singularity
Slam
Warp Ammo

Kaidan (Weapons: Assault Rifle/SMG):
Overload
First Aid
Barrier

Ashley (Weapons: Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle):
Incendiary Ammo
Overkill
Fortification

Maybe you'll "run into them" again once Liara brings you to the Shadow Broker's base. After all, like any government, the Alliance doesn't like people sharing classified information, and Ashley/Kaidan may have a different reason to be there.

I still think that Cerberus and the Alliance are still connected somehow, and that may be crucial to Shepard getting back to being an Alliance soldier and Spectre. Casey Hudson did say that they were going to start on DLC bridging ME2 and ME3 - and a short conversation with Liara, Ashley and Kaidan wouldn't entirely spoil the beginning of ME3 nor force people to buy the DLC.

EDIT: Also, it would have made more sense if Ashley/Kaidan jumped out mid-battle on Horizon and started helping Shepard with the Collectors/Praetorian.

I'm not saying that it's not doable or impractical.

I'm saying that I don't see any evidence that they care that much to put the effort into it to include the Virmire survivor in a Liara-focused dlc. Simply put, the Virmire survivors aren't popular characters. They'll make what sells.

Oh, dear. I'm assuming now that there will be an Alistair DLC too eventually with that. Popular enough.
Garrus and Tali would probably be the only ones I can think of from Mass Effect 2 that they'd do something like that for. But probably mostly Tali. Maybe even Mordin.

I can see them making a DLC with the Virmire survivor and Liara something like that. It's not like they're on "shoot on sight" themed relationship, romance or no. (Kaidan acts like he's in love with Man Shepard at Horizon anyways)
It'd make more sense to be a random fateful encounter type thing. Like the darn legendary Pokemon that roam and you have to randomly run into them because they run away if you fly there.
No choice unless you want to lose your intel or if you wanna die kinda thing going down.
