I still like soldier. I do like to add barrier though.

Edit:  Oh top of page, that deserves a Kaidan....

How about a pensive one....

I always think that, in that pic, he's contemplating the encounter on Horizon, alternating between cursing about the Cerberus involvement and kicking himself for walking away so soon.

Poor overanalyzing Kaidan.

Oh... then I was probably thinking of one of them. I think Josian is from California (because she said something about me being from California).

It's late and I'm tired.  Goodnite to everyone who is still up... *runs off to bed*

*Ding ding ding* Correct!

Hi all!  Going to try to catch up on what I've missed and hopefully bang out the end of Ch. 4 of Truth and Lies in the next hour or so... I know where I want to go, it's just figuring out how to make the transition from where I am now.

More like blatant excuse to keep him out of the squad.

I still say that I've seen far more heartbreaking things in videogames than Horizon, honestly.  Maybe because I already knew Kaidan wasn't going to be coming with me, but I also think that it simply wasn't written well enough to elicit that sort of response from me.  Particularly on Shepard's part.  You want heartbreaking, try letting Loghain go through the Joining with a character that has completed the romance with a non-hardened Alistair.  Or the cut redemption ending for DS-females in KotOR.  Horizon just sucks.

For anyone curious, The Kaidan Quintet has made their debut appearance with the good doctor in Chapter 4, finally.

the worst thing for me with Horizon was Shepard's damn stupid dialogue. I can forgive everythng else but not that. Never got the DAO one though cause in all my playthroughs I've never once let Loghain live, just can't do it, lol, and in Kotor I can't bring myself to play darkside.

I did the Loghain thing once and I almost cried.  When hubby did it he (of course) wasn't romancing Alistair so he just yelled at him and stormed off to become a drunk somewhere.  But he ripped me up and spit me out and I wanted so badly to reload and take it all back.  I didn't because I was after some achievement or other but I certainly let the jerk sacrifice himself.  I wasn't about to keel over just to save his sorry a...ahem...rear.

With Horizon, the first time stunned me because I went into it with no spoilers.  The hug completely threw me off-track.  My response choices made no sense and his verbal slap in the face left me with my mouth hangnig open in shock.  He's lucky I finally got around to checking my mail because I was totally ready to make time with the other guys.

I can understand why Kaidan/Ashley, Wrex(poor guy, people never mention him anymore XD), and Liara were written in the way they were.
I can also understand Kaidan's reactions and heck, I probably would of said something similar to Shepard or even nothing at all if it was me.
My canon Shep seems like someone who would walk away without explaining right then and there, save it for another time and hope there would be another time, just happy he was not on the Collector Ship.
She didn't romance him either, though.
Liara scared me the first time I saw her speak. I like her but I'm almost tempted to trust the Illusive Man more than her ;_;
Wrex is well... Wrex. His reunion was awesome and bittersweet.
Everything can't be perfect.

I'm also not saying that Shepard's responses were.... meh. But I canunderstand why they probably were written as such.

My current ME2 run is my first infiltrator one. Takes a bit to get used to, but is fun. Fav party for that one is Garrus & Thane.

Also, I can't get myself to play darkside or renegade. Didn't even try the Loghain thing in DA:O. Heh.

Also late birthday wishes to night and sapphy. And an early one for Jaer in case I forget.

/mine is wednesday

Speaking about biotics, I'm loling reading about people complaining about when they used Jacob for the biotic shield bit.
You'd choose someone who's extent of biotic ability is to lift a clunky, scrawny mech into the hair and drop it 2 feet? B)

Although I knew not to use him.. in their defense his loyalty power is barrier.  Did you know that Mordin was originaly planned on being a biotic and to be able to do the barrier run like Jack and Samara?  Here is the extracted sound files.

That would of been awesome, a biotic scientist salarian. :o
But Mordin just needs to breathe to be awsome.

EDIT: And alas, I do not have the right player to play any of the files.

I never could bring myself to play darkside in the unmodded game either.  Kill Carth? :o:unsure::crying:  But with the mod that restores the option to redeem yourself, I forced myself to take the dark side path just to see this:
"I love you.  Even now, even after all you've done.  I love you like I haven't loved anyone or anything since my wife died and I didn't even think that was possible.  You may not love me... you may not love anything anymore now that you've gone over to the Dark Side.  But I believe that there's still some part of you that I can reach.  There's a part of you that believes in hope and mercy and love.  And that part knows that it will soon be gone forever."

And then, "You could still save yourself, Carth."
"There's no point.  There's no other place I'd rather be than here."

Not as flashy, but they will play nearly any audio/video file in existence.  I prefer MPC home cinema myself.
Media Player classic Home Cinema

@Tigrina - I struggle with darkside and renegade as well. Can't play renegade with femShep at all. did a renegade run with Sheploo and it was slow going, he was such a jerk, lol.

@Joisan - yeah I saw that on youtube but I don't think I could have done it anyway, knowing that Carth was still going to die, lmao. I am such a wimp when it comes to LI's, lol

@Batteries - I have no problem with Kaidan being angry on Horizon and can understand exactly where he's coming from. I was shouting the same stuff at my Shep while I was playing before I got to Horizon, lmao. With Liara, I was WTF when I first met her. It just seems too out of character and over the top for her, but then I haven't read any of the Liara comics as she's not one of my favourite characters, lol

Hehe I have to say, Bastila is the one female LI I can say I like almost as much as my men Kaidan, Carth, and Alistair.

The comic confuses me even more! She saves you from the Shadow Broker and the Collectors, I can understand the anger stemming from that and from her kidnapped friend who may or may not still be alive. If there even IS a kidnapped friend. :bandit:

www.youtube.com/watch

That makes it even worse
(It has... "spoilers", I guess in it.)

Damn you, BioWare!

I noticed something watching this. Apparently the voice actor that did Liara took lessons from William Shatner between ME1 and ME2.

I can tolerate renegade in ME2 a bit more than ME. First part renegade was total ******! He appeared to me as a total blockhead who just knew how to swing his gun against someone's face. I still don't have my renegade achievement done.

In ME2 renegade actions seem more reasoned while paragon started to give out some black eyes on his holy crusade.

Damn, I love how my Shep (Marge v1.2) looks in ME1. I can already tell that ME2 import will completely ruin that face. It did the same to my 1.0.

Aaaand again, matching stuff. Ashley needs one too.
