I'm kind of new to the hole fanfic scene, but the gap between ME1 and ME2 was frustrating and pretty much pointless. Whatched a smudboy video linked on another thread where he questioned some of the plot and its holes. Although I like ME2 very much, I'm sad to say I agree with most of what he says.Jhosephine wrote...

So, we know there will be DLC to bridge the time between ME2 and ME3 ...... any expectations? Hopes? Do you think the Ashley/Kaidan will make an appearance?
One would think so. If they saved these characters for ME3, they must have some serious plans for them. Maybe they will give hints in one of the DLCs where the story is going, if not an appearance. What are Ash and Kaidan? Why does Kaidan say he needs to report back to the Citadel? Is he reporting to Anderson and if so why? Or is he reporting directly to the council? And again, why?
Why are their files so classified even TIM is surprised by it?
I could go on for a while yet, but it would be interesting to at least get some clues as to what's going on in the cross-over DLCs.
Anyway, I felt as if I needed to fill the hole left with Kaidan and Horizon and sat down and for the frst time ever wrote a fanfic about it. Why was he on Horizon and what's up with Anderson. Us fans shouldn't have to do hat (even though it was a lot of fun, despite its serious note). Let's hope they don't do that mistake in ME3 and maybe give out a good DLC to fill in

Someone feels optimistic!
Would be nice but I don't see it happening. Out of all those things BW created and wrote, we got a horrible 1-minute cameo and an 'unreplyable' email (I am still wishing for Alpha Protocol's version here...)
The chances that we get anything are buried alive - at least that is how I see it. They haven't done us any favors (well besides creating Kaidan and making him an LI in the first place) - why should it change now?
Hurray for cheery days!

Hey, when you enjoy to write go ahead and do it. And when you need help: Well, there´re many good writers around to help you
I started to draw again, I´m not an artist, but I enjoy it and it´s fun to experience different things and it makes me happy...
What I mean is, if writing makes you happy : Do it

@Kioux....yeah, an e-mail system like in Alpha Protocol where you could actually reply to the e-mails would be really awesome. I mean it can't be that hard to implement, can it?
One would think so, especially since BW and Obsidian worked together. The system was great as well - answer in different styles... *sighs* So many small things could have made the game better on such a great scale.
But hey - why should they listen to a bunch of fangirls? After all we are just a minority, right? We'll just ignore that every third gamer is female by now... nyarr... I need coffee *gnaws in frutration on her keyboard*

Heh, I think that you fanboys usually get away better than we do. But in this particular case, I might just make an exceptin and offer you guys a spot under my little raincloud. It's great to be a fan, isn't it? Especially when you feel very disappointed by someone/something you had so great hopes for... meh.

at LEAST bioware listens to fans. most game developers dont pay any attention at all. so we should at least be happy about that. now let's complain until they bring our beloved LIs back

True, what I am talking about is things like the MAKO. People complained about it, so Bioware takes it out, then people complain it's gone. I was reading TV tropes for like two hours

I am not unpleaseable, and I don't expect games to be perfect. I had a very tiny insight in the industry and that actually made me a bit softer when it comes to mistakes. But there are different levels and my personal opinion is that BW reached out for the box with high level mistakes and ignorance.
I mean, I kinda accepted that in most games, my female PC will look like a 'professional' because the designers consider the chainmail bikini to be an appropriate armor. BW on the other hand actually made a big step towards the female gaming community and then we got... the camoe and female character that acts like she is in heat...
Sorry, but that's something I do complain about and it is something that could have been easily avoided.

Do you think I enjoy that? I don't even talk to Jacob at all if I play a female Shepard because it sounds like I want to rape the poor guy
As for the cameo, it would have been fine if work was put into Shepard and his dialog. That is the problem with the cameo scenes. We can't comfornt Kaidan, Liara and Ash, we can't even defend our selfs properly because Bioware pretty much forced the whole "We wantz you to cheat!" crap.

All the reunion scenes for the ME1 LIs suffered because of poor writing for Shepard, imo. The way he/she acts in those scenes are totally ridiculous. Liara opening up to Shepard and no way for us to comfort her? WHAT THE HELL, BW!!!!
Horizon wasn't better. I said it in the Liara thread, too. The reunion scenes could've been so much better, if Shepard had different ways to respond. So what if there were new players who don't know Liara, Kaidan and Ashley......it's still ridiculous and should've been done differently
Yeah, well...Bioware WANTED us to cheat..after all the new romances were so hard to resist or something. According to them anyway.
Horizon left me angry and hurt and that feeling stayed with me throughout ME2 and I really felt sorry for my Shepard
Mind you, Kaidan shouldn't walk away that easily either. I fully expect some fireworks to tell him he was an ass. Wouldn't mind a biotic throw into the fishtankWhile understandable, I always expected him to be the one person who would be there for her...but he wasn't and that shows how deeply he love(d) her in a, for us, twisted way.
I just hope they do the relationship justice in ME3, it's complicated but I think Bioware will take an easy way out and focus on the big Reapers. Despite me wanting a lot of dialogue so it plays out the way it should, that's not going to happen.
Is what I feel, I don't have a problem with Kaidan yelling at me so much as after Shepard explains her 'Clinical Death' he WALKS AWAY. That is my problem. I think after she tell him she couldn't contact him, he should be more susceptible to a discussion of what happen. After all he just told her he loved her, to walk away after that ... well if it was someone who didn't love he it makes sense - someone who loved her ... not so much. Yeah maybe he had a problem with Cerberus, but come on... he commited Mutiny for her. Working along side Cerberus should at least be discused.
Sorry if this was touched on, like I said, haven't finished reading yet, just feel strongly about it.

I understand why Kaidan is pissed tho, I would be too. Hell Shepard does not contact anyone when she ocmes back to life, even her mother(if you are a spacer) or any of her old friends. Kaidan heard these rumores second hand that you where alive and working for Cerberus. Kaidan is pro Alliance, he is against Cerberus so of course he would be pissed off, in fact if Kaidan would have went all "I understand" I would have been disapointed. My problem with the scene is Shepard. There is no emotion, no comfort, nothing. Shepard is pretty much

You know, besides the "how ya doin'", they should have added an "I'll be back" to her dialogue to complete the Lazarus Project. Because Shep on Horizon is as emotional as Arnold was in his movies
I still think Lazarus was a failure. She's NOT the Shepard I got to know and love in ME1. Cerberus messed up on their dialogue coding, making important, emotional situations too robotic and then going over the top with something simple as talking to a crewmate to make her sound like she's in heat.
They crossed a few wires I think. Yes, that must be it.

The only parts that I felt like I was not really my Shepard was Horzoine(sp) and Liaras cameo scene. Everywhere else tho? I felt like my self but there? Hell no and that's because Bioware for osme strange and sick way wanted Shepard to show no emotion. I can compare let's say Talis trial and Kaidans cameo scene.
My Shepard showed more emotion in Tali's fricken trial then she showed to the man she loved, like WTF? Not to mention if you look carefuly, the cutscene has alot of graphical bugs. Shows me Bioware did't put alot of time into it.

Yeah, Kaidan isn't well animated on Horizon. His armor is a much lower res than his face as well. His eyes never truly focus during the dialogue and keep moving in strange ways till he's cross-eyed. The fact that the same goes for Ash says it all.
I'm working on a close-up of Horizon Kaidan now and the amount that needs fixing is amazing. The only thing they did do is adding proper textures to his face but the armor belongs in ME1, the contrast is huge. For a pic I did I even used ME1 armor and made it into his Horizon version and it blended without problems.
I took a lot of shots during the dialogue scene and only on rare occassions does he appear right. Really sloppy. But it's a cameo, we were supposed to sit through it for as long as it lasted and move on

That's no excuse. The point that Conrad, Wrex, Shiala, Giana, Fist and Rana had better cameo scenes then the ME LI and had hardly any graphic erros is complete and utter BS.

I know, whomever did the animation should be ashamed of him/her/themselves. No way that they could have missed glitches that huge....TWICE. (for Kaidan and Ash) Which is why it feels like an afterthought...a quick scene to 'continue the romance' in part 2 like they said you could. Oh well.

It's Onyx armor (that's what it's called I think)...with flashy lights. I used Sheploo's N7 armor and it's identical in many ways. Cept for the N7 logo stuf ofcourse and Kaidan's happy trail of blinking lights.
But it could indeed have been worse, he could still have been in Phoenix lol
