Mine?

"Alenko's scowl returned as his grip tightend on Shepard's arm, but she
only laughed and kissed him on the cheek. "Never happen. I don't share
well with others." Her tone turned deadly serious. "Mine," she whispered
at Alenko, just barely loud enough for Joker to catch, even though he
was standing right next to them."

Well, "Mine" is the defining characteristing of Kaidan and Ella's relationship.
And this, even though she doesn't look much like Ella:

I liked some of the ME2 LIs. Is that really surprising?
They're not ones where I'd import them first thing, but I liked some.

I have a few questions for everyone and would like to know what you all think.

1: On Horizon do you think Shep is more sad than angry?

2: Do you think that the Council offering you your Spectre status back just a big PR stunt so that if Shep is victorious they can say that they sent Shep on this mission?

3: Anderson believes you about the Reaper threat whether you go to see him before Horizon or after, so why doesn't he believe that you are using Cerberus as a means to an end?

4: Why doesn't anyone trust you? I know the biggest problem is that you are working with Cerberus but, it still feels like everyone is against you Posted Image

Everytime I read those threads I have to scratch my head. Seems Miranda having bigger boobs and an ass on display is means that Miranda > Ashley.
I liked them both equally though.

EDIT:

also, that fem Shep looks awesome :D

1: Neither... Shepard is  the entire time. FemShep sounds angry at the end when she tells Joker to get the shuttle ready tho.

2: Would't surprise me. But granted you can tell them to shove it up their ass too, I'm sure that will be mentioned in the next game if you did.

3 & 4: I'd be suspicious too if I died and Cerberus brought me back to life. I think Anderson might definately have plenty of secret operations under his comand into the Reapers. Cerberus, like Jacob said, are called terrorists for a good reason.

1.  If you romanced the virmire survivor (Kaidan or Ashley) then Shep sounds sad.  If you did not romance the virmire survivor then Shep sounds frustrated.

2.  I think the Council knows the Reaper exist.  Clearly the Salarian Councilor does since the STG has been investigating Reaper indoctrination (Mordin's loyalty mission).  They don't want to public getting wind of it.  If they fully endorse Shep then they have to admit that the Reapers exist.  Giving you your Spectre status back is a way to let you continue your mission without being forced to admit something that would cause a public panic.

3.  Anderson does believe you... he just wants you to be careful while dealing with Cerberus.

4.  Everyone is against Cerberus.  Dissapearing for two years and all of a sudden returning as an employee/agent of Cerberus is a little alarming.

My honest opinion:

1. I don't think Shepard has much of any emotion other than lukewarm on Horizon. Shepard's whole set of dialogue doesn't sell me on her point whatsoever. It's just "hey, you haven't seen me in two years and I showed up working with terrorists but you should totally trust me cuz I said so mmkay?"

2. I think the Council is cautious. I'm not sure if they want to have Shepard as a Spectre because they want to keep her around or if they want to keep tabs on her. Perhaps they are relived that someone will take care of the abductions so that they'll stop looking bad. I'm not too sure.

3. Shepard's been gone for two years. It's not like the memories of what Shepard has done are fresh in everyone's mind, and it's not like they can suddenly give her free reign just because she's Shepard.

4. Shepard showed up with a band of human supremacist terrorists. They will torture and slaughter the innocent if it means they can achieve their goals. Like I said in #3, Shepard's been gone for two years. Does Shepard deserve special treatment just because she's Shepard? I don't think so. Unfortunately, Shepard has something to prove on the merit that she's been gone for two years and that people don't know her anymore. It's a rather selfish attitude to assume that everyone has to follow you and do what you say becase you're extra special... it's kind of a celebrity mentality.

In summary, Shepard's constant lame excuse of "because I said so" doesn't amount to a hill of beans. It's a very bad point to make when you're trying to convince someone.

Shocked, actually.  Then sad, and angry, and really confused.  And then angry again.  Cause only total brain freeze levels of shock can remotely explain the lousy dialogue.

2: Do you think that the Council offering you your Spectre status back just a big PR stunt so that if Shep is victorious they can say that they sent Shep on this mission?

Totally and completely.  That's why they tell her not to hang out in their space.  They don't actually want anything to do with her, but can't resist attempting to cover their collective @sses.

3: Anderson believes you about the Reaper threat whether you go to see him before Horizon or after, so why doesn't he believe that you are using Cerberus as a means to an end?

I actually think this is a case of him personally wanting to believe you, but not feeling comfortable with the risk professionally.  He knows the Reapers are real, but he also thought he knew Shepard was dead, so... caution won out over personal preference.

4: Why doesn't anyone trust you? I know the biggest problem is that you are working with Cerberus but, it still feels like everyone is against you Posted Image

No one trusts you because BioWare had an awesome idea for an anti-hero betrayal heavy second chapter, and then failed to execute it believably.  Even the idea for the ME1 LI story arc, with perceived betrayal and anger at the Horizon confrontation, is a great idea, they just didn't do a good job of making any of it feel inevitable, so a lot of us spend the whole game yelling at it... "why can't my Shepard do what s/he wants to do!"

@ Nick....I understand they don't trust Cerberus but, it still kind of sucks that no one trust Shep to do the right thing. It seems that a part of them trust him/her but, they really believe that Cerberus is controlling Shep in some form. So I do wonder how that is going to be addressed in ME3Posted Image

Well it's not like death and resurrection is a believable story in any shape, just telling people about it isn't enough.

It'd probably be more complicated in ME3 if you told Timmy-boy to shove it in the end. But come on, he's Tim, he HAD to know you'd most likely do that. He has to have a plan.

1. My shep is sad. I wish more people calls shep out on joining cerbrus.
2. Its not so much PR stunt, but I think the council does it for 3 reasons:
     a) To get on your good side, there isn't any point to ****** you off, at least this way you are nominally report back   to them. To do otherwise just drive shep into arm of cerbrus
     B) Gratitude, you did save their lives.
     c) To shut Anderson up, I bet he is pulling strings behind the scene to help you out.
3. Anderson believed you even before the second game came about, he was the one who ungrounded the Normandy for you. He's concern isn't about your loyalty, he thinks that you are being manipulated to think that you are just using cerbrus. We all know the TIM can really play people like a puppet.
4. Many people do trust you. Most of your former teamate (Wrex, Tali, Garrus and Liara) trusts you. Dr. Chawkwa and Joker came back. Even the original council, despite the infamous air quote, trust you enough to leave you alone. Cerbrus trusts you (despite the survellence bugs), and the quarians and geth collective also trust you. Oh yea, Aria does too.

i love.

@ fort and nick: what you said.

re: the ME2 LIs. let me clarify: i like the ME2 LIs okay. i just do not find them "oh they are SO much better than ME1 horizons i got dumped wah me i hate ashely/kaidan liara is crazy yay tali miri is hot it's been 2 years and i need to get me some" that i was reading in that forum.

i was having the hardest time understanding why BW thinks almost everyone will cheat on the me1 LIs. but in reading that forum, it was both the fact that most people had AND their bizarre rationale for it that threw me.

@ sia: megan makes sense. honestly, that's the only one that has in my book yet.

But why wouldn't they believe this? All Shepard has told them was that it wasn't true. She didn't prove it or even attempt to do so and just went on the "trust me" premise.

In ME2, nobody has any reason to believe that Shepard is the real Shepard and that she's not actually with Cerberus.
