As did mine. She was  the whole time. I admit I do like the "So long, Kaidan." line at the end when it's obvious he's not coming with you.

good morning all,
i have to admit, even though i've been through Horizon so many times, i always choose the "don't go, join me" option at that one, even though i know he wont. is it just me stupidly thinking that one day he might say yes?
until you guys mentioned it here recently, i never knew about the clinically dead line because i always chose the neutral option. i could see my shep thinking "i wasn't even conscious" more than, "i didn't want to hurt you" so i never realised that you could actually tell Kaidan that you were dead. i guess that if you use that option, it would hurt more when he walked away from you because it indicates that he doesn't believe you. though i really can't blame him. death is not something people recover from often.

Yes, I understand him not believing without some heavy handed evidence to the contrary.

But it hurts all the same. Posted Image

If in ME3 you had to choose between saving Kaidan or saving a group of people, would you leave him behind?

I'm usually pretty much with saving the greater number of lives first, but it would suck to put him through another Virmire.

I think I would cry and have to keep from breaking the game disc at that point, Batteries.

i really hope they don't, the Virmire survivor's been through enough. You get the impression that Kaidan feels guilt over being chosen instead of Ash, we know know he feels guilt from his letter from surviving when shep didn't, How much more guilt do they have to make him feel?

I can't really speak about ash in this one as i've never been able to save her. I have nothing against Ash i would save her if it wasn't a choice of between her and Kaidan. It really sucks that we have to make that chioce in 1 yet anyone can survive in 2.

It would really suck to be put in this situation, especially since we already had to go through Virmire, and there were no necessary losses in ME2...but I'd probably choose Kaidan.  I REALLY REALLY don't want this scenario, though.

This.

And no offense, but I think the ME1 LI people that kept their LIs kind of deserve a break in the massive amounts of relationship drama. We've been through enough crap already, on top of the increased character bashing we've all seen from the awfully written cameos.

@batt: that would be traumatic. and, I think, rather cheap writing, since yes, they already did that. They better have something different in mind for their 'we had to keep them alive for ME3 awesomeness'.

I was just thinking in the case some people think you have to choose between your LI and saving said party over there instead. :( I said Kaidan as most people here have him as their main LI.
Does seem like mental torture to do that to a Virmire Survivor again.

I seriously hope they avoid any more "Choose only one of your party members to survive this mission" crap.

If they want to make for a big decision, make us choose between homeworlds as the Reapers are attacking. Either defend Earth or defend the Turian homeworld. You can't do both. That would be compelling, fitting, and not put us through the ringer on "I had to choose between you and the mission again!"

I have an incredibly silly question. If Kaidan were on the squad for ME2, where would you have put him? I've been toying with an AU where he does join after Horizon, but I'm at a loss for what his regular station would be and where he'd sleep, though I suppose he could bunk with the regular crew.

I actually wrote down the entire paragon version of the Horizon conversation between Kaidan and Shepard word for word this weekend from a fraps of mine for Sia (hope you guys all appreciate my noble undertaking) and it just plain sucked.  If anyone wants copy just let me know!

I always tend to skip through Horizon fast now when I play it after wanting to strangle my own toon for her dialogue on my first play through so I hadn't had the full impact of it hit me for awhile.

I agree completely, I was adding onto the "if you save these people than your LI will die" to the Virmire Survivor... that would be fail but interesting to see how they'd act if you saved him /again/ :pinched:
I'd imagine some passing out on the floors with a foaming mouth kinda trauma, but that's not allowed.

I've got that one recorded too, as well as one with slight deviations for Alexis. I've got them posted on Youtube (unlisted and private) if anyone wants to see them.

Seriously, I will go postal, melt the game disc, and then melt all the hockey rinks in Canada if they pull that crap again. Well thought out reasons for my temporary insanity?

1) They've done it already. Reused plot goes bad and no you can't fix it by knocking the mold spores off it.

2) Too melodramatic. It would come off as an annoying morality tale.

3.) Finally, let's fact it, if it's a choice between Kaidan and the all Cerberus cast of ME2, some operatives gonna die. Sorry Prize. Sorry ******.

"You can only save one!" is a great effect.  Unfortunately, it only works so many times before it gets stale.

So anyway. Kaidan & Kasumi fic.  It is a bit bland, goes nowhere, and means nothing, but for the fun of it!...

though i'm sure whatever you do, your motives will be questioned, defend earth and you'll be branded a cerberus sympathiser, defend Palaven and you'll be considered a traitor. then there's how some of the members of your crew might react to you letting their relatives die. the way i see it, shep's been put into a no win situation. the weight of the Galaxy has been forced on her shoulders and no one seems to be capable of taking even a little bit away to lighten the burden. with the way they've set shepard up in ME2, i'll be severly disappointed if there isn't a breakdown option in ME3. noone would be able to handle what they've made shepard go through.

Replace Miranda as the XO?  Or... heck, give him full command.  I don't doubt he's earned the new rank.

Is it bad I laughed a bit at the comment? (in a good way)
Plot done already is why I mentioned it after seeing people post that plot happening in ME3 again. I do want squad members and even non-squad members to have the possibility to die, but then I'm not so sure about the plot of it.

Yeah, Shep can have a nice breakdown now, before ME3, after all she (or he) has been through.

Well considering this is actually a Kaidan/Miranda story (yes, really) I don't think making him XO would work.

Hypothetical: If Kaidan had come to the collector base, do you think he could've held the biotic shield? I would like to think he could, L2's are said to be very powerful so i he would have about the same strength as Jack. what does everyone else think?

Hmm...possible death's for characters...

1) Tali will discover that she is not allergic to human food and gorge herself on donuts, eventually growing morbidly obese. Her suit will rupture as her fat breaks free of its confines. She grows ill, and dies.

2) Legion, while on a deep sea fishing trip with the rest of the crew during some well deserved shore leave, decides to go for a swim with his organic comrades not taking his density into account. He sinks to the bottom of the ocean and is never heard from on the surface again. However, as he as plenty of runtimes to speak with, he does not get depressingly lonely and is thus able to refuse any job offers from Davy Jones.

3.) Jacob is beaten to death by Jack for referring to her as, "The Tattooed Prize."

4.) Miranda's ****** becomes ravenously hungry and decides to consume her.

5.) Dr. Chawkwas can slowly die from alcoholism.

6.) Several crew members die from Dr. Chakwas practicing medicine drunk, including Kelly, whom when she came down to pick up this week's anti-biotic series for whatever STDs she currently has, is accidentally given high-dose narcotics instead.

7.) Grunt and Jack will of course get bored and rampage throw the ship killing and maiming. Upon running out of victims they will turn on each other, destroying several ship systems in the process.

8.) And of course Shepard and Kaidan, having ignored all the nonsense going on throughout the ship, will die of sexual exhaustion in each other's arms.

This will leave Joker and EDI to run the Normandy. They will stare blankly at each other saying, "WTFrak?"

There! Possible character deaths for all without having to choose between the mission and your LI.

P.S. I am demented.

Oooo!!! Kaidan/Miranda...

I'll have to read this. (I hope Shep is mShep... :()

But anyway, I think he'd be somewhere quiet where he could think bc of his migraines. One of the observation places would be nice maybe.
