On the other hand I have no idea what I should prepare fot that interview... I wish I could just show them what I usually do, not leaflets or brochures I've never tried before. Two days left. So I'm procrastinating by spamming at the forums.

Glad to hear your muse is back! We can always use more of your wonderful Kaidan pics!
And for the morning group (yes, shameless self promotion), I posted a new story to the Misunderstandings series last night (ok, and this time I haven't screwed up the linky -- I promise!). Silly fluff which actually made it to the light of day thanks to the usual suspects: Sesh, Shenzi and Night!

There is a reason the Alliance cannot openly take care of those colonies. The colonists willingly left Alliance. They are no longer within the Alliance's jurisdiction and as such cannot be officially aided by the Alliance. That's why the Virmire survivor is listed as blacker than black ops, if TIM can be believed. They're helping the colonies in a plausible deniability fashion.
Shepard was given missions in the Terminus system in ME1; the reason the Normandy was built was to be a stealth ship for those sort of occasions.
I really just need to write fan fiction where my Shepard gets a chance to talk to Hackett or someone from the Alliance who's in charge, shows them the footage from Freedom's Progress, and still doesn't get help from them. It would have been the only way in the game for my character to justify continuing to work with Cerberus after being given control of the ship. TIM is a evil, evil man, and my character doesn't like the "ends justifies the means" excuse for working with him.
Plus, Kaidan is right, taking shortcuts can lead to bad things.

It may have been built for stealth missions, but officially, they never asked her to help and her involvement was never mentioned anywhere. And since the Normandy is no longer an Alliance ship, they can't send her unofficially, either.

And what's interesting is that Hackett knows she's back because he does give her a mission (the Normandy crash site). Anderson also is well aware of what she's doing. They can clearly talk with her just as easily but they don't ask questions. And if you're reinstated as a Spectre both Anderson and the Council tell you that if you can do something great but as far as they are concerned you don't exist. So why would the Alliance behave any differently? And they are very well aware of what's happening. Why else would they have sent Kaidan to Horizon to install AA guns?

Because any official action by any of the Council races (including humans) in the Terminus systems would constitute an act of war.
Spectres are never official.
But how were the human colonies created in the first place with no protection or aid from the Alliance? You would think that batarians or other baddies would have enslaved or killed any colonists immediately, in that case. And why would aiding human colonies be an act of aggression (and against whom)? These are things that aren't explained, just stated. I get that those human colonies didn't want to be part of the Systems Alliance, but when thousands of humans are disappearing, that's an emergency that needs to be addressed. Either the colonies should have been evacuated, or they should have welcomed Alliance help.
And while the new Normandy is cool, I would have ditched it if I was given the choice. I really hope we can cut all ties to Cerberus in the last game. I'd be annoyed if we continue to have no say in this, while we're shown time and time again that they're bad, they lie to us and trick us, but we are given no other choice but to work with them because the game says so.

Space is big. They set out on privately funded expeditions and left the Alliance behind. The Alliance cannot officially expand its colonies into the Terminus systems. Delan himself said, "We left you Alliance types behind for a reason."
The Alliance, like Cerberus, never got to the colonies until they were stipped of personnel. Horizon was the only one they managed to get to in time. And even then, all the Alliance could legally send was a lone operative who may or may not have had a small unit to back him/her up.
I, for one, am not convinced Cerberus isn't still a black ops Alliance organization. For one thing... the timeline points out that Jack was tortured while Cerberus was still an Alliance-funded project.

What I never got was that Kaidan says on Horizon that the Alliance thinks Cerberus is behind the disappearance of the colonists. If Cerberus is supposed to be some big pro-human group why would they be suspected of kidnapping tens of thousand or colonists all over the galaxy. Or do they think they are using the colonists in some sort of bizarre experiments like they did with Kahoku's team and Toombs.

I think that the official line on the Alliance is that with Cerberus, anything is possible.
You also have to think that, if not for their insane experiments, could they have brought Shep back?
