i wanted my shep to look pretty, but to somehow look kind of harsh at the same time (well, it's kyrie, so...). like in armor and biotics, she'd scare the crap out of a new recruit, but if the same guy saw her in civvies his jaw would drop. i have a good friend in the military who is a lot like that (actually modeled a few of kyrie's personality traits off of her).
the thing that doesn't show that i'm getting a total kick out of in me2 is that her face takes to the animations really well. some sheps look okay at one angle, but don't smile well or frown well or whatever. this face mod, after MANY bad attempts, really just moves well and seems to fit the animations. some of my earlier sheps always looked angry or sad or surprised.
with kyrie, she seems very nuanced to play because the model picks up her animations and so she smiles well, then frowns well, etc. and she looks very changeable.

Okay, tell me if this is off topic or not, but i am curious:
With your main (which presumably romanced Kaidan - okay, see, it's on topic):
did you design her appearance with some goal/characterization/etc. in mind, or did you jsut build her and go...eh...looks okay?
i'm curious. i took me a bazillion builds to get one i liked, so i'm curious people's thoughts
First time playing Mass Effect: went with default male just to see opening scene, blah blah. Laughed at Elvis hair, and then Kaidan started to talk. Blerble. Waited until cutscene was over and then immediately restarted and made a good looking FemShep that looked like she might have a secret crush on some guy on her ship. Started the game, and realized that her face in profile looked like a question mark (something wrong with the cheekbones). Restarted again, and finally beat the character creation process into giving me something decent to work with. The nose was a bit odd, but then I decided it was her mother's nose, and she was very proud of it. And from there the rest of her personality developed.
My Renegade femShep was designed to be cute and pretty, because that made it that much more fun to play as someone slightly insane and thoroughly ruthless. I modeled her on Jennifer Garner, only blonde and blue eyed. I'm not really sure why, but it worked quite well.

@Daewan- I love making renegade femSheps that look as cute as a button. It makes it all the more humorous when they start spitting and cursing and punching people in the face XD
Those are the best Shepards

I wish the camera would zoom in when you choose eye color. I got the one I wanted (hazel, or light brown. whatever they wanna call it) but some I had trouble telling apart.

Yeah that is one of my biggest issues...especially on the XBox 360 I have to get really close to the t.v. and even then I'm squinting. So I just pick a color that looks decent and call it a freakin' day

I only have one main Femshep that was imported from ME1 (she did romance Kaidan). In ME 1 she was a mixture of paragon renegade (and was a 3 time NG+ so she had options to go paragon or renegade when she wished) but in ME2 she was paragon (because renegade in ME2 is just evil most the time). I viewed her as being a tactical genius (which is why I chose ruthless) and to have military in the blood (spacer). As for her looks... In ME1 I chose the first face in the face customization department and changed the hair and scar but in ME 2 I just went to the ME2 Faces webpage and searched till I found one I liked in their database.
I modified a save and changed the class for a NG+ start with her (but I changed a few things) using the gibbed save editor on the 360 so that I could have a pure renegad femshep (because the renegade femshep looks awesome... the renegade manshep looks like Sheploo ran into a wall).
Both versions romanced Kaidan.

Sucks they got rid of the scars too. I wanted to give my shep a more visable one, if she even has one in the first place. cannot remember.

It get't really bad in ME2 where if you make a mistake you have to watch a 10 minute cutscene everytime

I think they might give the scar option in ME3, it made sence why the scars where taken away, our face was healed and we got new scars. Unless Bioware decideds to kill us again I think they might give us the option to add a scar again, I hope so too.

i hear you. you can't really tell the color until you hit the cutscene with jenkins in me1. drove me nuts.
and is it just me, or does me2 have different colors of eyes than me1. on this import shep, her eyes are this lovely blue, but when i tried to make a me2 shep choosing what i thought was the same color, they were this weird gray that was almost lavender. it was okay, but not blue. very odd.

Some colours where taken out, tweaked and new ones where added. Perfect example is purple eyes are not in ME2, you have to mod or import a Shepard who had purple eyes and ME only had one type of blue where ME2 has three.

Eg: Her nose is the same width as her eyes; this width is the same height as her chin.

I have gray eyes... I like that they gave that option... though the blue option was a little too blue for my taste.

/voice issue also makes it harder for me to make different choices, since it doesn't "fit" somehow, but I guess I'm a bit crazy that way

It's probably the lighting. The scars are so hard to see unless he's in a certain kind of lighting.

You can see one, kind of two here. One is below his lip, the other is on his chin. They're very faint, so they must be pretty old. I think we assume that they're from Vyrnnus beating the crap out of him when he was a kid.

Or he was playing in a pool when he was a kid and hit his chin on the edge like most people who have them (me.).
