Morning Jen... I don´t drink much either, hate to loose control and feeling sick next day... But I enjoy a glas of beer or a wine every once a while... ;)

Thou I like wine, I get the worst hedaches later. There's much "legends" about Polish tolerance to alcohol, but my father wasted his military career (and his life too) with it, so my friends give a weird look when I say "I'd rather not go out for drinks today". And what to do with your friends, when they roll around half-conscious, and you're the only one sober.

Oops, went whining.

Okay, I submitted my screenie to our group on DA, I hope you don't mind. My coffee went cold while browsing new screens... I definitely take too much of them.

On ME topic: how long it takes to travel from the Citadel to, for example, Virmire? Matter of minutes? Hours? Is there any article containing this type of lore? Somehow this knd of things slip out my attention while playing.

Edit: my fav of Jho's

I tend to think it takes a while - at the very least, it seems to take a short time between relays but a long time between star systems.  The best estimate we get is "12 Light Years = a day's cruise" = 12 hours, maybe?

I'd think that getting to Virmire from the Citadel would take days, at least (several jumps and several inter-star-system jaunts).  But... I tend to think travel in general should take time, so my estimates are likely on the high side.  (I tend to boost the events of ME1 as taking the better part of a year, if not over a full year).

Just for fun.  ^_^

well I think we would have to know Virmire's exact distance to the mass relay in light years. Since the Normandy uses an FTL drive like most ships but has an improved one, she an go for longer distances before having to discharge the drive. FTL is defined in the codex as making about about dozen light years in the course of a day. So depending on how many light years Virmire is away from the Mass Relay, it will take a while to get at least from the Mass Relay to Virmire. Not to mention to get from the Citadel to the Mass Relay and all. I haven't found anything specific yet about exact distances though.

Although I live in Germany, I feel your pain there haha. Been driving from LAX to Vegas twice in March and last October. And I really don't like LAX. But will be flying in there again in September for a quick trip to San Diego.

@Aslan: ooooh new furniture? Good luck!

Man, I am jealous of the ability to take pictures, let alone being able to take pictures from different angles.  I'd like to have a collection of good screenshots from dramatic moments or reference material or pretty landscapes.  (...I want a house on Ilos, wildfires or no.)

LOVE the pictures! I love taking screenshots as well. Alas mine don't turn out too well due to my graphic settings.

I think Fraps is the easiest way to get simple screenshots. At least that's what I've been using before I started the Flycam thing....

I have a Biotic related question about Kaidan. I understand that he didn't want to get L3 implants because he'd rather have headaches than weaker Biotic abilities.

Now in ME2 Shepard has L5 implants as an Adept. Is there anything that would indicate that Kaidan got upgrades aswell? If not, do think he got them? (sorry if this was brought up before, I'm just curious^^)

Oh and hello everyone by the way xD

Hey Baal :)
I always saw that as an Cerberus-did-this-for-Shepard-and-Cerberus-agents-only upgrade.

XBox user.  To get screenshots at all, I need to... do... technical things with wires and hardware that I can't afford right now.  :(

And hello to you.  ^_^

And that it could kill/cripple him further, if I recall correctly.  But there's no indication that he got upgraded between games, and the L5 seems to be experimental/Cerberus tech, so probably not.

Although I wouldn't put it past him being upgraded by the time ME3 rolls around.  *shrugs?*

I have my gamma brighter and no dynamic shadows, no grain/blur effects. Anti aliasing, mini map details and so on "provided" by ATI Catalyst. My GFX is no special either. And I'm using Fraps too. It's hard to catch something nice with flycam in ME, because the perspective is... I don't know how to say it, but it ruins over half of the images. In ME2 it's not so "destructive".
And to tell the truth, most of the better pics were taken randomly. I don't know the minimum interval between when Fraps can take a shot, but it could be faster - and maybe the thing that I'm shooting in PNG's has something to do with it.

About the anatomy part, I don't think the models could be more detailed than they are. Has something to do with the law and type of the product. And common sense too - everyone knows that age restriction is no protection against journalists, people who play games that they don't meet requirements for and so on... Uh... Is what I wrote here understandable?

totally is. Gonna check out the settings tonight or tomorrow. Depends on what mood I am in. I prefer Fraps as well. Used Flycam really just for the "special" scenes :innocent:

As for the age restriction thing....yeah totally makes sense. Never said, it was a bad thing. I wasn't surprised to see that there are no more details. I expected it, yet it's weird to look at lol.

@J4N3 and FireEye....Yeah I thought the L5 were Cerberus exclusive/experimental, too. However, if they're called L5 there'd have to be L4. Maybe those L4 are availlable to the Alliance and reduce the risk for Kaidan and would just stop his headaches or something.

Ah well, it wasn't mentioned in-game so it would just be speculation anyways xD
//edit: on the other hand - what else can we do at this point? ^^

I suspect that the danger is actually in taking the L2 implant out, since he's had it since he was quite young and his brain has probably grown in around it, rather than in putting a new one in, which is probably safer than it used to be.

Speculation is fun!  :D

F
L4 implants were used in the Ascension Project, that was set up in 2176. The wiki says, that most kids that received L4 implants were around the age of 11 or 12. Kaidan was already 25 at that time, no? Wiki also says, that those implants were only used in the Ascension Project, so I think, the Alliance havn't even had the chance to upgrade their biotics with other than L3 implants.

Edit: since Ascension was infiltrated by Cerberus, that would explain why only Cerberus has L5 implants.

I'm guessing upgrading biotic implants can be fatal, so Cerberus experimenting with it on someone they're resurrecting isn't much of a problem for them.

It's also possible that Cerberus had already tried to force upgraded implants for test subjects on Pragia or their other super-soldier experiments, with disastrous results.
