I like Kaidan a lot more than Carth. They have the same voice actor but they are still differently voiced. Can't really describe the difference right now without having a reference. I didn't really like Carth's trust issues. I'm glad that Kaidan didn't any of those. I do wish that Kaidan would have a friendship with M!Shepard though. Sad that he didn't. Although he kind of treats M!Shepard as a former friend on Horizon.

I think I've read "OMG NO IT'S CARTH11!!" about 8 different times by now. x.x
I guess it's a good thing I played many years ago and couldn't remember voices by the time I started playing ME, if it had that much of an impact.
Then again, I do like Carth, so I guess it wouldn't of been much of an issue for me.
i haven't played kotor in over five years so the kaidan carth comparison baffles me.
top of the page dreamy kaidan:

There are subtle differences in how he treats the different gendered Shepards. Out of a romance, he appears to be more relaxed with Shepard and is able to communicate better. With a romance, you can tell that he is a little skittish around femShep because he's so smitten.
Again, it's a very subtle difference I noticed and it generally takes place in the first few sentences that you talk with him.

I would have liked more "bro" dialog with Kaidan as M!Shepard, but it's too late for that. Hopefully ME3 will have something like that.

Not sure if this is true, but apparently he opens to F!Shepard more even without the romance.

It's the same reason why most of the Carth haters are men. You miss him opening up to and trusting Revan unless you romance him as a female.

Ex. Right after Eden Prime and you wake up, you can only speak to Kaidan in an actual cutscene dialogue if you are a female. As male, you just click on him and he says "Glad to see you're ok Shepard."
MShep: You're a romantic then, Kaidan?
Kaidan: Yeah I read a lot of those books growing up..
^I think most of these manly man's Gaydars would be going off.

"Thought that one had my name on it!"
That is a very awkward thing to also say after you stand back up after being knocked out xD
At least that is what I'm sure he said.

Besides that, I wish they would treat all dialogues equally, so that if you don't go for the upper or lower option (romance or no romance) you would at least get into some sort of friendship with the other characters. After turning down EVERY romance option in ME2, the entire dialogue stuff got more than boring and it was all about shooting and stuff. For that, I could go back to CS:S or CoD. So for ME3, I wish they change that. Yah, I know, wishful thinking, but hey, one can still hope, no?

How'd he die?
Not "die", but just lost all his health.
He was on his back with his back arched up, legs crossed, one arm bent behind his back and one sticking up into the air. Creepy.
@Jane... I think I remember reading somewhere that "more RPG elements are coming back into ME3," but I wouldn't be able to grab a link or say who said that.
I do like the ME2 Combat system more than ME1, personally. I doubt they're going to change it either.

It's the same with Jack in ME2. She doesn't open up to FemShep but to a MaleShep. That's what I didn't really like. I wish, they would treat that equally. I mean, not only in a homosexual way.....Personally I think it is VERY discriminating that FemSheps GET to romance FEMALE characters while MaleSheps HAVE to romance female characters and don't get the chance of romancing a male character at all. Of course, someone could argue that at least lesbian relationships are treated equally and not discriminated but please.....in the end it's all about hot-lesbian-make-out....something most guys dream of. Homosexual relationships after all are not treated equally in the ME universe and I think that's kinda sad.

Yes, recuiting Garrus, talking to him after I got him, conversation about his loyalty mission and then a conversation after followed by calibrations after that if you didn't romance was rather lame concidering the history.
But to be fair, out of all the characters I think he had the most dialogue outside the Normandy.
The ending dialogue with Jack as a FemShep felt satifying enough for myself concidering her personality. She's an awesome character.

I got a lot of talk from tali & Jack on my first playthrough, but not my second, now I wonder if it was a glitch, tali did offer to share suit air with me, I was playing a femshep
that she did with me as well. but jack eventually got to a point where she told me that I only want to make out with her.

wow... actually I wanted to stay up earlier, but somehow I fell back to sleep... ;-)
... Who cares... I don´t need to go to work:-)
And now I need my strong mug with coffee and read some ff. Since I´m up to date I think I´ll read about Jo´s Carth and maybe some Drama by Phoenix ;-) I doubt that I´ll write a own story, because I don´t think I´ll be good... So I rather love to read them ... I keep on trying drawing and see how this will develop ;-)
@ Night: Morning, how are you?
Uff. I´m on Zhu´s Hope (in case I spelled it wrong, blame it on the fact I haven´t had coffee yet) and never thaught that Krogans are so hard to kill, at least the wearen´t on casual
@ Jane, Morning :-) I feel similar about what you were writing.

Oh, I liked the combat system after I got used to it... ;-), but I really hope and we really get more rpg moments in ME3 :-)
But the most important thing about ME3 is to get Kaidan back *sighs*

Do you have a less pixelated version?
