I think I said this a page or so back, but I don't remember.



I don't think Kaidan could have held the barrier, but he would have been pretty damn close to being able to make it all the way. He's not as strong as Samara or Jack but I think his L2s make him the third strongest biotic on Shepard's team.



Also, here's something else to consider:

The squadmates in ME1 will remark that Kaidan's biotics appear to be getting stronger. His reply is that he's quit holding back. I wonder how strong he is two years later now that he's been able to truly test his limits. My assumption is that by the time ME2 rolls around, he's become much more of an adept than a sentinel.



But I don't think the devs will go this route. Still, it's a nice thought

i guess that's true. i still think that he could hold the barrier but because of his leadership skills, he probably is more suited to the team leader role. it would be nice to hear about his military history. there obviously was something on his record to get him picked to be on the crew of the Normandy. Can it be assumed that anderson handpicked the entire crew of that ship?

I got the impression during ME1 (playing a Pure Soldier!Shepard) that Kaidan was among the most powerful human biotics alive, if not the most powerful on record (after Eden Prime and he got back into practice, anyway).  Even if Jack is now the most powerful, hands down (according to the writers), Kaidan's still up there and I suspect that he would be able to hold the barrier (even though I'd probably take him with me as a squad-mate unless I didn't have anyone else).

I don't think BioWare would have agreed with me, had he been on the mission.  Although I suspect that they might not have even let him be the second team leader successfully either, even though he should have the experience in ME1 (not to mention ME2, where he's definitely grown some).

Regardless, I agree that he would have held it up until either everyone was safe or he died trying.

Re- Anderson handpicking the crew:

Yes, he did personally pick the whole crew. I believe that Chakwas says something about it (I could be wrong about who says it but someone does say it)

I do think that he'd be close to Jack's level of power but it's hard to tell. We didn't get to see him blow stuff in a cool cutscene. 

Hopefully he'll go on a cool biotic explosion spree that makes us all smile.

Yea! Like Wtf. I wanted to see some collectors biotic explode in that cutscene signalling Kaidan was there.

Kaidan definitely has a more controlled grasp on his biotics. Jack's biotics are more unstable, and she herself reckless and impulsive.

Funny story.  Going into ME2 straight off of ME1, the only things I'd seen of it were two trailers.  One of them showed Jack's breakout bit, but not who was breaking out, so I sorta assumed she was Kaidan since the only thing I could tell was that it was a biotic.  And I tried to figure out what the heck he would have been doing in a laboratory/prison/lockdown thing.  Dissapointed.  <_<

Then again, I was also braced for everyone from ME1 being killed off at the start of ME2 for dramatic effect/reset purposes, so I guess I kinda broke even.  ... <_<

@ Jane, yeah we are still renovating Actually we would have maybe done by yesterday, but my husband decided he wanted to shop, because next we´ll fly for a week to Mallorca and he still wanted to get some T-Shirts... We been out all day yesterday and I tell you... I hate shopping, but at least I got some nice jeans and T-Shirts...

Oh man, you were almost lucky. Sitting around the forums was awful when they announced that the ME1 LIs weren't going to be back as squadmates in ME2. The devs even locked the Ashley, Kaidan and Liara love threads.

A lot of us felt like fugitives because we weren't allowed to have character threads about our LIs. I'm not even making this up.
