We can see that Kaiden has strong morals on the issue, considering that even shepard's influence could not get him to change his mind on cerberus. Btw I am glad cerberus no longer influences the normandy. It seems as though Jacob was supposed to fill in kaiden's spot considering he is the human male you start with in ME2.

Exactly. I'm glad in a way that Kaidan didn't just drop everything to join Shep and Cerberus, I think that would really have gone against everything he stands for and been so horribly out of character.

I wonder who has more haters now, Kaidan or Jacob? I get the impression that Jacob is pretty much the forgotten character of ME2.

Personality wise do you guys like the way kaiden turned out in ME2?

I think most Ashley/Kaidan fans realize why they couldn't join Cerberus, or come with Shepard on the mission, but we're disappointed at how short the Horizon scene is, and how interchangeable the dialogue is.  I don't think we can even count the Horizon scene as separate scenes for Ashley or Kaidan, so you can't really get a good read on whether their personality has changed or not.

Sigh.  We'll see in ME3.

No one has commented on us having reached PAGE 175 yet?! Kaidan hugs for all! :wizard:

Anyway, about the portrayal of Kaidan in ME2, TeenZombie and BECC4 pretty have said it all. I like to think that most fans understand his reaction. Probably players new to ME2 were like, "WTF is this? Who is this dude? This Kaidan guy sucks." but who cares, they should play ME1 first anyway. ;)

Well actually it seems apart from the spectre staus of shepard kaiden has achieved similar status in the alliance as shepard. So he might actualy rather go his own way, meaning he wouldnt be on the normandy crew in ME3.

His reaction was pretty much in character as far as I was concerned. He is a career soldier and Alliance through and through and kind of a hot head as well (like when he called Udina a bastard for selling them out...or killing Vyrnnus). Despite the fact that he thinks with his head he seems to react emotionally more often than not in difficult situations. He exploded on Horizon but true to form once he had time to think about it he emails Shep. Why?...cause once the initial shock has worn off he's back to thinking with his head again and not so much with his original gut reaction. It was the same Kaidan and the same personality as far as I was concerned.

Pretty much sums it up for me too and saves me a lot of typing hehe. Yay Michelle :kissing:

With those eyes, would he?

But hey, its only common politeness to at least ask before plugging away as it where. Otherwise, methinks a kinfe and a certain part of the male form will get to meet in a justifyable way.

I go more for the upper bod,

I like upper body as well but he has to have a waist and a butt...someone with Jacob's build would never do...at least for me. And eyes...I like pretty and or intense eyes on a guy.

Arms, particularly forearms, can't explain it but they make me shiver, it's the man line, I love manlines.  Kaidan has lovely arms.

I like the bum and the pecs too but ooooh, nice forearms are a must, especially with rolled up sleeves *slips into a very pleasant daydream*

"This!" to all of the above. Forearms, biceps, shoulders, pecs. Mmmmm. Nice butt is also important: flat-butt or bubble-butt is a firm DO NOT WANT for Crimson, the balance has to be just right, grabbable, but not over the top.

With a path down a middle!

A path! A path!!

:lol:Fort's own happy trail.

I saw someone call Jacob "an even bigger whiner than Kaidan" and of course they had to add "he reminds me of Carth"...

But I think most people look at Jacob as "okay", but not cool as a female love interest, and not special because he's not an alien and doesn't have tattoos or badass scars.  Apparently human teammates are cool if they have tattoos and scars.

Looking at the number of his fans on the board I would say he was pretty much forgotten. Even most of the ME1 squad members have more fans than he does.

In all seriousness, there is now way Jacob's dialogue was written to be a female romance option, no man on this planet could possibly be that dense to think a woman would like that, I refuse to believe there are men truely that clueless!

Bioware really failed the ME2 love interests by not giving them a friendship dialogue path; unless you were romancing them, they just didn't have much to say. Many people have said this, but I was so turned off by femshep's flirty sounding dialogue that I gave up hope on trying to be just friends with Jacob (planning to start another playthrough soon to correct this). In contrast, I never romanced Ash in ME1, but I still enjoyed talking to her and got a good feel of who she was...up to the point in the game where she saved us all on Virmire. :\\

I don't think it was either. It had to have been written for guys that wanted their femSheps to have a romance.

I'm sure that's what they intended but it didn't go over well. I actually even think that since Mordin was pointed out as your first suggested recruit that he was in a way intended to fill Liara's spot...not as a love interest of course but his research was important to part of the main quest much like Liara's help was needed in ME.

And yet we're discussing Jacob a whole lot in this thread. According to Bioware that would mean they wrote a succesful character.

Of course it all adds to the risk, ask any woman who's ever fallen for a badboy, men are generally infuriating partly because we can't stay away from them (or is that just me Image IPB).
