Jacob's conversations were extremely iffy

Eh, I was never worried around Jacob. I was clear that I wasn't interested - despite the sultry tone that Shep took when she said she wanted to talk. There are clear markers to shut him down so that he never even brings up anything romance.

Garrus and Thane both have that last conversation that lets you sidestep into the romance suddenly.

But, I never found it hard to "avoid" romances in ME1 either.

Oh, doing the platonic thing is difficult enough.  I don't think I could ever Virmire him.

My single-shep just did that, and he sounds so offended and it sucks to
have conversations end with "Commander".

I am curios about one thing in ME2 regarding Kaidan: What abilities will he have? I do hope that by then they will give you the choice to select more then between 3 bloody abilities, one of which was a loyalty one.



I do hope he will not be like Miranda is. She is somewhat of a sentinel herself: SMG, Pistol, Biotics and Tech.



Hmm...Kaidan with Tactical Armor, not that would be interesting.

Oh trust me, she's going to have very different dialog when I write her version of ME2.

After the second conversation with Jacob, there is no possible way to start the romance with him. If you don't romance him, after the second conversation F!Shepard gets the same conversations as M!Shepard.

Here's a quick miniguide on how to avoid Jacob's romance (as well as avoiding being flirty)

Choose these options:
1. Say the word, I back off.
1a. Any family? <-- Optional. May be interpreted as flirty. Does not start the romance though.
2. You seem quick to trust me.
3. The job isn't everything. OR They need discipline.
4. We have nothing to hide. OR We'll give them a show.

So far as I know, Thane's romance is only started by the "I want you Thane" dialog option. If you don't choose that option, the romance does not begin and there are no more conversations with Thane (he still calls you "Siha" though...)

Garrus' romance is started by "Let's release stress together," although you can back out by choosing the bottom choice immediately afterwards. If you don't romance him, there are no more conversations.

I always talked to the crew after every mission, and my routine always took me back to my cabin so I could feed my fishes. So technically, I checked on Kaidan's picture after every conversation.

kyrie wandered up to the pic a lot, too. she spent most of the post-drinking with chakwas staring at the pic. i think she slept it off on the floor under the desk, dreaming of kaidan. she fell asleep trying to think of how to write him an email.

Give Kaidan

1. Throw/Pull/Singularity
2. Overload
3. Biotic kick? That or something like throw.

And a class skill that reduces power recharge time, increases his weapon damage, increases his health, and increases squad health.

Use pistols and assault rifles.

I just started a single FemShep for Thane in ME2 ....weeeeeeee ^.^
As for the ranking stuff.....personally I do believe that IF Shep is gonna be re-instated with the Alliance, that they won't just re-instate her as Lieutenant Commander but also promote her to Staff Commander. Seeing that Kaidan was "only" LT before AND also seeing her achievements during the entire Saren/Sovereign battle, it would ONLY be fair if she got at LEAST the same rank Kaidan has.
So since Kaidan won't be outranking her, they can keep the love story going. That's how I see it.

I was thinking of that too, my brother was telling me the same, Shepard  has too many things so if she returns to the alliance she will have to be promoted!!
But I don't know about this, if thay have the same rank, the fraternization rule doesn't aply to them? (Sorry don't know anything about the army/navy...)

The fraternization rule would still apply but at least Kaidan wouldn't have an excuse that she is his subordinate if she's got the same rank. after all, he never had a problem doing what they were doing in her cabin, on the bed......when she was still his commanding officer......back on normandy 1....when life was still easy because they were only fighting Saren and some Geth and that sucky Sovereign dude.......sorry got a bit carried away there lol.



Just stopped playing ME2 for today....I think I need a break. I'm kinda stuck because I don't wanna do the Horizon mission lol. Even though I am playing a single Shep this time, I just KNOW that it is going to suck hamster balls...:crying::crying:.

What if they were in different ships? Which I don't want to:crying:

Quick opinion question for a fic: how would Kaidan refer to a (make) Shepard that he was fairly close to: Shepard or by his first name? It's first person narration, so I'm really looking for how Kaidan thinks of him inside his own head.

I checked that picture often on my first ME2 play through to make sure I wasn't making any mistakes with conversations as well.

Neh, it's apparently visible that way in the game, you just have to mess with the camera somehow.

... and it makes me jealous because it only works in the PC version.  Fortunately, folks around here have the PC version and are adept at taking great screenshots.
