Welcome to the gutter Liv, good to see more Kaidanites coming out of lurking mode, lol a belated hello to Goofygoff as well

Things I don't get :
1. Right from the start TIM tells Shepard that his sources say that Liara is working for the shadow broker - how the hell can you trust any info coming from him given that this is wrong (although Shep doesn't know that at the time I suppose)
2. If the collectors were going after Shepards former team mates why was Kaidan the only one? They could have easily gone after Tali (on a backwater planet in geth space) or even Wrex, although I'm not sure how capable Tuchanka is from fending off an attack from space. I've discounted Garrus & Liara cause they were on populated and probably well defended worlds.
3. I hate it that Shep just takes TIM's word for it that the Alliance isn't doing anything about the missing colonists.

@Batt - I was in 2 minds about whether to save the collector base - it made sense to me to keep it and use the tech against the reapers but I didn't want it in the hands of Cerberus. I told TIM off and I hope that we get the chance to go after him in ME3. It's time for some payback, he deserves it after putting Kaidan in danger as well as my Shep, lol

That's my thing too with the base. Either way you pick it, both are going to have pros and cons.



I didn't have any ethical problem about keeping the base, but giving to the Illusive Man is what makes me a bit nervous.

I know he's going to use it against the Reapers, but also against other species. Maybe even other humans.

Promoting and securing humanity a strong place in the galaxy, sure. You're not going to last long if you're always behind.

Cutting down every other species and dominate them all? No.

But I am mixed with the feeling of, sometimes someone needs to take control of it all with an iron fist to pull it all through, but not a permanent iron fist.

I don't think anyone could be trusted with having the ability to construct Reapers (which is what the base does). No should have that much power. That is just asking for tyranny. I will also add that the base is capable of indoctrination. Given the fact that Cerberus has tried mind control before...

I get the feeling I'm going to be cringing after reading the new book when it come out x.x

I'll still import saved base for story too. Hope I didn't sign any main character deaths in ME3 because of that.

I like 3, but as FireEye said I'd love it if he rescued her instead... which I guess could be possible. They could do it like the Joker mission near the end of ME2 or like the prison break in Dragon Age. That would be so fun!

Horizon was the one time in the game where my Shepard actually got played.  So... yes.  I suspect that Horizon was an elaborate trap that involved leaking information to the Alliance saying that Cerberus would be there and leaking information to the Collectors that Shepard would be there (not Kaidan).  The Illusive Man tells Shepard that Kaidan is there and that they're after him, I suspect, to get Shepard moving.

Not that Kaidan might not have been important to the Collectors, what with his having been part of the force that took down Sovereign, but that Shepard is the name that most people associate with such a fact.

I agree completely, it just stunk of a set up and the fact that IM asks afterward if they ended their relationship or something really made me go 'hmm'. I think maybe he was hoping Kaidan would spurn her in anger and that FemShep would be upset so instantly dislike the Alliance since Kaidan 'took their side' or something? That way she'd be totally committed to Cerberus and wouldn't be so suspicious of the IM's motives anymore. That or I'm over-analyzing it way too much. xD

That, too.  I also rather suspect that he was hoping that Kaidan/Ashley got taken with the rest of the colony.

Whatever the case, I doubt that he was "testing the Collectors to see if Shepard was what they wanted" or however it was he said it.

Haha, yes, definitely don't think he was sending her there for that. I do agree he was probably hoping the LI would get taken, but after finding out they weren't he was probably hoping their meeting ended badly.

Also does anyone else think TIM might really be a robot in a human suit? xD I have a hard time figuring out why the hell a human would have those kind of eyes, lmao. Even 'eye implants' seems far fetched.

I wouldn't be surprised if turned out to be a Reaper in a human disguise or along those lines. Read that in a fic before XD

What was crazy is that most everything they wrote down seemed to make sense and fall into pieces.

You can bet that Cerberus managed to get their hands on lot of Sovereigns bits and pieces and it was probably the tech they picked up from those bits that gave them the knowledge to be able to rebuild Shepard.

Any which way, he wins.  If Kaidan got taken, Shepard has a reason to fight harder (in theory).  If Kaidan (and by extension, the Alliance) snubbed Shepard, Shepard has to "let go" (in theory).  If Shepard somehow manages to put the whammy on Kaidan and bring him over to Cerberus, Cerberus just gained the Alliance's second top hero (personal speculation/in theory).

He's either a robot or highly cybernetic.  Shepard also has the glowy eyes when Renegade, so... yeah.

Re: The Collector Base

We blew it up for totally irrational reasons.  The Illusive Man was pointing out how awesome it would be for Cerberus.  I was like, "uh... no, I don't think so.  "  My Shepard was like, "This is for Akuze!  ^_^"

And a Kaidan.

Sucks you cannot mention it at all, Toombs is the only thing referenced to it apart from when Miranda questions you in the beginning, as far as I know.

Indeed. You can't even bring up that Cerberus was involved, even when they bring it up as something that happened in your past.  Annoying!
