Haha, so true, bless their little cotton socks, tell me as a man do you actually realise that most of the time we know exactly what you're doing?
You do?!

By their definintion of a successful character, Lillith is successful as well.
She incites our wrath, after all.

Of course it all adds to the risk, ask any woman who's ever fallen for a badboy, men are generally infuriating partly because we can't stay away from them (or is that just me).

I suppose it does at that, but what's wrong with just asking, it's not like she's not gonna notice!
Even Kaidan would get a smack for trying something like that
With those eyes, would he?
But hey, its only common politeness to at least ask before plugging away as it where. Otherwise, methinks a kinfe and a certain part of the male form will get to meet in a justifyable way.
Even Kaidan, there are some lines that no man may cross without punishment, that is one of them.

Perhaps not, but nonetheless it is clear that he was intended to, seeing as how kaiden could not rejoin the normandy.
In all seriousness, there is now way Jacob's dialogue was written to be a female romance option, no man on this planet could possibly be that dense to think a woman would like that, I refuse to believe there are men truely that clueless!
And yet we're discussing Jacob a whole lot in this thread. According to Bioware that would mean they wrote a succesful character.

I think we are discussing him because he was not what we wanted. If Kaidan had been a LI this time around with romance dialog and a love scene we'd probably never even mention Jacob. He would have been even more forgettable.

Where does that leave the cute & manipulative men?
Looks like I'm gonna have to go start another fight to get the girl <_<

We can see that Kaiden has strong morals on the issue, considering that even shepard's influence could not get him to change his mind on cerberus. Btw I am glad cerberus no longer influences the normandy. It seems as though Jacob was supposed to fill in kaiden's spot considering he is the human male you start with in ME2.
Exactly. I'm glad in a way that Kaidan didn't just drop everything to join Shep and Cerberus, I think that would really have gone against everything he stands for and been so horribly out of character.
I wonder who has more haters now, Kaidan or Jacob? I get the impression that Jacob is pretty much the forgotten character of ME2.
I saw someone call Jacob "an even bigger whiner than Kaidan" and of course they had to add "he reminds me of Carth"...
But I think most people look at Jacob as "okay", but not cool as a female love interest, and not special because he's not an alien and doesn't have tattoos or badass scars. Apparently human teammates are cool if they have tattoos and scars.

Cute and manipulative is still badboy, my general rule of thumb is approach all males as hostile, toy with them first, gauge their reaction and then strike ......... wait no, I mean .................*giggles whilst twirling a lock of hair around her finger looking pretty*

One thing I find interesting about Jacob is that everyone says that he has his stuff together and is like Kaidan.
I find the opposite to be true. He joined Cerberus because he agrees with their current direction. He left the Alliance because it had changed. He'll leave Cerberus if they change directions.
Yeah, he's got convictions, but he changes sides way too much. I think he's a bit naive and confused about the general direction of his life. IMO, Jacob desperately needs a mentor.
This doesn't mean I hate the guy at all. It simply means that I find it very hard to have him as a believable romance.

Excellent points Fort...Kaidan sounds much more mature or at least that's how I took it..
