good morning fellow Kaidanites :)

All I got from catching up on what I missed last night is Kaidan hard....:whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle: not that I would mind haha.

Anyway, I like about Kaidan what Fort said. He's just a normal, regular guy. I'm pretty fine with that. Don't always need the badass, tough guy that comes to rescue the princess and/or has problems showing his true feelings. On the other hand, that's exactly what I like about Jack.....she's the complete opposite of Kaidan. Which makes everything even more interesting. I really do like them both, with all their positive and negative sides. All in all though, Shep is my hero and no one else in the game can be like her! Yes, HER!

shoot! did i kill the thread?  kaidan to revive it:

Kaidan set his jaw, assessing the situation. There were multiple hull breaches and the ship's integrity had been severely compromised. He made his way through a jungle of live wires to find Shepard; Joker refused to leave. If Joker refused to leave, then Shepard would refuse to leave. If Shepard refused to leave, then Kaidan would refuse to leave as well.

It sounded like a high school geometry problem in his head, a grim reminder of how dependent they were upon each other.

The Lieutenant shook his head; these kind of distractions could get himself killed.

And he'd be damned if he died in Phoenix armor.

*raises hand* Professor Fort! There's another variable, He'd be damned if he died BEFORE seeing Shepard one last time!:innocent:

I honestly did not know Kaidan was wearing Phoenix Armor until I saw it on one of the threads. I was like "Holy crap, that /is/ Phoenix Armor!". I was too excited to see Kaidan in ME2 to notice what he was wearing.

@Phoenix....you should see the Jacob romance rejection scene. He seems really desperate to be with Shepard. It made me cringe.

Nothing against Jacob, just wish his character had been written better.

Look at you... sneaking into the Kaidan thread. Heavy risk...

It probably does not help that I watched the Jacob vs. Harbinger video earlier.

Maybe if Shepard didn't act like she wanted to undress him in the Armory and do the deed then and there, he wouldn't have gotten the idea that she was into that sort of flirtation.

I don't know what they were thinking. If I had the opportunity to ask the developers five things about how they developed ME2, Shepard/Jacob would be in that list. But hey, all the better to appreciate Kaidan more.

Jacob is the only one that says he loves Shepard, though, so I guess that counts for something.

I like to give some love to unloved character. We're gonna spill some drinks on the Citadel someday.

It's not just Shepard who has bad lines in his romance. Things like "pushing my buttons" "we'll get our time" and other things implying how much Jacob wants to bed Shepard. I did like that Jacob allowed Shepard to vent though. That was a nice touch. Still, I felt his romance was inferior to literally every other romance.

@Batt - I think Shepard would prefer her drinks spill on Kaidan...then she'd have to help clean him up. Preferably if he was shirtless before the drinks spilled....and on a bed...

But that's after she rejects him I think...

My mom warned me about men that say "I love you" as a reason to have sex when you're not ready to do so.

Heh. In Kaidan's romance, (I'm not sure when), he's talking about Shepard and one of her qualities and...
(paraphrase)
Kaidan: That's what I lo- appreciate about you.

Then there's also the "I loved you" on Horizon.

There are a few other things that indicate love in other romances, though not all.

@ fort and Collider...True on both counts. Poor Jacob.

The locker scene is when Kaidan almost says 'love'. *sigh* When I first heard that, I got all giddy inside.

I actually rather like Jacob's character as a fellow soldier, and the first couple conversations with him seem to follow along such lines. (Where I assume the dialogue is actually the same for male and female Shepard.) I had to work out the dialogue through a couple playthroughs so I could reach the point where I thought Shepard sounded the least sleazy aside from the first line of the conversation.

Oh man, now I just heard a male Shepard leaning back on the table with a mischievious smile telling Jacob "I'm just wondering if we could talk for a bit...."

Here's my opinion on Jacob's romance. Similarly to Liara's, the romance starts too fast. In Jacob's romance, before a real emotion and romantic connection can be formed. Secondly, F!Shepard's come ons are, well, very sexual. There's like 4 ways to start the Jacob romance in his second conversation, and they are all sexual (some more than others). Also the fact of the change in tone in her voice.

Jacob actually isn't bad here (in the second conversation) in that his reactions to F!Shepard coming on to him are awkward and funny in a good way.

After that, Jacob insists that they take everything slow and keep everything casual. However, if you break up with him, he is enraged. While I can understand other romance interests being pissed off if you break up with them, someone who specifically says that they want to keep everything casual should not act like he did.

Jacob also gets majorly pissed if you try to help him with his father. He insists that he has no issues to speak off (because super anti-baggage man or something and cannot display feelings) and he'll dump you and tell you to go talk to Garrus (wat) if you try to help him. After that, he doesn't want to talk to you anymore.

His romance scene, of course, is horrible in almost everyway. There's some eyecandy for the ladies (although not all ladies will agree it's eye candy) but that's about all that could be considered "goo" about it.

Jacob's romance has at least 4 kisses, and one instance of holding hands, as well as the most explicit and direct romance scene besides Miranda (in ME2) (unless you count renegade sex with Jack, but that isn't a romance, that's just sex). As well as other exclusive things that other romances do not have. Ironic - he ends up being the least popular romance interest of all.
