Being able to have a pleasant talk with a dev on an interesting subject(a single character would be cool) without someone rolling in and spoiling it?

I know! I keep running the dialogue and the message in my head and can't help but think of how Sheperd could have handled it better. I guess a big part is that its been about a week since ME1 to her and 2 years to everyone else. But she certainly could have been warmer to the guy. Wouldn't she have told him how relieved she was to (1) see him again (2) that he wasn't abducted by the collectors? Especially after that glowing intro he gave. "Hey Kaidan, howvya been?" probably isn't exactly what had been in his fantasies of what she would say to him if by some miracle he would have met up with her again. I think that it's that aloofness that makes the change in him from relieved and in awe to anger and betrayal--especially considering her connection to Cerberus.fortunesque wrote...
Horizon made me mad at Shepard for not trying harder to convince Kaidan. She just sits there and expects everyone to trust her after being dead for 2 years. So, people are just supposed to accept that she's back from the dead courtesy of a terrorist organization? Why? Because she's Shepard dammit and everyone ought to listen? She doesn't even offer any evidence! Shepard just acts like everyone ought to do as she says.
I think she doesn't want him to see it. Notice that when he leaves, right before she com's Joker to pick them up, her shoulders droop. Its sublte, but its there for both the male and female Shepards.CheeseRoca wrote...
we could at least see some unhappiness on our Shepard's face don't you think?

I think there's always some person observing community, reviewing fanart and fanfiction as well. Ideas, concepts, especially some exceptional fan work (sometimes this is how people are headhunted).
That's... just a bit spooky. Then again, it's not unheard of. I once saw David Gaider post an *extremely* favorable comment on someone's drawing of the Empress of Orlais. Something about him wanting to take the picture to the dev team and demand "MAKE!"

You know, these forums are really an extremely small portion of the overall ME fanbase (unless you want to think 1.5 million people are reading this). I've always wondered how Kaidan was viewed overall. I know it's a love him/hate him division around here. I'm sure a lot of regular guys outside of the forum take that whiney hate him view because regular guys are quite clueless on what appeals to women anyway. But what of the female fanbase? Kaidan overwhelmingly over other LIs or no? I mean, do Bioware get a sense of how popular he is or are they stuck being dumbfounded by Garrus's popularity?
So true! It's insane how many people love Garrus. I have nothing against him but I hope Bioware doesn't forget us Kaidan fans here. I also hope that Bioware gives us a chance to romance Kaidan again in ME3. I've read some stuff about people who left the Kaidan fandom because of what happened in Horizon in ME2. Though I respect their decision, (Kaidan did act like a jerk there) I feel sad that people keep on hating on him (and sometimes the fans) Can't we all just get along?

And I was quite disappointed in Garrus after Horizon. He's supposed to be a friend and he would have known that there was something between Kaidan and Shepard. He doesn't offer any comfort at all to her after Horizon. Joker and Kelly talk to Shepard about it, but Garrus drops the ball. I think it would make him a better candidate to be LI if he is there to be a shoulder to cry on at that point in the story.

YES! I wanted to be hugged by a turian that understood loss. Epic fail.

Why do guys harp so badly on Kaidan being whiny? I've never seen him as such. I could see either Carth being seen as such (although I don't really) or Alistair (DA). But not Kaidan. If anything, he's too controlled, too together to allow much emotion to come through.

Well consider this from Garrus's point of view, your Commander is teamed up with Cerberus, you are following her into hell, but also you are a turian and she's human....you don't know how to comfort her that much.
They'll probably be the same with even the same lines with a word or two altered. I expect the same amount of effort put into them in ME3 that was shown in ME2. (which is next to none)FieryPhoenix7 wrote...
Does anyone think Kaidan will play the exact same role as Ashley in ME3? I've recently started a new ME1 playthrough (my 8th), and the two (Kaidan and Ashley) are obviously two very different characters, but in ME2, they are more or less the same attitude-wise. I wonder what this means for ME3.
Lol, don't be so negative fort...oh, you're not being negative, you're being realistic.fortunesque wrote...

As Fort says. Differences between them finish at Virmire (excluding the LI factor)
That certainly seems to be the case.AkodoRyu wrote...

I'm a male gamer, so it's only natural for my primary Shepard to be male. That being said, I do have a female Shepard who romanced Kaidan in ME1 (I actually liked his character more as a female), but for some odd reason I couldn't resist myself with Thane in ME2, so I moved on and romanced him. Since my male Shepard is staying true to Ashley, I guess I'm not missing much if both are just going to play the same role in ME3, though part of me wants to replay ME2 with my FemShep and stick to Kaidan, but I really don't know.
I fear that Kaidan/Ashley will become the squadmate version of John/Jane Shepard.Joisan wrote...

Well, we'll see. In ME1 the post-Virmire romance content was very different for Kaidan and Ashley. In ME2 their Horizon dialogue was practically copied and pasted. Let's hope for more of an ME1-type thing: they may fill the same role, but their personal dialogue with Shepard is very different.
